@@陳韋杉-j9y Another Saab to BMW owner here (with some Toyota and Acura in between). IMHO, BMW's N20 and N54 turbo engine problems were similar to what Saab experienced in the first couple generations of turbo charging. My 2001 9-5 had to replace turbo after less than two years of ownership (under new car warranty) then the new and improved turbo has been working fine for more than two decades (car was given to a kid as first car after him getting license then as gift to a friend). My 2017 340xi GT with the B58 engine ( has been trouble-free since new; that's 7 years and 64k miles (a little over 100k kilometers). In between, the Toyota 3.3L V6 and Acura (Honda) 3.5L V6 SUV's also worked flawlessly, while their respective first generation turbo engines (Honda 1.5L Turbo, Toyota 2.4 L Turbo and 3.4L Turbo) have been facing significant problems. During my truck purchase a year ago, I decided on a Chrysler V6 (a normally aspirited engine that has been in production for nearly a decade) over a new design Toyota 3.4L Turbo V6, half a year before the massive Toyota engine recalls.
Being a past owner of an E38 740i Sport and an E92 M3, I was glad that I sold both cars before their values plummeted to zero, lol. The problem was the extensive use of plastic parts which started to fail after 3-5 years. Now the metal parts failed early in late models. What a pity.
