You can have such a good time with Once We Get Married for many different reasons. You can laugh at some ridiculous scenes, then you can get giddy at their funny romance. Wang Yuwen and Wang Ziqi really carried the show! Their chemistry is enough, not too bland and not too sweet, just perfect dose of romantic aura. I find that they worked in Castle in the sky 2? Hope they can work together again in a well-written high budget production. Heck even if it's another contractual marriage drama again!

Maybe in a costume drama? WZQ's next drama is science fiction, IIRC. I think WYW also has chemistry with Caesar Wu in the Chang An drama. But more chemistry with WZQ, I agree.

I laughed so much at this review of Once We Get Married, because it's pretty much a complete duplicate of my reactions to it. I loved Imperial Coroner (including the female lead though subordinately to the male lead), especially the interesting subject matter (though I wonder somewhat about its authenticity). So, to find that Wang Ziqi stone face can convey so many subtle expressions that had me in stitches throughout Once We Get Married. Who would have guessed he would be so good in a comedy? And yes, great posture. So many differently handsome men. So frustrating to wait for installments; I have never been good at remembering ongoing installments of series, had to go back and watch the last ten minutes or so of the last episode once the next pair -- or quartet -- was finally posted. One I'll watch again, and probably yet again, such fun. (Surely it would win the prize for most kisses ever in any production?!) Will take a look at Dear Diary; the name put me off, generated low expectations.

I watched Dear Diary bc of your review and I loved it so much! All of the actors were so good and the story was amazing. Although the story had main leads, the other two couples were also interesting to watch and I love that they also had a fair amount of screentime. All of their stories were so different, I was never tired of them💕

Dear Diary is a gem! I haven't seen the extra at the end, really want to, but I'm happy with the ending from what I know of it. It would be amazing if they continue it with part 2, doubt it though. Miss the characters and ensemble of cast already 🥲

The assistant in "Once We Get Married" is my favourite character. The actor played "Assistant with Sass" exceptionally well. Also the hair stylist did an amazing job at his hair!

Once We Get Married was so unexpectedly fun. His exasperated expressions were hysterical. I loved how he fell for her from the beginning. She is beautiful and cute without seeming to try hard. And yes, Wang Zi Qi's charisma is very attractive. His interactions with his assistant were also amusing. I read on another site that he dubbed himself? His voice sounds the same as The Imperial Coroner, but I really don't know since I can't understand Mandarin and unfortunately have to rely on the subtitles.

This drama must have become very popular and successful overseas (not in the China Mainland local) that WeTV (Tencent's head office or boss) have produced a special short promo for the male lead Wang ZiQi to introduce the drama series and to ask the overseas audiences to watch his drama. This was sort of a last minute thing after the official release of the drama. Obviously it was specially made for the female audiences which have become his new and addicted fans. I am sure that he has added a lot of female fans under his name for his very popular and successful performance, after his other successful drama The Imperial Coroner. I like him and so so happy for him. Hope he can be more successful down the road or in the future.

The drama of “ When we got married” - the leading lady acting has much improve every time she has new dramas out. I have seen 3-4 of her project and I can see the improvements and she does not isolate herself of one role which is good. She is a promising mew actress that has true caliber!

I watched a little of Love at Night. The plot is so bad/old…but Zhang Yuxi and Liu Xueyi are so pretty to look at… She’s long and lean and he’s chiselled and fit; both have really beautiful well-defined features. Sigh, I so wish I can place them in a convincing story. P.S. Zhang Yuxi does look like a female Gong Jun, especially the eyes…in fact, if you merge Zhang Yuxi and Liu Xueyi together, with her face and his abs, you more or less get a Gong Jun…

I agree with both of your reviews. I watched both of these and was hooked for different reasons. Dear Diary was such a sweet drama but not in the same way Once we get married was and you touched on those differences quite eloquently. I don’t think these are the greatest dramas out there but for the time they were on- I did not feel like I wasted it by watching them, if that makes any sense. Thank you for your review!

Once We Get Married was such a fun romp! It’s one of those lightweight dramas that you happily watch every moment while noshing on popcorn. The leads did a great job of showing a lot of chemistry. Was it earth shattering? Nope. But at one point you realize that all the while you are watching it, you are sitting there grinning like an idiot (except for the scenes with the second female lead who made you want to just flick her off the screen so the story could go on--)

Once We Got Married is so enjoyable, I see all the tropes from miles away, I see the plot from the moment I see the trailer but it just so good, they look so good together, it just on the rewatch list right away. It's cliche but a good one. Not to mention the couple is just great, they play off each other so good, their body language also work well together.

Omg I gushed the same way you did when I watched Once We Get Married. The chemistry was 🔥. I didn't care about the other cast, the small production mistakes and some weird editing. Overall, I gushed at every episode. They just looked so good together. The last time I felt like this for drama characters were the main leads from kdrama Suspicious Partner. because he's very slender and tall. In one of the episodes, he was shown wearing a female pajamas top (that his wife previously bought for a larger size). He actually could fit into a female pajamas top. It was so funny. I meant he's that slender (with skinny arms)..... hahaha

The final English subtitles version of "Dear Diary" did not include the variety show ending nor did it show Keane's reappearance in modern times. After returning to Babylon, he had buried a mask that ended up in a market, and Mei Rong's second uncle bought it and sent it to the second female lead at the Sichuan Opera. She recognizes it represents a constellation her lover had pointed out to her. And the first ML (the Prince) reappears as an airline pilot with no memory of the FL. So maybe there are different versions out there? I watched the finale premiere live on Youkou's KZbin channel, so I am confused.

Yeah, AvenueX's review has made me rewatch 2 last episodes again because I also cannot see these screens. By the way, I prefer the drama ends as in the English sub version cause I want this drama to remain an imperfect element. Because it will make the story more unique and memorable. The main couple has an open ending that maybe they can be together in the future because they both have sensitive characteristics and willy to die for their love. As for the 2nd couple, I believe it will make more sense if they don't reunite. They are the same type of people who have lofty goals passing over their love, and the forever break-up can bring a layer of meaning that there is a price for every choice that a person makes in their life.

Not 2 Goldmine, but 2 Sugarmine Rating! 18:30 but no worries, at least I personally find it ok to include things like "overall enjoyment" and "rewatcability" etc in a anotherwise rather technical rating~ At least i do it. There are things that have 1a quality, but i could never watch it a second time, and it also doesn't stick as much as some kind of B-tier thingy, that sticks and make me wanna watch it over and over~

I loved Once we get married because it didn’t give so much pressure to the viewers but serve loved inspiration for both couple that trust each other is really important not carried away seducing villains to ruin their feelings towards each other…they both deliver it fantastic with love naturally feeling…kudos to the writer and director of this drama once we get married ❤️🥰😇

Thank you so much. I watched this revue and decided to give "once we get married" a try. Especially as "imperial coroner" is one of my top three c-dramas. After the first episode I was quite disappointed. Only because I trust in you and Wang Zi Qi I kept watching. And...tata...inspite of all the things I didn't like- I couldn't stop watching anymore with a bright smile in my fave most of the time. The actors are adorable so are the characters written for them. Seems Wang Zi Qi has a talent to play the role of this kind of man every female dreams of. 🤣

Hello! Could you please review Novoland: Pearl Eclipse? Don’t you think that Yang Mi should stop playing teen-anger roles with muffled voice to make it sound like a teenager? Why is she acting backwards? It’s really awkward and it suppresses Yang Mi’s ability to hone her talents to a more role suitable to her age and stature. You know, her other adoptive brother here is said to be 20 years old. So her age here should be at least 16 but hey, does she look like it still? Zhao Lusi can very well pull this role because her face and figure is more suitable. I have watched the first drop of 8 episodes of this drama and it seemed interesting. There are just some unexplained, annoying, unreasonable attitude of the Emperor that you may want to pull his top bun and slap his antagonistic face! Hehehe. Anyways, thanks to Marcus and you who review and guide us the best Cdrama experience and more to know about your country to better understand your culture and what it symbolises. I watched both Dear Diary and Once We Got Married dramas, and I have to say that I disliked "Dear Diary," and I watched it initially due to your recommendation. The first three episodes were funny, but I found it confusing, frustrating, and annoying as the story progressed and unfolded. The acting of the cast was not great either, and the storyline is not believable and convincing. Whereas, I loved "Once We Got Married" drama, and I found myself re-watched it and also rewatching the clips on KZbin. The on-screen chemistry between 王玉雯 and 王子奇 is fantastic and adorable. It was the first time I watched any drama that started both of them. The on-screen chemistry is undeniable cute and well connected. They played those characters perfectly, and the supporting cast is good as well in comparison to "Dear Diary." I would love to see these two collaborate again in future dramas; 王子奇 is not as handsome, but the way he carried himself in this drama made him attractive, and I agree with you that he wears suits quite fitting and good looking. My ranking of the two dramas are: Dear Diary: I gave it a 4.5 out of 10 Once We got Married: I gave it 8 out of 10

Too bad.... because the story or plot was so simple and predictable that it's maybe closed to boring but for those who liked the drama, we're watching the acting between the male and female leads for their absolute on screen chemistry to create the magical performance to give us a lot of pleasure, fun and joy to watch this drama. I just search Imperial Coroner's review and find it in your channel (not the first impression). I want to watch it now. AND here I am watching the review for OWGM, that's the male lead's first drama I watched. I really want to delete some scenes from the not-really-2nd female lead and yes I agree that it doesn't bother my enjoyment. interesting.... but why? -It has a few mainstream scenes but I convince myself that aside from 2nd fl too aggressive-annoying scene, everyone is pretty reasonable considering their background, the progress between fl and ml is nice but sweeter than a lot of typical drama. I think fl and ml characters are so ALIVE. *they got the right person to act as the main characters in OWGM* great and smooth act of expression. specially that teasing or tickling parts >< -The fl is also not so stupid. I am happy. the ml is more lovable than other 'president ml' out there. man! tsundere yet protective and not shy to show his wife every time. -FORGET THE BUDGET AND SOME CRAPPY SCENE, WE FORGIVE IT. the pink bubbles aaahhh ur reaction is my reaction! lol. the amount of dog food is limitless I give up and enjoy it willingly. yes, we are the grandma, sometimes the friends lol. a few people gave bad critique to the fl as if she is the weak C-cinderella who going up thanks to 2nd ml... so, turned out they only watch the cut/3 minute version in yt *sad* -this drama didn't bring children to the show yet still melt my heart. they really made for each other. they have s* like husband and wife after a lot of episodes and do not get pregnant in early or middle episodes like others, which, plot-wise, is reasonable. the last big problem for ml also a good plot. btw, That's 2 dramas are where the main lead got a score above 8 and he hasn't acted for a lot of drama yet so, good achievement (my source is mydramalist lol)! those production teams who chose him as ml for the 2 dramas got my big respect. It suits him a lot. and personally, Si Chen and the Prince are my types. (different character yet I love both the most) where could I find them in rl.

I enjoyed Once we get Married VERY MUCH! pretty annoyed at the "second" female lead, but man.... all the sugar and supporting of each other from the FML and ML made up for it. AHhah! I was super disappointed there's no kid shows up... what...? can't they just use one of the staff's kid if they can't afford child actor? LOL!

I could remember few really ridiculous Singaporean and Malaysian sitcoms, that totally give in the ridiculous characters they were acting on as and to forget they are actually really a norm person in real life XD E.g. the characters from the famous Singaporean Mandarin sitcom series 《Liang Xi Mei 梁细妹》 , 《Liang Po Po 梁婆婆》, by Jack Neo and the whole gang, 《Phua Chu Kang》 by Gurmit Singh and the whole gang, the characters especially 'Ah Lian' the condo canteen/food hawker a.k.a. salted fish girl LMAO from the Malaysian Mandarin sitcom 《九5搭8》, Malaysian Hokkien sitcom《欢喜上课lah》, Malaysian English sitcom 《Kopitiam》, all are fantastic ridiculous sitcoms, these actors and actresses have massive potential as comedy actors and actresses because they treat the acting job with full respects and they give in so much until most the audiences don't remember actually how normal they are when they aren't at their works LOL

Once we get married is a crappy show with a crappy tropey idolish storyline (contract marriage yeah !!). I mean even with no money you can still avoid cringworthy bad cliche scenes. A good storyline does not need money. So yeah PD serves us all of the tired tropeys that have been polluting cdramas realm. For example : girl tripping while walking (yeah typical chinese FLs can't walk for sh.t whenever MLs are next to them) guy catching her arm on time before falling and then the spinning and the "staring contest"🙄🙄 yeah yeah... or the typical falling on top of each other, the stupid bickerings...a typical sh.tty modern cdrama with earbleeding dubbing.
