I’ve been in computer graphics since 1985. I started using Wacom products in the early 90s before I became an artist at Walt Disney Studios. They know what they’re doing and I am considering buying this as I have the same issue with the iPad Pro screen slipperiness. Thank you for your review. I have always been a proponent of buying the best quality products for the profession you’re in. Experience counts in this world for success Even though a lot of companies in Hollywood don’t respect experience anymore. I respect what you have to say and I value your knowledge and experience so much. Same with companies who have been around a long time. Wacom is a great product and I’m not going to be switching anytime soon.

Its really nice they are finally bringing out entry level and mid level tablets that really make it accessible for far more range of people, I would have loved this when I was young 20 odd years ago when I tried drawing with one of the first Intuos tablets which I just couldn't get used to drawing and not seeing what I am drawing directly on the tablet, having to look on the screen. I have the 16 inch model, I wish I could afford the Pro model, which btw has the best connections as it only uses a single USB C cable.

I prefer my ipad over both my wacom and my cintiq honestly. You can get screen protectors for your ipad that add that nice paper like feel. Not having a bunch of cords and stuff, being able to take it easily anywhere, just the versatility of my ipad with apple pencil has been a game changer. I looked into this one also, and it seems to be really picky about the pens you can use with it.

I found the nibs after 4 years of use. What I like about Wacom is the durability of the products, I just bought a Huion tablet and the nib wore out in a week!! And I wasn't even pressing hard, the friction itself killed the nib, now it's been a month and I've had to replace the nib 2 times, whereas the Wacom lasted 4 years of regular usage and heavy use as well. I'm switching back to Wacom once I save some money for a new tablet

Sometimes it also has to do with the texture of the tablet, sometimes some brands make the tablets with too much texture which consumes the nibs much faster

I bought this in pre-sale. I already use an Intuos Pro Small, and I really wanted to upgrade to a Pen Display. The problem is that in Brazil all Wacom products are really pricey and I can't afford nothing better. I hope the size is not a problem, since I already work in a small tablet, and had worked on a Cintiq 13'HD previously. But as I'm already an artist working in creating images, I hope this was not a "bad business". Watching your impressions on the Wacom One is reassuring. Thanks for putting this together!

In your YOU-Tube unboxing of the 2019 Wacom Cintiq 16" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXnafqiQaddmr9k ), you raved about that pen display and said it would be your choice when on the road. That one was $649 vs this unit's $399 price. Even though the Wacom One (2020) does not have the bells & whistles of the 16" Cintiq (2019) and is half the weight, are you giving up the older unit and its larger screen? Despite the added cost ($150 more), I am considering the Cintiq 16" because of the larger screen size, greater pen sensitivity and other features.
@AaronBlaiseArt4 жыл бұрын
JIMMY N I am moving to the one because it is even more portable. The 16 is still great and would probably be better for you considering the larger size and better stylus. I’m just on the road so much lecturing I want a lighter load.
@graphosxp4 жыл бұрын
This uses the old branded "penabled" EMR technology which is even older than the Intous 3. Given a choice between this or a in good condition Cintiq 12WX the 12 year old beats this new one easily. This tablet's only reason for existing is an attempt by wacom to draw customers away from the VASTLY superior Apple Ipad air or even similarly priced Huion, XP-pen etc. The price point is stupidly high for what you get. But being at least a $100 cheaper AND "Wacom" branded is enough to trip customers in making the worse choice. At this very moment Amazon is selling an ipad air (minus the pencil) for $400 so maybe wacom has done something good by releasing this crap-tastic over priced rip-off. Why am I so mad at Wacom? For years i purchased expensive penabled portables with 256 pressure and NO tilt. This was not an actual limitation of the technology instead it was crippled hardware to push customers like me to highly expensive NOT PORTABLE cintiqs. I have owned and still own lots of wacom stuff but I refuse to upgrade and reward them. My next purchase will be an apple 12" ipad pro. For the desktop I'm stuck with my old cintiq because I need stylus rotation. Hopefully apple or huion will provide that feature soon.

Ex-Pen is cheaper.
@benjamina69154 жыл бұрын
Sorry, most of the time I agree with you, but this 'cheap' Wacom's are no way the best on the market at all. Huion and XP-Pen 13" and 16" display are better and offer a lot more for you money at half price. If the Wacom's were $200 cheaper they might be an option, but asking more for a lot less in 2020 isn't the way to do things anymore. Wacom could charge higher prices when they were solo players, they aren't anymore and should start rethinking their overcharging policy. For $400 I expect a laminated screen and express keys and for sure 2 buttons on my pen..... oh, hang on, that's exactly what the competition offers for half price.

Nothing in my experience yet has come anywhere close to a Wacom Cintiq. Sorry just hasn’t. Some people like Toyota’s and some like BMWs... they are both cars but they drive and behave differently.

Benjamin A Yeah we got a Wacom circlejerk hater. You’re just rambling about the price and not the actual product itself? Sure the price is odd for a tablet like this but not everyone likes an XP-Pen or Huion. Nothing is perfect. Just because the product is better and has an advantage doesn’t mean that everyone will like it.

Benjamin A Maybe you should offer Wacom your services in economic enlightenment.
