and yet it probably cost 10 or 15 bucks to make. Very overpriced for 2 little pieces of plastic, with what is essentially a makeshift stand.

I think the Wacom One should have a built-in base to be able to work just as the pen should be included. It is the same movement that Apple makes with its chargers for its equipment

When it comes to a Apple Product and this is that Apple (example iPad) works out of the box without a charger. This tablet not so much.

I think they should include a pen too. But I think what they are going for is customization. As for cords not being included I think it's because if you included them people only need one and the other two usually just end up being wasted. For my old one they ended up in a junk drawer.

@@JezzLundkvist Wacom products are very good, but here I think they want to get a little more money from people! On the other hand, I still don't understand why Apple didn't enter into direct competition with Wacom considering that Apple was always aimed at creatives.

@@AaronBlaiseArt I agree with you AAron, the pencil has to be included with the tablet, imagine buying a car and that car does not have wheels, because the wheels are sold separately! It's crazy, right? That's why I think it's a market movement in that sense

Wacom keeps getting greedier and greedier its so sad and pathetic. Here's an idea. Instead of buying the stand just buy the box and place it under your tablet and voila you have a stand.

Honestly not including a pen is a dealbreaker for me, to me that is pure greed and would leave a bad taste in my mouth, it leaves out all first time buyers.

One thing I would like to include for people is to remember that not all the laptops/computers allow usb-c to usb-c connection for these tablets. So if you are were considering to use less space it might cost you more. Make sure to check your laptops specifications!

Is it me or the display looks very dark? Or maybe it's the camera's view angle?

It's probably the camera angle and exposure reaction. Mine is the model without touch, and it can get pretty bright if you want it to, thankfully it does have a preference panel to adjust brightness.

For a beginner device, i would advice against it. The price is quite steep for 13.2 inches. E.g. a cintiq 22 (standard) + metal standard combo is under 1000 usd. (less than double the price, you get more than double the size) and you also have the 16 inch model. e.g. (if 22 is just a tad too large). All under 1000 bucks. But in the case of traveling, this might indeed be a good device (although as said, quite expensive for the size)
@ikuyimii8415

This size will be perfect for me as I'm someone with small build. 16 inch is too big and I don't have a desk. Perfect to draw on bed while connect to laptop. But yeah definitely over priced...but I would LOVE to buy this. I rarely see graphic tablets have touch functions that didn't reach $1000+

Hey Aaron, thanks for the video. From watching you draw, I noticed there is a delay between your hand and the strokes appearing on screen. This doesn't seem optimal to me, and I'd like to know if this bothered you at all when using it. I am a Wacom user myself. Still using my Intuos 3 that I bought back in 2008. If I ever intend on upgrading, it would be to a Cintique. I also appreciate your covering the process of the different add-ons and other accessories. I am a bit puzzled as to why the pen case and the pen itself come separately. I can understand if you want to customize a colour or replace the case for some reason, but I fee like right off the bat, people would want to have a full pen ready to be used. Same goes for the supporters that come separately. Yes - you could find a cheaper solution, but I believe they could've created a built-it modifiable angled support. Just some thoughts here. I do not expect you to have the answers obviously. Thanks again for showcasing the product.

I Am still running my PTZ-630 from 2004- I just put a new nib (6-8th in its life) yesterday! But y'know, my inutos 3 from back in the day actually not only came with the pen, the wire i do wish was replaceable like modern ones but mine is hardwired, it also came with this really nice pen holder. Thanks for being here, Aaron

@someuser4166

For me it being so small is a posetive. I like having my iPad in my lap but sometimes you need the power of desktop apps. The small form factor and touch makes it appealing to me but knowing how horrible the windows touch intergeneration is as well as hardly any drawing apps supporting proper touch navigation (you can see how sluggish it is at 11:56. Compare that to any drawing app on a phone or tablet) that combined with the unreasonable price for what it is makes it unviable. They don't even allow you to decide what the touch gestures do beyond their prefabs. They should allow you to remap the gestures to macros so you could map two finger tap to ctrl Z. The native "undo" prefab doesn't work in all apps so having it just press ctrl Z would be a lot more reliable

The visual connectivity sheet (you showed at the start of the video) and the Quick Start sheet sure don't make connectivity simple since (1) Wacom One has two USB-C ports-which one to use? Seems like either, (2) What causes the use of the power? No statement anywhere, and (3) on one of the diagrams you can insert other devices (like mouse, keyboard) and there is no description if it can be used to provide power. Also, they show a lanyard for the pen assembly, yet no lanyard and no way to order one. Thanks for mentioning the driver installation which you will need for register to your account. Love this, Aaron. I have bought some of your brush packs but haven't purchased your tutorial videos so I think I will get the subscription as long as you really get into using Photoshop instead of Corel Painter (and some of the other drawing/painting apps. BTW, you are about the only positive force coming out of Florida these days! I too am a Wacom fanboy--I bought the Wacom One 12 AND 13 Touch. (I'm Craigslist'ing my old Wacom devices). Even with the backcase attached, I found this to be a great case on Amazon. Let me know if anyone wants the name of it.

Ever since your "Walter" video of several years ago, I have used a Cintiq with Photoshop for my digital drawing and painting needs. I like that, but it's not really that portable. I have tried to use an iPad with Procreate, but somehow found it awkward. It seems that the ergonomics of typing commands to move layers around, open files, and read email are incompatible with the ergonomics of working at an "easel" on a single drawing or painting. So, are you saying that you would put Photoshop on your computer but put the canvas on the Wacom One? That sounds like something that might work!

I've gone through all of your unboxing of Wacom One (older), Wacom 16, Wacom 16 pro. I have the Wacom 16, bought 2yrs ago. My question is, how exactly do you configure the screen situation with your tablet and computer? I'm finding it annoying to have to go back and forth between the computer and the tablet-I have to pull down Photoshop into the tablet screen, but then if there is a pop up, it's on the computer screen and I have to stop and grab that! How do you make it so that you are ONLY using the tablet screen AS the computer screen working with the software? Still cannot get used to the toggle back and forth and it interrupts drawing.
@ChrisRojasSound

You have to set up the tablet as the "main monitor" and any pop-ups should appear on the selected display (in this case, the tablet). Hope this helps!

Hey Aaron! I've been following you and recommending your channel and site as often as I can to anyone seeking to grow as an artist. I've been a fan of Wacom nearly as long as you've been, and I'm finding my Wacom Cintiq 12WX is obsolete (except on my 2009 MacBook Pro), and my Cintiq 24HD isn't far behind. I'm looking at the new Pro 17 and 22, seeking a bit more compactness from that 24HD mammoth (which I love, but should never be moved). The cord simplicity of newer Cintiqs is very appealing. Have you tried either of these new ones, after this One review?

Sorry, but Wacom doesn't get my support anymore. Since this is entry level it should include everything in the box you need to get going for a decent price. That's not the case. It's confusing to order and completely overpriced. Buying a Huion 16 2021 is a way better deal. It's cheaper than this, just as good and ships with everything you need... plus a lot more comfortable screen size. If you can't afford the 16" version, then Huion has a 13" pen display too, which is just as good as this one, well arguably better at a much lower entry level price. An entry level pen display that doesn't come with a pen or cables is ridiculous, just another way to rip off customers and make them pay extra. On top of that a silly stand for $45? Sorry Wacom, we knew you were overpriced, but this is bordering insanity.

Hmm, well for €456 I got a Huion that is twice the size and shipped it from the Netherlands to Hungary for free. Came with glove, stand, stylus and a single cable with 3 ends. All in all, Wacom is a good quality brand but they are just like Apple. They know their brand worth and are overpricing for giving less. Those stands are really embarrassing. It is sad, that they do this but hey, gives the competition more way. Huion used to be a cheap Chinese knockoff and is now a quality competitor. I like the bear tho :)
