Rebekah Vardy has lost her High Court libel battle with Coleen Rooney, bringing the so-called Wagatha Christie trial to a close.
Mrs Rooney, wife of footballer Wayne Rooney, conducted a sting operation in 2019, publicly accusing Mrs Vardy, wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, of leaking private stories about her.
But Mrs Vardy has always denied being the person who passed information about Mrs Rooney to the Sun newspaper.

But couldn't provide the prove that she wasn't the one encouraging her agent to sell stories because the agents mobile decided to take a swim in a ocean. Rebecca should have just admitted the truth and said sorry years ago then she could have saved herself the humiliation.

Was her PAs phone that allegedly went in the sea, what sealed her fate was that by sheer coincidence, her laptop was also unavailable to be handed over to the forensic investigators as per the court order! The court were legally correct in taking inference that both devices held information that Vardy didn’t want the court to see that would be detrimental to her case…as it was, they got the information anyway, cause they also ordered Jamie’s phone so were able to see what she’d been sending to her PA…thick as mince!

Reminds me of when someone in a newspaper article called the coronation street actor William roache (ken Barlow) boring and he sued them for libel. He lost off course and nearly went bankrupt. That something is boring is not provable but just a personal opinion, for example i find the game of cricket boring but someone else might find it exciting , it's not provable one way or the other . If he had just let the article go then it would only be known about by those who read it on that one day in a paper and they would have forgotten about it , by bringing legal action he brought it to the attention of millions and it's still remembered now over 20 years later. Vardy will always be remembered for this. Coleen didn't say it was Rebecca Vardy , she said it was Rebecca Vardys account which is completely different . Once it was established that it was this account there was always only going to be one winner.

I see she has now come out and spoken about abuse she suffered as a child in a bid to help others in similar situation. The skeptic in me thinks that if it did happen is she the best advocate to advise folks who've experienced abuse to come forward?
