I feel really sorry for Aaron Burr, he's the villain and doesn't even have bad intentions. It's the fact that he's too scared of losing the legacy his parents gave him that makes him wait for the opportunity to come, making the wrong decisions on the long run. And when he finally learns the lesson of "not throwing away his shot" knowing that he has something to lose (his daughter), he ends up killing Hamilton who did "throw away his shot".

This is the difference between Alexander and Aaron. Alexander takes every possible shot he can, knowing that he does have some to lose, and that motivates him. but Aaron waits for the opportunity to come to him. He believes that the opportunity will show itself at one time. He too has something to lose, but the fear of losing it keeps him from pursuing his goals rather than motivating him. He’s not supposed to be the bad guy. The whole play goes through his life too because I’m pretty sure he’s the deuteragonist. He kills Hamilton but at the end he points out how he’s the villain in history which I think is trying to point out how Hamilton is depicting a different person than that as depicted by a mostly one sided history itself. Either the musical has a different Burr than in real life or they’re saying Burr had a lot of heart and motivation. Either way, in my opinion Burr is not the villain-and also in my opinion he’s a way nicer and likable person (in the musical) than Hamilton.

This is not only my favorite "Wait for It" animatic, it's one of my favorite Hamilton animatics. The visuals are so good! Especially 2:24-2:45! Even though Hamilton is not really there and all of this is in Burr's mind, the dynamic angles while still maintaining the character's positions makes the confrontation more physical and real for the audience, and by extension, makes the audience feel that it's more real for Burr as well. I feel like many people try to stick too much to realism when they animate these songs (as in, what is probably actually going on [e.g. a character standing and emoting]), and they don't focus on the song and what it means for the characters involved and the largely mentally-contained nature of their singing it. Thank you so much! This is really good!

Everyone says Burr is the bad guy, but if you really think about it, he did almost nothing wrong. He waits for thing to come to him. He has discipline, patience. When he got his shot at being president, he felt his whole life had worked to that point. And then Hamilton, one of his best friends, rips it away from him. His world was over, he felt his life was meaningless, and he was angry. He knew it was over, and all because of Hamilton. So what he did was right in my mind.

I just realized that the line, "Hamilton faces an endless uphill climb," has two meanings. First, an uphill climb is a phrase used to mean that something will be difficult to achieve. Given Hamilton's whole backstory, this is definitely true. The other meaning is that, if this climb is endless, he will keep rising up without any limits. This ends up being false as we see when Hamilton peaks near the middle of the musical and then his life starts to fall apart bit like by bit.

hi! i watched this back in 2017 and this is the first ever song i listened of hamilton and in the musical genre. i watched this a lot till i discovered hamilton and listened to the soundtrack. then i began to listen to many other musicals because of ur beautiful animatic! Thank you!

This is the best one I have seen so far!! I love the expressions and fluidity of the movements plus the use of the other characters, especially Hamilton and Burr's parents, ugh just brilliant! If you decide to do more I can't wait to see them!

OK um I watch this amazing show called 'Person of Interest' and Leslie Odom Jr. is one of the main bad guy characters and I really liked him, and then I heard this song and I was like " hey who plays Burr?" And I found out and thought he looked really familiar and I looked up who playes Peter Collier and I love him so much more now.
