Curious about the new mini, if powerful enough I may go for it!

Very great video, mate! Subscribed to support you. I myself waiting for an M4 Max or M4 Ultra Mac Studio. Can't say that my 2019 desktop PC that cost me nearly $3,400 is bad, no serious problems despite being a custom PC but following the motherboard recommendations when building it and not using the second m.2 slot that takes 25% of power from the main GPU! Such BS is what drives some people mad and can't find the problem. I want the Mac Studio as a portable desktop and for being optimized for H.265 encoding and decoding. I can easily work on projects without proxies when using H.265 4K@24fps 4:2:2 10bit footage. It gets hairy when I add VFX or when I use H.265 4K@120fps 4:2:2 10bit "real time with audio" from my Sony A7SIII. Macbook Pro is kinda expensive and I tend to prefer desktops and large screens. If you have DaVinci Resolve Studio try voice isolation tool to cut out some of the echo, 50-80% would be perfect. Also I'm using Sony Xperia 1v, impressive tool that can be a monitor and a 1080p recorder if wanna explain how the camera works.

Thanks man! I have been using laptops all my life but I realise I rarely edit on the go, so desktop makes a lot of sense. Will try the voice isolation tip. Audio is one of my weak points for sure. I just got a DJI MIC 2 that I think has improved my audio quite a bit.

@@josealcoy It's mostly the area around can be echoy. Using voice isolation at 50-80% helps a lot withiut sounding unnatural. As for the Mac Studio you can buy a portable screen as well that you can carry around, there are good and affordable ones. I'm 100% a desktop guy but some portability would help in some situations.

i'm waiting for M4 Max Mac Studio, but I don't think Apple sells a lot of these machines they favour the Macbooks so we'll have to wait until mid 2025 it seems

I know.. I think I can wait, otherwise buying a refurb or second hand M2 is always an option :-)

Good video, you've explained the same reason why I switched to Mac for work. It's just ridiculously stable and my general stress levels are down when using it, because I know I'm not gonna end up running into one of windows' quirks. I still have my PC for gaming but that's the only responsibility it now has. Looking forward to see if you get yourself an M4 Mac Studio. Subscribed

Thanks a lot! Yeah, it is really frustrating, the time and mental energy that goes into that.. I think next year would be perfect timing for me :-)

Already have m2 studio though !!! why not get it then. The difference between m chips year over year is minimal whatsoever as even m1 is on par with m3 in almost 90% of tasks.
@josealcoy5 ай бұрын
Of course M1 Mac Studio is more than enough for my needs. I just get a kick out of buying newly released technology, unless I really can't wait or I come accross a very good opportunity, but here in Europe they are not easy to find :-)
@sameersheriff70785 ай бұрын
@@josealcoyBut sadly its not as exciting as we think as the upgrades from previous generation is too minimal but maybe we can be excited for raytracing and the graphic capabilities it offers and see if it could rival dedicated graphics cards from Nvidia. You're in Europe !! oh no, there are already rumours that Apple Intelligence might not be available there so must hope that it doesn't happen!!!

If Davinci Resolve is your editor of choice, why not give Linux a try? Some distros focus on long term stability and you won't have windows style issues

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just want something that works without having to tinker with it :-)

I don't hate Macs, but really who are you kidding. Windows does not have any more stability issues than Apple has, and it has way more compatibility with different hardware. But then again you're probably comparing a $300 Windows laptop with a $2000 Mac studio. Seriously if you are needing to reboot daily you have F'd up your system.

Maxed out DellXPS 15 (close to $2000), clean Win11 install, still tons of problems..
