In the comics, Riri Williams became Iron Heart after she reverse engineered one of Tony Stark's Iron Man suits. The way you make it sound, they have retconned her origin in the MCU to make it so that she didn't have to rely on a man to get her start as a superhero. That would be par for the course. They even ruined She-Hulk's origins. In the comics, she was saved by Bruce Banner when he gave her a transfusion of his blood. In the MCU, his blood accidentally got into a cut she received from a car accident they were both in. There is literally no reason to change these origin stories except to remove any connection to men that these characters may have.

Y'know, what I find funny about this whole- "But I can't Identify with a character if they don't have the same skin color as me!" Is that more than anything, it must show what a tiny imagination you must have. How about we bring up films like "Babe" or "Wall-E", where the main characters aren't even HUMAN and anyone with a heart that isn't dead can identify with them.

You hit the nail in the head. Martin Luther King said ; "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." That’s where movies like you mentioned, wall-e, babe, stand out because they are character driven not race or gender driven. We love movies like that. Get use to this new crap of movies. we need to stop going to watch this poorly scripted movies and show them this is not what we want to watch and you can’t make us. @Richard Rivera it's also deeply offensive how often people try to cherry pick King's words and condense them into a talking point that's neatly thrown out as a catch all. Here is something else he said right after, in which he echoes exactly what I'm saying. “In their relations with Negroes, white people discovered that they had rejected the very center of their own ethical professions, “They could not face the triumph of their lesser instincts and simultaneously have peace within. And so, to gain it, they rationalized - insisting that the unfortunate Negro, being less than human, deserved and even enjoyed second class status … White men soon came to forget that the Southern social culture and all its institutions had been organized to perpetuate this rationalization. They observed a caste system and quickly were conditioned to believe that its social results, which they had created, actually reflected the same world"

Oh, and to power the suit, he needed access to a power source that could jump start the reactor, something even he needed to get rare access to, something that could drain an entire city's power grid, easily. @0Defensor02 жыл бұрын
@@witchplease9695 I'm only a casual fan, so unfortunately I can't give you a complete list of black female characters in superhero stories. I know that there is Storm who was the leader of the X-Men, and Monica Rambeau who was the original (and most popular version of) Captain Marvel and the leader of the Avengers. May I tell you something weird? It seems like that in Mexico, Dragon Ball and Goku are just as popular if not more, than Christianity and Jesus. Which would mean that the people in Mexico are being inspired by the modernized Japanese interpretation of a Chinese myth - if I'm following this correctly. They have absolutely nothing in common! But you're telling me that black women are unable to be inspired by anyone who isn't an other black woman? Why? This wasn't the case with the original Star Wars movies for example, a lot of people regardless of their gender or skin color liked and were inspired by Luke. As for Riri, if I remember correctly, her teacher originally told her that she can be anything she want, thanks to the achievements of the countless black women before her. But she demanded to be told that she can't be something, to take it as "inspiration" and prove that her teacher was wrong. And instead of her teacher telling her something that is physically impossible (like breathing in space for example), Riri was told that she will never be Ironman. Her motivation to gain super powers is spite, which logically means that she should be a villain instead, or at least an anti-hero. And speaking of representation in media, Riri's "character" is black woman, and her "trait" is being better than everyone, especially white men - which seem to overlap with an awful amount of black female characters nowadays. Unless we're talking about an already popular character who has been blackwashed for exclusively marketing reasons, a trend that disproportionately affects gingers for some weird reason. The industry throws you the smallest thing that technically counts as a bone, and you're happy about it! Why is the least available enough for you? Why don't you demand more? Why don't you demand better?

2:55 As someone who actually spends time around real geniuses, being in aerospace engineering, Shuri and Riri are NOTHING like them. Not even a little bit. Shuri and Riri remind me more of theater kids with their massively inflated ego and aggressive behavior. Also, Riri literally commit multiple crimes by doing another students work so she should be immediately expelled from MIT. Breaking the law and risking being expelled, for a couple hundred bucks as an engineer, is NOT a genius move. If anything it makes her a villain. You're not supposed to take advantage of your peers for money, we're supposed to help teach each other.
