I’ve had one for a little under 12 months. Perfect for ‘pottering’ around the back roads in Snowdonia. Simple motorcycling at its best with very little cost!

I love the fact you try so many different style of bikes and find most of them have some endearing qualities. Some have loads of tec and some don't and you never decry the basic ones. I'm in the less is more camp so i do like Royal Enfields, would i swop my GoldStar for this scram, certainly not but it is a nice bike.

Good looking bike reminds me of my old SLR650 that I had for 9 years,fun little thumper.

I remember the SLR650. I'd imagine that was far superior. I quite fancied one as a second bike at one point.

Ive got a Scram 411 , recently fitted the TEC camshaft which gives the bike a little more performance , fitted a side bag , and its perfect for local trips and have done days out , ridden this and a Royal Enfield Interceptor more than my Rocket 3GT , or a BMW R1200R , they wont get you in any trouble , economical , inexpensive fun ,

Had mine for nearly two years as my daily commuter. No complaints apart from the clock which is incapable of maintaining the correct time and the very pessimistic fuel guage which shows empty with 7 litres left in the tank.

Now the new Himalayan 450 is out, it can only be a few months until we get a 40bhp Scram 450. Now that should be quite something!

Already spotted testing in India. The launch may come next year since RE won't want to hinder Himy and the production line would be stressed

This is a good bike , A Himalayan with her dress off and a smaller bits on front, Very good engine, This as you know is not a super Bike, but she is a Superb Bike, A bit of road plus on road, The Himalayan's on road in a fast corner is ? and this bike will not get you into trouble, I have been around the world of road racing and involved in some wonderful thing's , I can assure any young rider with the legs that this is a good safe machine, The Scram & Himalayan good, I still have Honda's , Yamaha's so I am not being a Royal Enfield fruit cake, 🛵.

@@UsernameKate You r are welcome username Kate, in my home town in Berkshire we have loads of dealerships from the Motorsports Thames Valley in my town we have Triumph, Honda Harley and Indian, it would be great if you did a review of the Indian FTR rally or the Triumph scrambler XE I think the best all round complete bike for touring or cruising. IN Oxford there is more with Ducati and the likes of BMW-either way safe riding and god bless you on your bikes as always!

There will be a scrambler version on the new 450 platform called the Guerrilla I think which will be coming out soon. Royal Enfield are also working on an update to this bike as well actually with a Scram 440, which will supposedly come out at some point in the next year. It will be derived from the same air/oil cooled engine as the current Scram 411, just with a bigger CC capacity that gives it more power. Not sure on what else will be updated (things like LED lights potentially?).

It’s probably a good budget minded bike for sure. I noticed that no parking sign when you started rolling the bike forward and backward😂

The 3k service intervals, is not as bad as it seems. 3K, is a general look over and valve clearance check. 6K, is oil/filter etc. 9K spark plug change. It's the same as the Himalayan, and not at all expensive.
@Theorangeman.8 ай бұрын
Not a bad looking bike to be fair. But for me i would rather have the himi, I like that you can strap on fuel cans on the front frame for the longer distances
@vf51268 ай бұрын
Which Himi..? I’ve the original, father of this Scram, and agree with you. If it’s the ‘new Himi,’ no thanks..
@MrHws5mp8 ай бұрын
I always liked the chunky utilitarianism of the Himalayan and nearly bought a 2nd had one, but the low power and 3000 mile service intervals put me off and in the end, I bought something else. I'm looking at the 452 with interest though. The 452's frame's completely different from the 411 so the latter's looks aren't going to survive the switchover. There's no reason why they couldn't do four models with the 452: Himalayan: 21" wheel, full crash bars, hand guards and "adventure" panniers, Scram: nekkid with a 19" front, Scram-Tour: as above, but with road-style panniers, bigger screen, Himi hand-guards & heated grips, Street: nekkid with cast wheels, 17" front, sharp headlight unit with LED lights and racy graphics.
