Looks way better with the badges. Some people have no real idea of style. I mean you could even repaint them a custom color And make the badges look how u want them. But it definitely completes the look

We here at the horse rental farm love these motorcycles...we do not have a problem with the side cases bulging out... some seem to think being bow legged cowboys and girls has a up side beside always getting a cool breeze blowing thru our Netherlands...the bike sounds so easy going and without stress...great low price for all their bikes and they all look wonderful ...

Took both the Scram & the Himalayan out on the track at ABR last weekend. Both cracking machines. For me the Himalayan the better of the two off road by far. Agree on the back brake being vague but that could be down to me as rarely use the rear when riding on road so not used to rear only braking as required off road. I'm no off road rider at all but felt really comfy on both the Scram & Himalayan. RE producing some smashing bikes throughout their range. Nice video BTW

You have some great country side over there: Around where I live here in Oz; the biggest safety feature , is having to think for all the weekend gawkers in the country side, who never see you, I mean riding a 16.2 h.h. Grey Horse and me in a yellow vest, so you can imagine riding the KLR was fraught at times ; having a Bike that is reasonably light and easy to handle is a boon, and getting into really interesting places, is a lot of fun ; having Granite, my horse has an added safety feature , where I could jump over a fence or two , to escape the tourists: Once again, enjoy the videos mate; Cheers:

This is an example of how to make an awesome bike that everyone gets. This is the bike Harley should have made with the new engine. That aside cast you mind back 15 years, 400 cc was the normal and $8K was what most people paid. Now if you were 25 wanted to get a bike for under 9k you could get the bike the gear the helmet use your backpack, pay the registration and insurance and have change for a holiday. 😮 I love my Iron 883 but it’s got limited abilities out side the CBD.

Bad breaks are a pretty good safety feature. For example if my breaks were not functioning at all I wouldn't want to even ride. No ride, no injury. Jokes aside I really am having a hard time deciding between the Scram, Himalayan, Hunter or Classic. There are things I like about all of them and things I would dislike not choosing one or the other. No matter which I choose I feel that I will be missing something. Which may mean I will be happy with any of them. But could also mean I will be disappointed by any of them.

The Scram is plenty off-road for the money, scramblers in all are very capable bikes, without the fancy long suspension. Going too fast on the trails and true rough terrain is not recommended, but it's the same story on most adventure bikes, with the added expense and repair cost. Spoken so true, it's a road bike that can do off-road, and for a cost of a big scooter, without the maintenance of the scooter transmission. Enfield are the smartest motorcycle firm, in my opinion, like the Japanese used to be, before the marketing guys got the upper hand.

To oil your chain you can get a peace of wood and hold the bike up by putting it under the swing arm they also make a tool for doing this makes live so much easer. For some one reviewing bikes I am surprised you do not know about these. I use it with my KTM 390 all the time to lube the chain. can't think of the name of it wright now but it is adjustable for differing bikes. It folds in the center and just push it to lock it once in place. Went to the shed and got it, It is a SmapJack V2 Variable and comes with a strap to hold the front break on for safety.

Loving your videos keep up the good work . would love to have a holiday in your cottage and ride the old scram round some of your lovely roads ,i don't suppose you do motorbike hire ? as i think coming from Essex would be pushing it a bit on the old scram lol .

Always liked the Himalayan. The Scram seems to have done a classic RE and found another niche. I have always found 30 to 50hp good for most things, so as with the Himalayan, the Scram would benefit from one of the +20% cams available. I understand this was a test bike, but I find it a little surprising ppl complaining about the gear leaver length, without modifying them. 20 minutes with a hack saw, file and welder, plus a scrap of metal. Paint as you please. Come on guys.

I like the Scram, but a similar kind of bike which you may not have seen, Ol' Man, is the Fantic Caballero 500 Scrambler, a 449cc, four-valve single with 19'' wheels, front and back. More expensive than the 411 but a better bike, I'd argue.

Poor brakes as a safety feature? I've never quite thought of that - but on reflection they are! I spent two winters commuting across the Pennines on a MZ 250. Loved the bike, hated the brakes (until I did the front brake TLS mod) - as a result I rode that much more carefully especially in snow. Moreover my guess is that the Scrams brakes are infinitely better than a modded MZ 250!

Dang! Ol'man, you're living in a biker's paradise, can't fault your thinking in moving there!👍 Anyway, to the bike. I'd put it in the same class as the Triumph Street Scrambler. Yes, they WILL do mild off road but with many compromises. I guess you could easily mod them to be a bit more off road friendly with different tyres and gearing changes etc and still keep some ability on tarmac. I've done a couple of tentative green lanes in the dry on my Triumph but I wouldn't dream of taking it anywhere near some of the tracks I've done on the Enduro bike. On the other hand I've been off the Enduro twice on the road. Wet tarmac and knobblies don't mix well!😂 I have to mention the price of the RE which would probably make me more likely to venture off road with it than the £10k Triumph or, heaven forbid, a £££££ Adventure bike! 😀

I'm really excited for the Scram 411, it should launch here by month's end as it really fits my a little of this and a little of that type of riding but in Malaysia offroad light can suddenly become full on Enduro if one gets caught out. I once went on a rather la di da camping trip, it was all good fun but it rained heavily the night before, the next morning same la di da trail became a testy high difficulty full on Motorcross trail on the exit and jungles really keeps you honest, there's going to be damage, you will fall off, it's just going to be how much and how many times 😂.

Saw one up close last week. Seems like a bargain at the price. A good looking, practical and fun motorcycle. I prefer it to the Himalayan. I've heard people complain about the discoloured exhaust, but if it's only discolouration and not rust that wouldn't be an issue for me - gives it a more rugged look. The side pods are fine too - they could save you a lot of money if you dropped it.

I'm 6'2" as well and about your size (which is why I always check your reviews to see how you fit on a bike), looking for a bike to ride weekends on back roads to local pub etc - which do you find more comfortable: the Classic 350, Scram, or the Himalayan? If I added the Int 650 or the Conti GT are either of those better suited for taller riders? Cheers!

I have ridden it yesterday and for me its better than hymalayan. Im 194cm tall and my knees are hitting metal bar on hymalayan. Scram doesn't have this issue. Also seat on scram is better. On hymalayan i was fallin on tank and crushing my balls. Scram is gr8 bike to city and some loose, gravel roads in forest or fields

I felt that you were road testing the 411 as you ever tested the Himalayan😁. I never thought about using these kind of boots in such urban bike🤔. Besides ....why everybody drives off road ( green lanes mostly) as if they were in a dirty race track, putting all their attencion on the ground? In fact what off road has more gratifiing in a bike like this is to see the lanscapes and the environment as well as profitingt from a low rev torque. I felt that the suspensions (dumping and travel) were not the proper ones for those kinds of "radical" exercises.

Perhaps Royal Enfield is thinking the Himalayan is for areas much less developed, the Scram for area that are more developed but to the level of Europe in general: And to be used as primary transportation. Where as we tend to think more in terms of joy riding on pavement, dirt or green lanes in which case we tend to buy more focused machines. Thinking out loud here.

Our local RE dealer has five of these to choose from which is a vote of confidence here in New Zealand. However I’m holding out for a Triumph Street Scrambler, second hand. But they don’t come along very often with our 5 million small population. I’m of the opinion that a good second hand Triumph will outlive and of course outperform a RE?? Also I can’t get my head around so much plastic on the RE!

Scramblers are always good off road they have the ground clearance just need dual purpose tires. This one's less weight than the Himalayan? Himalayan issue is it's heavy for it's power output. This one looks better too. In the scrambler segment I think only Husqvarna is actually competing with the amazing Triumph and Ducati scramblers. A scrambler you can take to curvy roads and then also run down a trail that's about as much fun as you'll have a motorbike lol... got to have one in the garage.

I live in Phoenix Az in the rocky ass desert. I have a scrambler and I beat it to death off road and I wear Van's. I only wear boats on dirt bikes because they have the straight up riding position. It's almost pointless to wear boots if you can't pivot the bike it way to low of a riding position.

To my eye, those Scram end-caps are the biggest eye-sore on the bike; I'd rather it go naked without them ... maybe use the pipe to hold old bubble-gum? Unfortunately, the Himalayan looks to me like it was put together from an erector set (we had as kids). The "Classic" looks nice, but I'd rather spend time riding than polishing chrome! Ahh, what's a lad to do?

Hey Ol' Man! Just got a Scram 411 mostly for urban use. But I'll probably put it to some off road now and then. The thing you felt abou the rear brake, being vague, did you have the ABS turned off? I know it doesn't have a switch but one could always remove the fuse and have it disabled...
