Walkaround Mahindra 5155

When we sell a tractor, we always do a "walk around" with each tractor. We do this to let customers know where to perform daily checks, grease, and basic operation techniques. I bought a 5145 in April of 2022. I am very glad I chose the 5145 Mahindra. I worked as a line Mechanic in the local Massey dealership in 1980+ and have been connected to tractors all of my adult life. I am impressed. Thanks for the walk-around. You did a better job than most.

I have a 2023 5155 bought new. I love this tractor. W.R. Long 3rd function kit added, and I use my grapple most of all. I'm right at 50 hours now, this tractor is a beast!

Cool! Make sure and take a look at the service chart in the manual. I believe that unit has an initial 50 hour break in service that should be completed. Glad you like it and thanks for sharing the good word!

@@MurphyBrothersTradingCo Yes Sir... for my 50 hour service, I'm taking it to my dealership. I have the Mahindra extended warranty, and want to make sure the service is done correctly. I'm good for fluid changes and such, but definitely getting the 50 hour service done by the Mahindra techs. Thanks for a great video! These tractors really are work horses!

How does Mahindra bypass the regulations for DEF and DPF? Curious because that is a great selling point these days..

Mahindra spent a HUGE amount of money developing the MCRD family of engines. MCRD stands for Mahindra Common Rail Diesel. They use a catalytic convertor in lieu of a DPF. This is still a computerized engine. I leave the details as deep as HOW they do it to my techs, but I can only assume the timing and fuel delivery is changed while running to produce less particulate. We have been a Mahindra dealer since 2019 and have not replaced a convertor yet. We see VERY few issues from the MCRD engines. Usually when we do, it is bad fuel. Thanks, Chris Murphy

My 5145 3 pt linkage has never raised all the way up. I didn’t know until I watched other videos and saw lower linkage elevated above ground parallel. I just had 50 hr service, so hydraulic fluid level is good. I’ve cycled 3 pt linkage control knob several times, w/o success. Don’t know what else to do. Any ideas?

Have your dealer check the lever. It could be set out of range... possibly?

How do you get it to stop beeping? No lights on the dash, tried resetting all the trip meters, read the service manual. Driving me crazy...

Check park brake. Hard to diagnose without seeing the tractor. I suggest taking it to your dealer if park brake isn't the issue. I THINK they also have a service/maintenance indicator beep when something is due to service. Has to be reset after service is performed. This procedure is in manual.

One beep source is the momentary PTO disengage lever. Make sure the main PTO lever is in the disengaged position, then move the other spring loaded lever to the engaged position.

What does that tractor weigh with the loader? Any ideas?

About 5300 plus 1800 for loader~7100 lbs

The weight on the tractor alone is 5390 lbs. Mahindra has not published the weight of the loader. However, I would feel confident the tractor with loader will weigh at least 7000 lb. I'd bet @chrisheyer3974 is correct.

@1553Ranch tractor data says the 65b backhoe attachment is 1100lbs, so probably puts the machine with loader around 8000 lbs or so

I have had my 4530 for about 5 years with no problems. It is a 45 hp non-turbo. They hide some of the grease fittings under the floor pan in front of the seat. The change to the joystick location, the transmission fill port, and the 3 range transmission look like nice improvements. I have had to change the battery once so its position in front of the radiator was no problem since the battery had a lifting handle. . I use a 12 volt submersible pump to fuel the tractor so the fuel filler in front of the dash is not a problem. The 5155 looks like another solidly built tractor.
