Also shows the advantage of measuring everything, before reassembling, about to get my engine out of my Yamaha XJ600 ready for the Winter disassembly.....

Just a late comment on the Walker Name. There is a TM beside the image that normally means trade mark in some parts of the world. Quickly checked the NZ image and Word registry for local and internation trademarks and could not find it though that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.. However as Matt mentioned PKN Trading is both in Scotland and New Zealand with the principal person for both Nik Walker. PKN is located in Nelson in NZ. PKN is listed as a brand promoter and distributor for companies. They only show three on their website one being Pyramid. The domain walkerclutches.co.nz was first registered in 2013 and has been paid for until next year when it is up for renewal. The person that the domain is registered to is Nik Walker. So I think you can safely say that Walker Clutches are PKN and that they are probably behind Pyramid Parts. Everything appears to go back to PKN and on the Pyramidparts.com site the only address provided for Contact Us is the Scottish PKN one and all the various email contacts for the various countries including the USA are a firstname.pyramidparts@gmail.com. From this it would indicate that items are packaged as Pyramid having been sourced globally and Walker are one of the brand names used. I know I'm full of useless information. :)

Now that's interesting. I'm running a Walker set of plates and springs in my ER5 right now. 2 weeks in, pretty good. No slippage at all. Pyramids Parts: I've had good luck with their fork seals before, although they seem to be made of the hard plastic (rather than soft rubber) that rival Ebay sellers of different marques decry.

I was trying to be as non bias as possible but I'm not holding my breath. Mainly due to the fact that the company seems to be hidden away, which is usually never a good sign but we'll see. It would be great if you could keep me updated - matt

Will do. I put the new springs in but kept the old ones, just in case. I had to adjust the clutch cable, but they seem really good. But I didn't buy them for 2 weeks' use. I really expect them to last at least a year.

I hope they last too, don't wanna be opening up the clutch after all this work. Thanks for the comment dude - matt

is it possible that the friction and clutch disc pack is thicker in total size so the springs engage earlier?

So how were they? You said you'd do a follow up but I don't see one.
@MrLdvo6 жыл бұрын
were they any good? have somebody tested them? did it clogged the oil filter?

Can you put something like a "washer" to lengthen the Walker springs ?

This is a bad idea LOL

lol I bought some pyramid parts brake pads which didn't fit but almost (notch was a few mm longer than OEM) not going to bother in the future, EBC replacements went it fine

Hi mate did you ever followup 6 months later to check the wear I'm curious as your video is only thing I can find about this clutch plates and im about to buy
@mukov6 жыл бұрын
If the walker clutch plates are bad, aren't they gonna disintegrate and clog up the oil filter ?

Almost bought a walker kit for my klr 650, so now im going with a "walker" clutch and ebc springs. Mates kit came with spring washers, whats that about ?

so did they hold up?

I admire your faith in smaller companies. But you do get burned sometimes by trying out new things. Then again I have loads of issues with clutch fitted with heavy duty EBC springs and plates (slips like a bastard when engine is cold).

Well when you post some more stuff up I could give you a shout out on the channel if you want? - matt

Thank you for your offer! I do not post that regularly sadly and I do not know when that will change. I kinda missed a good opportunity. I am respraying a fuel tank and it seems to be going well (on the priming stage at the moment). I have another tank to respray so could film that and dress it into my typical humor. That and as I said thankfully I do not get into too much trouble on the roads these days so there is lack of rage material.

That's not a good sign that you could not find anything about the company. Then the springs are short. Not really feeling that confident.

In todays digital thingy you should be able to find something, you can usually find where or who manufacturers something. For example businesses usually make it public when they win a contract from someone to build something. Like reading codes off chips in phones and TV kinda thing.
