Use those old tires to plant potatoes. As the plant grows, add another tire/dirt, and at season-end, just knock over the tires and oila, no digging for the spuds!---I wondered about Cody, left behind! So enjoyed that ending, Cody!!!

Hi. Good to see you again. I love your road. I would just go out to God and nature. It really is a pleasure to walk those little paths. Course yours is a road. ☺ You really do have a place to be proud of. I'm waiting for Rodney, my husband to clear a little walking area for me. Our place was left for about 6 years. It was a mess too. He found himself a tractor too an oh boy 🥰. There's quit an age difference but, you remind me a lot of him. I'm looking up the company. I'm sure Rodney can use something like that. Thank you. Good job. God bless 💖

Just stumbled on the channel and I am impressed with what you have taken on. I just cleared off a couple of acres on our property the last two years (and I cleared my grandfathers old farm site off before we built, 20 years ago) mostly by hand that I intend to put back into hay production on our small 5 acre homestead. But that is Wisc. and was not quite that level of junge. Though I made they mistake of planting those vines (wisteria?) off our deck, they have not gotten to that level. Wow. Couple of things hit me as I watched this - I have a '50 side mount Dist. 8n, similar to your N, and I will share with you that you do not have to be too worried about sticking with 90w in that gearbox. Modern hydraulic fluids just were not an option when it was built and they are more than fine. That being said, I did put 90 weight in just last weekend in prep. for our winters. I do it annually to address the water, mostly from condensation, that will collect in it. If it is too bad, I have to really let the PTO run for a few minutes in our winters to get the hydraulics to lift. My second thought involved your clean-up. I can only imagine you have a lot of debris laying around an old farm like that, but you would probably do yourself some good to get yourself some help in clearing it. A brush hog is a thought, though you need to be careful with the debris. The N's are good tractors for that, just be sure you have an overrun clutch (orc) on the PTO or the momentum of the blades will push the tractor where you do not want to go. The other option might simply be some goats. Premier1 makes a goat netting and you could essentially move around a few goats and let them clear it for you. Pigs are another option. I get the satisfaction of clearing it by hand. Kind of therapuetic. But you will feel just as good getting it done a little sooner too, and not too much of an investment to do so. I am sure you have heard this all before and maybe that is already part of your plans. Just my 2 cents. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.

You could consider renting a large tree shredder to dispose of the wisteria vine and small trees. You would get some good mulch for a vegetable garden and pathways as a bonus. Of course you could buy a shredder, too. Some do burn and that is fine when allowed and done with safety in mind. Another consideration would be a compost pile? I commend your fine work on restoring the farm.

Those vines! Arrrgggg, they will drive you crazy. Privet hedge too. I have a lot of privet hedge to get rid of. It irritates me every time I walk around my back yard. We cut it back but didn’t have a way to pull up stumps because it’s in a place we just can’t get the truck to without tearing down a fence. When we were cleaning out to make room for my parents RV my dad, my kids and I were all working on pulling down vines. Dad could only do so much and I decided I was gonna do it. I pulled and pulled and was getting no where so I just grabbed onto it like Tarzan or something and hung there for a minute then it came all at once and I fell on my butt. I have to admit it was funny. After that we found that if we paired me and my daughter, we weighed enough together to get pull them down.

If the lift piston has been changed from a steel ring to an oring type piston you'll need to run hydraulic oil instead of 90w. The 90w will develop more pressure and blow the orings on the piston.
