What you see near the Łódź Fabryczna Railway Station is the emerging new city center. Currently, railway tunnels and underground streets are being built. In a few years, such complexes of buildings, office and residential, will appear. You see what's going on underground. You see the music video: Męskie Granie Orkiestra 2021 (Daria Zawiałow, Dawid Podsiadło, Vito Bambino) - I Ciebie też, bardzo

As an American living in Lodz for 7 years, I can't believe that you would come to Lodz and not go to Piotrkowska Street. You were two blocks away! Just wandering around. It is one of the great streets in the world and you didn't show it. I was disappointed. In any city in the world including the US one can find creepy areas. Lodz is a pretty safe for a city of 700,000. You missed out.

Crossing streets on red light is prohibited in Poland and ticket from Police is 50zł (5 bears) :) not joking. When you decide to cross look also for Police car! If you get caught they will probably let you go because you tourist, but better not to try. Travel smart and cheap:)

@@Travel_Fanatic24 There is at least 5 times more police presence in Warsaw than any other city in Poland. In Łódź you just look around for a police car and just cross on red when the street is clear. In Warsaw it is a little bit different, so be extra careful. Also since 2022 the update ticket rate for crossing on red is 200zł.

Actually, not so many Poles are nationalistic. Patriotic is probably a better word. You saw so many Polish flags, because of the national holidays - 2nd May is the Flag Day and 3rd May is the 3rd of May Constitution Day (to honour the constitution, which was declared at the end of XVIII century.

Sir, you have visted legendary Kamienna Street 😅😅😅 (presently Włókiennicza Street). Same years ago most unfamest street in Lodz. Yes, it had worse reputation than Bałuty neighborhood. Street of moonshinig and fence dens. Streed was made famest in 1950-60s by artistic bohemians like Agnieszka Osiecka (song - Lovers from Kaminna Street) or Roman Polański rampanding during their studing years. Oryginaly build for reach "lodzenmenshen" in XIX, soon turned into street of cheap brothels. Acording to urban legend in 1905 during revolutionary fights prostiuts were poring urinals and boiled water on cossacss storning workers baricade on this street. As a fact you were waking area were workers of PPS and Bund for the first time in Russian Empire opened fire a on storming cavalery. Presently Włókiennicza Street is passing revitalisation with hope of thurning in hipster / artstic area. So a smell of a joint actually is a sign of change to better not to worse. In 1990s by the nigh you would walk out of the street without wallet. Or complitly drunk, since surprised locals could likly treat a strange foriner as a guest rather than a prey. Yes, presently Poland is rather save even by night. And we truly want to keep it this way. Literats would know what I am reffering at.

In communism Łódź wasn't as bad as it has become right after the fall of communism. During communism Łódź was a textile and chemical powerhouse. Then in 1990 it all fell apart. The city failed to bring in any investors and barely anybody in Poland had money anyway, because the country kept its hyperinflated currency until 1995. When your life savings buy you a pair of shoes or a jacket you know the currency is completely dead.

@@TravelAddictGuy Łódź resembles Detroit in a way. It all revolved around a single industry. When it fell the city went down with it. This story repeats countless times across the globe.
