Yeah, that area of Tokyo is really clean. You won't even find a trash can anywhere around there. I wonder how they keep so clean with no trash cans in sight.
@LieLo4167 жыл бұрын
Japanese cities don't usually have trash cans in public places. It has a lot to do with the peoples mentality to keep public areas clean (public bins still stink even when used properly) as well as an encouragement to recycle properly, as you are expected to carry whatever trash you have/used until you get home or your office and separate your waste into burnables, recyclable plastics and recyclable paper waste and put them in the correct bins to be collected (If you live in japan you sort out the rubbish and actually put them out at separate days of the week to be collected). if they install Public bins all over, people would put random trash in willy nilly which then be required to be sent to a sorting facility to separate yet again. Recycling is taught really early in the Japanese education system, in preschool actually where they make it a game for children to recognise different materials and it is reinforced all the way up to college. So Japanese people are usually fastidiously clean, though littering exist ofcourse.

I lived in Shinjuku for 6 months. Some walkways were so clean you could have dug out a knife & fork & ate a steak off the ground and be fine lol. And I live in Bremen Germany, and we tend to think we are clean. Well there is clean, and then there is spotless lol. I joke I tend to think many parts of Tokyo are covered with an invisible space age forcefield.
