It's interesting how just a slight change in architecture changes the atmosphere of a city. In New York everything seem very angular and square (from what I have seen.) Like a bunch of pieces fitted together for maximum space. When I lived in Las Vegas, the city has almost a patchwork feel, as if everything was thrown together to keep you wandering about. It's beautiful in it's way, but almost overwhelming if you just want to get from point A to B. Whereas here in New Orleans it's a lot of columns, arches and curves to give it more of an older world and relaxed feel. All are wonderful in design, but very different in most ways.

That park that you went through, Jackson square, is very beautiful. When I visited I went on a Saturday and it was a lot busier in that area.

I absolutely enjoyed New Orleans when I went a few yrs back. I loved the street music/performers, the buildings and the French Market. My daughter & I took a rickshaw from the French Market to Jackson Square. A bit far too walk + I fell the 2nd day there. Had to wear a sling. And not from drinking Lol!! Cobblestone/uneven streets 😉😯😱

9:34 you can hear the sound of a dying land and the grief of any who aspire to be happy. All of my USA homeland cities are full with these ptsd triggers that are bad for me. Many thanks for sharing ActionKid, walking tours like this speak a thousand words.

Another nice walking tour of N.O. I do hear a high frequency tone throughout the first part of the walk. Maybe around 10,000 hertz. Possibly stray RF or microwave getting into the camera. Not terrible but I do notice it and wanted to let you know.

Kudos to you for visiting and especially filming in New Orleans in August. You might as well be in the Amazon Rainforest, weather-wise. PS - Don't apologize to street hawkers (sellers) of poorly made touristy crap.

How long were you there for AK? If you don't mind me asking. I was there for an entire day and saw a lot of the major sights but I'm guessing you'll need at least a week to really get into everything. That's a lot of good footage you got there.

I've been watching a lot of your videos especially in New York City. Really enjoying them. 👍😀 Why didn't you narrate this one? I enjoy the information you share and your commentary. Thanks. You're a credit and an asset to those looking to travel to NYC and elsewhere. NYC related questions. + Where can one legally park and lock up their bicycle if no bike rack is available? + Public restrooms. Is there a reasonable expectation one's going to have to buy something every time they need to drain the lizard or pinch a loaf? + What tips and advice can you offer for when store employees want you to leave your backpack or bag at the front desk while shopping?
@ActionKid
@ActionKid 5 жыл бұрын
It’s just a personal preference why I didn’t narrate this video. I did another video walking in early morning where I did narrate. 1) You can lock up with a public street sign or fence. Parking lots and garages can also take a bicycle for a fee. 2) Don’t expect many public restrooms. You’ll just have to go to a restroom wherever it’s convenient. Hospitals, coffee shops, public parks, shopping malls, department stores, police stations, and restaurants are all game. Just be prepared to pay something to use the restroom. 3) Take your most valuable items out of the bag if you don’t trust the front desk.

Beautifully shot video, certainly shows the beauty of NOLA, but is a stark contrast to the video you shot of Bourbon Street in the dark. LoL!! We'll stick with this, let the rats, vampires and pukers do their thing at night.
