Walking NYC : Harlem, Manhattan from Marcus Garvey Park to 155th Street (October 24, 2020)

I walk through the NYC neighborhood of Harlem from Marcus Garvey Park to 155th Street & St. Nicholas Avenue. I walk on Madison Avenue, 125th Street, Malcolm X Boulevard, 145th Street, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, 149th Street, Frederick Douglass Boulevard, and then climb the lower level of 155th Street to the upper level of the 155th Street Viaduct to St. Nicholas Avenue.

Harlem was one of the few areas in Manhattan that stayed stayed busy with people and businesses during the height of the pandemic! It keep me from going stir crazy at that time!😀

Ken, I went to Sylvia’s with a buddy of mine while she was still alive obviously. I had asked the staff where she was and I requested to meet her. The experience both of us had meeting Mrs. Woods, considering the icon she was, was something me and my buddy will never forget as long as we both live. Really enjoyed this walk especially bathed in a soft golden sunlight of a late October day. But honestly speaking a bit depressing to see the length of that voter line. On one hand we can say there is voter enthusiasm but the reality is more like voter suppression putting people through such a wait. Imagine if it were a colder windier or rainy day!!
