So good to see blue skies when the February weather outside is grey damp and miserable!

I studied Moonfleet at Primary school for the 11 plus many moons ago! I'm enjoying your wonderful walks and laid back attitude. I knew you with Richard Vobes and have followed you for quite some time. Good job you filmed this in the summer. I live in the middle of France and it's cold now bit no snow yet.

Thanks Martin. yes, I tend to do most of the filming in the Spring, Summer & Autumn (when the light is good) and use the Winter months for doing research (and keeping warm!). Thank you for your support.

Dave, I've recently discovered your walks on KZbin and am slowly making my way through them, they say the sun shines on the righteous so you really should have a halo because it's always lovely weather in Dave World! Very much enjoying your informative walks with Logan, keep 'em coming. I did this walk a few years ago, but in the reverse direction, lovely country. I see the Elm Tree has had a makeover since I was there last, had a few different landlords over the years, but always a welcome stop after a mornings walking. I live just south of Bristol, but the drive down to Dorset or Devon is always worth it for the walking terrain down there.

Hello and indeed welcome to the channel! I must admit that I always try and avoid filming on dull or wet days - my Gopro camera just doesn't perform well in low light! I find that a sunny day with no clouds always brings out the best in the countryside - especially if there are sea views. There is so much "stopping & starting" with the filming so it helps if it isn't too cold! I hope that you get to enjoy the future video walks in the series. Thanks for watching.

Another well deserved crisp, Mr Logan. Your filming and research never lets us down. Just think, if you trapped yer mate Dave in that pound, you could get a couple of quid for him, and then buy a whole multi-bag of crisps. Thank you both, and I must read Moonfleet oneday, I missed that in my first childhood.

We soooo enjoyed this fabulous walk with you Dave and Logan. Logan certainly loved being in the Lagoon!😊 We chuckled when you said fish and Logan wasn't staying with his paws in the deep! ....So out he came!😊 We were wondering ..... Has he ever had a fish experience? Lovely to share that sunshine with you. Thank You.

Another super video! I walk my dog at Langton Herring at least once a week - different route as I come in from the other end of the village! My dog loves to get in the Fleet on hot or even not so hot days! :) Enjoyed all the local history and the photos and especially the footage.

Another great walking vlog. I have only walked the coastal bit so it was interesting to see the inland terrain and villages. I have visited the Moonfleet - once for coffee and once to deliver a present and card whilst I was passing by on the coast path for my coastal walking buddy who was celebrating her birthday there. Logan is a real character - I loved the paddling interlude!!

Have been binge watching your walks and the way you present them have become quite addictive. I was wondering why so many of the churches you come across are called St Mary's , any idea ?
@DaveFord9 ай бұрын
Thank you Kevin. Glad that you are enjoying the series. I am afraid I do not know why so many of the churches are dedicated to St Mary. Looking at Wikipedia, I see that the most common Church of England dedication is, indeed, St Mary with 2368 churches with the next most popular being All Saints (1,467) & St Peter (1,327). It would be interesting to find out the reason though. Thanks for watching.

Dave and Logan, we are fairly new subscribers but really love what you do. Such lovely relaxing videos, and fascinating commentary. Thanks for all the historical research you must do, but how on earth do you remember it all. Do you take a crib sheet or do you have an amazing memory! What I really want to ask you is the name of the folk tune you sometimes play using fiddle and banjo, sounds like an old hymn tune. Much love and thanks for providing a much needed stress release in these scary times!

Thank you Suki. I do my research for my walks during the Winter months and yes i do have some notes with me on the walks (usually just bullet points of things like dates & names which are so easy to forget when you are out in the fresh air!). All the music that I use at the moment comes from Original Spuce. The details of each tune are included in the comments / details of the video. To download these tracks & other music by Original Spruce go to spruce1.bandcamp.com

How long did it take please Dave? Caro
@DaveFord Жыл бұрын
It is always tricky for me to say how long a walk took me because I have to make regular stops to put up / take down the tripod, wait for the sun to come out from behind a cloud, take still photos etc. The distance was about 4.5 miles and I would describe it as undulating but no really steep hills. I would guess about 2 hours - ish? Although it is the sort of walk where there are plenty of opportunities to just sit down for 10 mins or so and take in the views. I hope that helps!
@carolinecliffecliffe8559 Жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. Quite understand but that gives me an idea. Hoping to move back to Dorset soon and am looking forward to exploring the area again.
