I don't do demos (busy w/other games), and have hardly watched any matches of this. Had no clue on the mechanics til this video. I love the fact that dp and push block are tied to the same input. It's saved my life a good amount of times already lol

Frost Edge - TV does it? It's tied like that so that you can't spam out push block and leave yourself open with a whiffed DP

If they are attaching you and you mash push block to get them off you, you will push block, then instantly dp. So spamming it is a bad idea. It's pretty lenient on the timing tho so you shouldn't have to push it more than once

I personally love the fact that games are afopting easier motions. It allows me to focus less on flubbing combos and more on system mechanics like frame advantages, conversions, etc.

Some people more in my neck of the woods (old hardcore players) hate this kinda stuff, but honestly im all for it. Just because I can do Geese pretzel motions or a summon suffering on demand (famously complex motions) doesn't mean I wouldn't rather just do qcf.

It's good to see multiple assists. I'm used to Skullgirls assists, where you can pick what you want. This is good enough. Tandem mode a la JoJo is also fun. I'm looking more forward to the DLC characters, honestly. Hakumen bing at the top of the list. Additionally, the trailers showed a few others I like in their endings with the multiple screens. Susano'o, Yuzuriha, and Adachi, in specific, among others. Although, I have a sinking feeling that they'll have to gut Hakumen and Susano'o's gimmicks.

A lot of the bb gimmicks are different. Tager just has moves that vacuum in no matter what no need to magnetize. Makoto now has a 2 bar golfswing meter instead of 3. That said I never played any bb past continuum shift and apaprently Jubei is dlc and ive wanted to play that stupid cat for a decade now.

Jubei will likely keep his CF deal. Pay two bars to pop his install and that's that until the end of the round. Adachi and his two installs will likely be similar. Yuzuriha is Johnny. She'll likely be brought in with minimal change. But Susano'o has to manually unlock his specials in CF. If he just has all of them available, that'd be busted. He'd either need something special, or his tools being toned down.

owlflame It's like a QTE. If you hit the opponent at the right time, you do more damage.

owlflame Heavy. I believe the timing is when the opponent is directly in front of the characters, before they've hit the ground. There are three timings, "Good", "Amazing", and "Marvelous".

So far my very early initial impression is I like it. I kinda don't like the alpha counter mechanic as I have not been able to easily deal with it yet, but I am chalking that up to inexperience.

ian barrow Throw is Medium and Clash at the same time.

ian barrow Tager has passive magnetism. Moves that used magnetism in previous games work the same here.

Some mechanics have been simplified, tager no longer magnetizes instead certain moves just always have the vacuum property. Also spark bolt just costs a bar now and you can do it whenever you want which is crazy strong.

Never played BlazBlue before. Do you use the astral finish to style on your opponent? What happens if they block it? It seems very inefficient to use 9 bars on a single move

Chris ATW In classic BB titles, you can only perform AF on your opponent if: Its the final round or match point of the match, you have 100% bar and your opponent life bar must be below 33%. In this game however, you need to be in resonance blaze, 9 bars and be in a 1v1 scenario. Once you land the AF in here, doesnt. matter how much HP the enemy has, it just dies, like Destroyed in Guilty Gear. Though in BB Astrals in most cases are easily combeable, but im here, most seem rather slow and a very inefficient way to use your resonance, at least IMO.

Also, most AF can be blocked, unless is a grab or something. Heavily punisheable. Heck, some chars AF are counters, like the case of Hakumen.

There's also the fact that there'll be quite a lot of BB characters who won't make it in because of the lack of Drive mechanics. Rachel, Valk, Carl all come immediately to my mind, haven't been keeping up since CP2 but I'm sure there's many more I'm missing.

Man this game is too easy, 2 attack buttons mainly, autocombos, universal reversal, pushblock, and guard cancel, it's good to have defensive options but I think they gave 2 many for a 2 vs 2 game , for 3 vs 3 like fighters it makes sense but don't think it's necessary for 2v2

Most anime fighters are designed around the base mechanics being super defensive. This is to give them the freedom to make the characters ultra offensive. This is how both blazblue and Guilty gear are designed.
