So true and well said and I believe, with having seen only a few examples, there is a level where there is close to no difference; a very well made simple leather purse for instance by a leather maker in italy that does cater to tourists who visit once in their life and a branded plain classic simple designed purse in the high echlon of brands for 1000's and 1000's more...same quality.

This is a typical Tim review.... he's very complimentary at times but just when you thought you get away with it, he suddenly mentions an imperfection or two. I'm just wondering, has he ever had a review where everything is perfect with nothing bad to say? Just wondering, he would be the perfect product tester for a hotel to get that near 100% experience.

As someone who had a career in hospitality, first on cruise ships and later on in hotels, I've become quite appauled at the lack of upkeep in the number of 5 star establishments you've reviewed. Most surprising was the Hotel De Paris. My worst hotel experience was being booked into a room, that, only three weeks earlier had been a crime scene and the blood stain had clearly not been scrubbed out thoroughly. Thankfully I was moved to a new room, comped a free dinner and lunch and a discount for my company who booked the Hotel.

Guess it’s also because nowadays it’s really hard to find good chef house maids/ Hausdame in German.Such a important management position, yet nobody wants to do it. Used to be elder ladys with decades of experience. They checked the rooms after cleaning. Also. Back then one room was cleaned by three. Two in the bedroom, one the bath. They had 45 minutes. Now it’s one poor maid who has 20 minutes.
@StereoMike06
@StereoMike06 3 ай бұрын
@@holyfox94 I was about to comment. It's most of the time not the maids fault as they are way understaffed. This is not a motel 6, they can afford the proper sized staffing AND the proper wage for said staff. Lets stop cutting corners just to line pockets of the few at the expense of the many.....

Regarding showing the toilet, personally I don’t see a problem with it, it’s part of the room. Only thing I’d say is I would close the lid before filming it. Also in regards to not filming because there’s celebrities around, they’re just people, honestly don’t worry about it. I have famous friends and work with lots of celebrities from small time to A list, they really won’t care unless you’re in their face. If they cared about their privacy they would choose a more discrete hotel/city. Just my 2 cents for what it’s worth :)

It may be a hotel guest privacy issue, if the celebrity was outside of the hotel it would be different to film them but privacy should be observed when inside the hotel like Tim was respectfully doing.
@haute03
@haute03 3 ай бұрын
I disagree with the celebrity part. I think, in general, people should not be filmed without their consent. Why should they have to choose a "more discreet hotel" to not have their privacy invaded? Tim was 100% in the right here and I appreciate that he blurs faces as well to respect people's privacy.
@AbsoluteAudits
@AbsoluteAudits 3 ай бұрын
@@haute03 by your logic Tim shouldn’t film outside of his room because almost every shot has members of the public in. Your privacy isn’t being violated by being caught in the background of a video for a few seconds. There’s no expectation of privacy in public. If it’s ok for Joe Public, it’s ok for a “celebrity”.

I lived in LA for 10 years and I’m very shocked about what you experienced at the hotel. Just a note that you could have gotten into CUT restaurant by just going to the concierge, they reserve tables for all guests of the hotel. You should never have been turned away. As for the fake flowers, that is all new and a sad fact for Beverly Hills.

Hey Tim, the reason for the low shower pressure is most likely the California regulations for showerheads, limiting them to a max flow of 1.8 gallons per minute. It's because of how drought-prone the state is in general.

House Keeping doesn’t look up to scratch for sure. Crumbs filling the chair, bed sheets hanging down and opened bottle of water left there for the next guest. My biggest pet hate is fake plants and flowers. Tacky and cheap especially for the hotel and room. Ornaments would suffice if fresh flowers can’t be provided. Or they could keep the fresh flowers for the most expensive suites. I’d agree and say it’s not worth the price.

Yes, review the toilets! Their style and facilities says a lot about a venue, I think. Love your videos, have got quite addicted to them, and appreciate the efforts you go to, especially in the editing, which makes it all look so professional.

I dunno what it is about your videos Tim, but I always enjoy them. You’re very consistent with your style of review, which makes it easier to compare, as a viewer. Thanks for sharing it all with us & cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿. Edit - re the toilet shots, I’m neither here nor there on them but if you choose to include them I’d always prefer the lid down 😊 I appreciate you asking for feedback!

I’ve stayed in the Loews and in the Del Coronado and the whole area is just gorgeous. We were lucky though as there was three of us and trying to get back to LAX on a weekday morning would have taken literal hours if we hadn’t whizzed past in the 2+ lane! 😊

The cleaning of rooms often isn't the cleaner's fault. Having worked as a manager and cleaner in a hotel it is because of limited time and cleaning supplies. There is always someone above you who is squashing your ideas for improvement. Cutting supplies, cutting personnel, cutting pay all factor in.

@@catherinejones6250 I agree . That's why I quit. Why should the cleaners supply the supplies to clean their hotel? They just grease the hand of the health department. At least everyone these days has a camera on their phone . Corporate greed. It's everywhere. Just look at what is happening with airplanes.

I have worked at some of the best 5 star hotels for 20+ years in the US. Every medium to large scale hotel chain or the hospitality groups running the hotels, will have what they call a "refresh" budget every 3 to 6 years. The current hotel I work at is less than 4 years old and our refresh budget will happen next year. All the little nicks, chips and paint issues or broken or warn furniture in the hotel will be taken care of or replaced. It's impossible to keep a room looking brand new when hundreds of guests use it a year. So if you're in a 5 star hotel and it looks a bit worn, you may be in between the last and next refresh.
