Richard Beaver In the NFS World we called them wall scanners since it was similar to scammers. I think EA slightly patched it in the middle of the game so added walls if you hot the wall sideways it reduced speed to around 15-30 kph and if you rode the wall you could very likely spin cause walls were wuite bumpy.

Yeah but there is another problem: Rammers (those people that ram into you from behind when you're taking a corner) at least they don't push you out of the track. But they really should raise the friction like a bazilion times.

@@drakvaclav826 I would love a system for rammers where if you ram, based on the G force when hitted the opponent, not the G force from the rammer and obviously the brakes of the rammer, then the rammer gets kicked from the lobby. Its no excuse, its a racing game, you have to focus on corners and brake, brake late is one thing, the other is no brake and blast other players.

Or you can go for team adventure, you only have to search 15 times to get into actually s2 street class, only to figure you race on snowed roads. Fucking turn 10. They fucked the game hard.

@@BombaJead current ranked system is a mistake in the first place. Current matchmaker doesn't care about your ELO rating and matches you with unranked or 2000+ELO difference persons Priority is fixing broken ranked matchmaker, then rammers(especially at the corner), and lastly wallriders

The thing is with this is that there are sooo many EASY ways this could be fixed, Johnson brought up many good suggestions himself... honestly it really isn't that hard to make a fix to this. My personal idea is that there should be NO walls in the races at all, rather have checkpoints like in the street racing events, so all the morons just fly off the track at the corners. I really don't understand why they have the walls in some races but they have it perfectly fixed in the street racing events. Just stupid on their part.

Thematically speaking, it's because the road racing events are "sanctioned" by the Horizon festival and have been blocked off for that purpose, while the street races aren't. From a gameplay perspective, though, I completely agree.

Technically, some Trackmania's are simcade xD Like Canyon for example (loss of traction on gravel is simulated, something no arcade racer would do). But yeah, majority of Trackmania games are pure arcade. That said, the NFS series, aka the the most well known arcade racer has a serious case of wallriding in the vast majority of their games... and they never really fix it. Then again, Forza games are simcade, not arcade or sim, so wallriding should never be a thing.

Simple proof is the difference between Motorsport and Horizon with Motorsport being a simcade - in comparison to that Horizon MUST be an arcade racer. The other way around, Assetto Corsa is simulation and Motorsport is just a poor simcade.

I've been pretty annoyed by wallriding, ramming (especially out of checkpoints) and the scoring system. Last night I got screwed in 2 unique ways. Firstly, my team was winning by 50 points, then one of the enemy team who was in last place quit out so my team all lost points and we lost. We lost because the enemy quit! Secondly, most of my team quit in another event so it was our 3 vs their 6. I managed 3 first places in the Bone Crusher, and still lost and lost ranking because my team just failed and came last. I lost ranking even though I won 3 of the 4 races. We need a solo mode. Also I hate freeroam rush. Too often that turns into "who is the most lucky and doesn't hit a tree or deep water" simulator. Leave it out of ranked.

Ranked settings are lock, it's not a problem of private lobby, it's just the community + Wall ride +no knowledge of brakes + dirty players who ram every one, even if they are in the same team which is annoying... Together they turn so much people into goats... + something really disturbing is ... Ranked. It is kinda like a coinflip, i mean, i was at rank 7 into online ranked, i win 6 for a victory and loose 36 for a loose... I was often at first place but u can't even drag and carry ur team mates when they all end last... Too much team power needed.... Unless of the skill of Beeing first without riding or hitting a wall

I mainly play ranked adventure racing, and I had occasions where I was playing against an entire team of wallriders. It was extremely frustrating how my skills simply didn't matter, I think it's way too common on the higher ranks.

Make barriers 90 degrees from each other on 90 degrees turns and divide the ammount of barrier (and make them bigger to compensate space) on long turns so the angle between then is sharper and is going to slow down these drivers a lot. I'm not sure if it will solve this problem but this will slow them down a lot and make wall riding less worth it

To be honest, whether or not wall riding is faster is besides the point. It clearly is, but I've seen a lot of people arguing about it. The point is, this is unsportsmanlike and anti-competitive. So when you are playing a game with an unsportsmanlike approach, it's already justified to ban, suspend, or better yet, fix the game. I don't care if a "pro" can race clean faster than a wall rider. Completely besides the point, and the more people entertain this argument, the longer it will stick around. You need to frame this argument from a moral perspective. It's nasty to play games unsportsmanlike and anti-competitive. I don't care if it's faster or slower. That's a whole dif issue.

This was one of the main reasons I stopped racing online in Ranked Adventures. Not only do I hate the way the Ranked Adventures work and how Freeroam Rush is absolutely awful, but the constant amount of wallriding and dirty drivers who deliberately take out others is too much for me to get any proper fun out of it. I think they should add something to punish players who do this, such as a time second penalty where you are forcibly slowed down, reset further back automatically, or implement a "safety rating" similar to the likes of some of the Codemasters racing game which tells you how clean a driver is, singling out those who are terrible drivers.

@@boxy2k8 Yes, racing is about who is the fastest... on the same track at the same time. If you just want the fastest, there's the Rivals mode, since that's what time attack is for. As rubbish as Rivals is, that's what no collision "racing" comes down to. Best solution is to remove walls. This not only stops wallrides, but makes rammers and dive bombers think twice, since there's no wall to save them. Street races are the best for a reason.

Thanks dude. Now I can share this to my community's friends to warn them about the infamous wall-ride tracks of FH4 so they are never ran (at least until the issue can be resolved by the devs). This comparison proves the issue's effect on the results of a skilled driver's run, and how noobs or dirty drivers in general currently have a cheap technique to potentially beat them on 5 of them. I had to deal with one on the Derwent Lakeside Sprint yesterday and though I managed to just barely win that driver was annoying. I wish I looked at this video earlier to of seen why he chose that track. I hope FH4 can make an anti-wallride measure (like as you suggested, making the walls have sharper edges or provide more friction to slow them down faster). If someone wants to do that for the time being, I won't judge them. I just prefer a fair race for everyone.

I'm new to the Forza franchise and I haven't played racing games since GT2. Just started Fh4 2 weeks ago, and I can tell they fixed the wall riding, maybe too much. Now if you touch a wall you get slowed down for about 3 seconds. That is a fair solution. My issue is that it doesn't take into account how you did hit the wall. For example, I like to race rally cars on street/tarmac events and enter the corner drifting. It so happens that I touch the wall with the back of my car in the exit corner and still get penalised. That's where the FIX fails.

It seems as though Play Ground games couldn't care less about wall riding, or improving the multiplayer aspect of the game. Wall ridings been around since FH2 and they've done nothing to fix it. They also made FH4 all team events which just encourages corner bombing and aggressive driving. They completely ruined the multiplayer in FH4. Don't even get me started what they did to rivals. I see two simple solutions for this (one probably far simpler than the other) 1) Increase how the friction physics work when you rub against a wall. Make it slow you down more. 2) Change the shape of the barriers in races, so you can't fluidly slide along the wall

It’s absolutely INSANE how they changed the scoring system for online adventure in this game. Now you can essentially just wallride around every turn and ram everybody and still win because it’s not based on clean racing and XP. Kind of destroyed the game for me.

3 ways to fix this. 1. Increase friction massively 2. Enable damage, nothing promotes gentlemanly racing like losing your car in a crash 3. Remove the walls.

play street if you are REALLY against wallriders. "Don't blame the game blame the player" is a statement that does not work well with games where Devs should be changing the game constantly. I think they need to add in damage models so when host has damage model on, every other players will be forced to have it on as well which will discourage bumper car and wallriding altogether; two birds with one stone.

Oh, that is what they call it!!! I've been calling them Wall Bouncers because they try to use the wall to bounce of from when turning from corners.

Its not a fix, but what you can do, is play in only Street Races events, those races have almost no walls set up along the route to grind against.

We stopped 3 weeks ago ( and we stopped the game too, unfortunately :/ ) cause of these problem of Wallriding & "Opponentriding". We tried to play as clean as we can but we cant have fun when you have absolutely no chance to win. In highest ranks, the """""best"""" players from the """""best""""" clan wallride like hell and sometimes, when they are 4 or 5, there is one guy who is assigned to push you out of the race ...

Most people doing that are people playing with keyboards... Playing with a keyboard is a disadvantage because you can go only 0 or 100 on the gas, so making a technical turn is practically impossible.

Please listen to it longer than 10 seconds and also the 30 seconds before your stamp, because they said it's intended for new players so that they don't die completely after mistakes. They also said that the abuse for online racing is a "non traditional unfair way" which they want to fix as it wasn't intended to be that fast. So actually no, wallriders are still the "noobs". ;)

first time I was exposed too wall riding was back in 2002 and NFS HP2 on the PC. 16 years, where devs could learn how to properly make online tracks...

interesting Video.....thx for it. After I watched this I wanted to test it and I borrowed the Game. First I must say....WOW, what a great GAME !!!! Beside this....I Had to agree with you, but I played now a bit SOLO also and at least for me -> there were some Races in S-classes against Drivatare (in Expert Mode) where I had no chance without using Wallriding. But was only some races and also only in this S-Class. So do u can beat all the Drivatars without Wallriding ?? Maybe it's not a bug, but a feature ?? Keep up this Vids...Bye

Wall riding was used a lot in The Crew 1 as it came out and they simply fixed it a few weeks later...

Happens in FM7 as well, that's why I no longer play FM7 (not wall riding but pretty similar driving, it's hard to even distinguish the difference between the 2 in terms of race quality TBH)

Sounds like hot wheels snuck its physics into the game. They need to add vehicle damage where you can damage out your car if you hit someone too hard or if you try to wall ride. Add a dnf feature that hits your record even if you quit early. Use that to separate gamers into sections based on their skill and a lot of this would fix itself.

The reason i went back to Motorsport. Lobbys are cleaner than before, thanks to noobs/rammers being on Horizon now and because of the new colition system. Can wait for those new Regulations

The most simple fix is just to remove walls altogether like streets races. Noobs who don't brake for corners will get punished harder and wall riding will be non existent. The easiest fix by far, just simply code the walls out of the races for multiplayer. Job done .

I did Wallride when I was younger. On Gt2 with the Escudo Pikes Peak. But if you don't want a game who allow wallriding, just don't play a arcade game like that... Real racing game don't allow wallriding since a long time now.

I have an idea maybe add small invisible bits that stick out, or circular bulges at the point where the guard rails meet which will cause cars to suddenly veer out and stop the wall ride

The reason Wall Riding works because the car doesn't get punished for hitting the wall at high speed. If you were to play this on a very realistic setting the car would get damaged severely and would be incapacitated to drive depending on what damage you recieve when you hit the wall. I know especially in Forza Motorsport series at certain difficulties the game will punish you for Wall Riding.

It's not a noob move. It's actually a childish move, just like Nakazato said. The unprofessionals will call it wallride but we (memers) call it the Fujiwara zone. And sometimes you have to be childish to win something.
