So refreshing to see a professional with upper level horses encourage turnout, especially herd turnout. Love to see it!!

Same! I love turnout. Obviously every horse is different but I see so many amateurs that stable their horses just because it’s “what everyone else does”. Normalise turnout 👏🏻✨

Just a note: for those who have the experience and own their facility and can control what horses go in with which horses and for how long and can monitor the situation...that is a gamble that should only be made on a personal level. I would never berate someone for doing no turnout with other horses. I have seen more than 4 talented horses have career ending and life endangering injuries that were totally preventable by just NOT turning the horse out. Please understand that it can't always be about the comfort of the horse. Ppl pour in thousands of dollars of hard earned money for these horses...even, and especially "amateurs". We need to remember none of these hores would be here if it weren't for the purpose for which they were bred and bought to perform. Most have a job to do, and that is the reason for their being in the first place.

@@titanbuck7 not once did I berate those who don’t do herd turnout, and I’m sorry you took it that way. Horses don’t know how much they cost so depriving them of a basic need and using money as an excuse is wrong. In that sense, you’re not really in it for the horses because their health and well-being should always come first, not protecting your investment. Insurance exists for these reasons.
@TakenByStormEquestrian2 жыл бұрын
@@titanbuck7 so the horse should be deprived of their lives and to be a horse because… the idiot people…? Unless it’s for a medical reason, there is no excuse to not let your horse be a horse.

It doesn't matter how long it's been...I see Eton, and feel exactly the same way I did when I first saw him. His carriage/spirit is just unmistakable.

The thoroughbreds behaving like thoroughbreds tearing around the place. The mustangs just chilling out conserving their energy like sensible horses do.

Wonderful to see the group dynamics. Your horses are so well cared for and given the best of feed, training and leisure. They are much more to you than just livestock. And I love to learn a new bit of horsey stuff each time you narrate. I’ve loved horses since childhood, sadly never owned one. Thanks so much!

I didn’t know you had that many horses!😂 I love it 😍 Imagine waking up early in the morning to go feed and having that many different personality horses to pet😱🤗

Very astute Elisa to recognize that Ron wasn't completely comfortable being in the large field. Glad you put him in his own paddock. It can take a little while for them to let down off the track as you well know. Who is the herd leader in this field? Is it Eton? Other than his kicking out at Ron it was a little difficult to tell in this short clip since they're mainly resting in the shade.

All the pretty horses.The intricacies of herd management is fascinating. Horsenalities are so multifaceted. And how they get on (or don't) is just so important when sorting them out.

Can you touch on sand colic a few times through your videos? There are ppl who move to the FL, GA, and Carolinas who don't know the details of sand colic and how to prevent colic from sand. In fact, wildly expensive and talented horses have died from it so I was hoping you can educate ppl by mentioning this lesser known issue that can come with wintering or living in southern states. 🥂
