I'm in Australia. We have two major supermarkets who have been profiting billions. A greed driven sham. But for our, curently failing, financial system to work, money spent by consumers must be 'recalled' as soon as possible, paid by taxes, tariffs, utilities, rates etc to 'balance the books'. Its how it was designed to work, to keep inflation from spiralling. Printing money by lazy, corrupt grubberments and credit taken on by consumers has simply fkt everything up. Debts cannot be repaid. I feel for young couples with children, 46% of this group in Australia are experiencing financial stress.

As Aussie taxes go, You guys have a large "living on the Dole" system and all those refugees that entered to live on the Dole. It's really obvious how the dollar generals can't sell things this year. They had summer stuff left for longer than usual, Halloween and harvest decor at the same time, and you could tell they had no room to start fitting in the Christmas stuff. They have clearance stuff all thrown in bins like they don't even care if the stuff gets crushed because there's just too much. The bin will say it's 50% off but it never rings up as that so they basically trick you into grabbing more. Right now there's Halloween candy that's so expensive for such small bags that the clearance price isn't even making it sell, I can't imagine how much it might cost give out candy on Halloween if a lot of kids showed up. It's been obvious to me that people aren't going big on holidays. And I'm talking about like 4 different dollar generals, not just one. I've never seen products just sit around as much as this. Summer stuff used to always sell fast no matter what, this summer it was like they had to beg people to take it. For awhile Arby's got so expensive the coupons weren't even cheap so I just gave up on them. Now I see their coupons have a few good deals again. I think they reach a certain point in their price gouging where they realize there's not enough customers anymore and they're doing worse, but they still can't lower prices to pre-inflation era levels.
@ItsmeandaddАй бұрын
And it's the same in Walmart. Boxes stacked up so high on the top shelves. Middle aisle still pallet wrapped with boxes. New and various stuff down their clearance aisle everyday. @juliemissick4206Ай бұрын
You’re not very smart are you. Every single thing that is made in the United States contains components that are produced overseas. Everything that is imported Trump has promised to put a tariff on of at least 20%. That 20% will be paid by the companies importing them for their manufacturing here. That additional cost will be passed on to the consumers. So if you buy something that would have cost you $100 will now cost you $120.00. Now just think how much more you will be paying for nearly everything you buy. And even if something could be made here, it would take a year or two to build the facilities to produce them and many things just can’t be made here since the United States doesn’t have the necessary raw materials to make them. Just take tires as an example. They’re made from rubber. Rubber is not a commodity that the United States can produce, not now, not ever. It’s produced from the rubber plant. The rubber plant is a native plant to the Amazon rainforest, but now grown in tropical and subtropical regions, especially Southeast Asia and Western Africa. The United States doesn’t have tropical or subtropical rainforests.

Stopped buying and decided to stop spending on housing let the owners pay for their investment on their own.

As consumers, we can't win. Costs go up, the less our money buys. Get a small raise in income, inflation exceeds it. Put your money in the bank, you get little if no interest on your savings. Maybe 5 percent on a 6 month CD that's subject to penalty if you need the money before it matures. Fuel prices are still around $3.00 per gallon. Or a whole lot more in some areas. Sale prices at the grocery store, along with coupons, help a bit. But sale prices are pretty much equal to what normal prices were just a few years ago. It's $120 per hour, or more, for labor rates at the mechanic. Doing laundry is a killer if can't have a machine and need to go to a Laundromat. Health care costs are through the roof. Deductibles are so high you never get to the point when you only pay the co-pays. Dental care is insanely expensive now. ONE implant can cost $5,000 DOLLARS!! Everywhere I go stores are closing. Not just the big retailers but the small storefronts are vacant all over. Commercial office space is vacant all over, and the price of a house, as well as rent in my area is prohibitively expensive. We were considering dropping our cable TV service until they lowered our rate if we kept it. We did, but for how long I do not know. We have cable, internet and phone, but it still seems like a waste of money. We use pre paid cell phones, which aren't a bad way to go, especially if you're not on the web all the time. And my charitable giving has been reduced too. That bothers me. This Christmas will be a lean one, but that's okay. We're not materialistic. Christ is the reason for the season and we're grateful for what we have. But yeah, 2025 has got to be the year it all begins to turn around. Has to!! Trump will give it his best and that has to be better than anything BIDENOMICS ever did!! Bidenomics. Shit.🙄

What? fuel for 3 dollars a gallon? 3dollar for 3.7 liter, That would be about 6,5 dollar be here, Intrest on your savings 5% in 6 months ? really? We get 3% /year if we are lucky. It used to be minus 0.30 wich means the more you save the less you had in the end. We used to buy gaz from Russia, with the war in Ukraine Europe did not want to sponsor, We buy now from the US , the price is 4 times more than what it was wich made prices go up on many other goods, like bread The oven needs gaz so the baker has no choice if he doesn't want to go bankrupt. I have 3 implants, 8000 Eu Dental care is affordable, everybody can have dentures. Everybody has health insurance Some things are seen as a beauty treatment, implants, a boob job, a face lift, That's on you. A doctors visit cost me 2 euro, Life saving medicine like insulin is free so is birth control for women under 25. People with low income have a maximum bill for health care of 500 euro/year. My 80 year old mother had open heart surgery, a pacemaker and every complication in the book Was in ICU for 3 weeks and another month in hospital. 500 euro, Of course we pay high taxes but everybody benefits I pay for you and if all goes wrong, you will pay for me. A capitalist country with a social system that supports health care, education and financial help for the lowest wages . Heaven on earth😅 absolutely not Of course we complain about taxes but on the other side is the American system where one has everything and the other lives on the street. Now, the election in the US was on the news everywhere. Harris seemed to lean more to the European way , So does Bernie Sanders. Trump will make America great again, rise tariffs on import. and China will pay taxes to the US? Why? Because they are so friendly to buy what THEY need? Does that not sound funny? No country pays taxes in another country The consumer does. If Trump keeps word your prices will rise sky high Trump and Elon will fix it

The billionaires are going to get a big lesson. We, the People, are tired of forced consumerism. Pretty much done with giving billionaires any more of my money. Where do they think they get their profits from? Without us, they won’t be rich anymore.
