Thanks Walmart, some of us cannot afford Apple or Samsung product. This is a great tablet, reviewers say this tablet is good for kids but this tablet is great for everyone. I have the 7" tablet. The sound isn't that great but the quickness of the tablet is great. I have the 8" Lenovo and it beat it hands down. The resolution could be a little better but I think 🤔 Walmart is on to something great that will beat the fire line of tablets soon.

The only complaint I have with mine is the camera. It's embarrassing for a 2021 camera. Luckily I use my phone for photos. It scrolls through social media and plays movies well. That's all I need.

Do you think Bezos opted for their own OS overlay due to the royalties or because they want to create their own ecosystem? I don't mind FireOS. I'm not one of those people who load up everything in the app store including the kitchen sink so I'm find with it.

Yeah of they weren't the cheapest (until now) tablets that ran video apps that weren't complete junk I'd spend 3-4x the price to get something without that horrible fire OS. Fire tablets fit very specific needs for me but they do those well.

It all has to do with the Google Amazon feud. basically, fire OS is an older build of the Android open source projects or AOSP for short. They took the AOSP, and heavily customized it for their Amazon product. It's quite unfortunate! They would have made a lot of people very happy had they released the fire tablets with pure Android! But, Amazon and Jeff bezos have to go against the grain, and continue protesting Google! it's stupid really! But I hate fire OS! It's just old, buggy, and I hate the Amazon interface.

I bought the top version $99 with keyboard case. Battery life and Walmart button sucks but everything else is a steal for the price. Plus it runs Android Pie and it downloaded the May security update as soon as I turned it on.

FYI, the one with the keyboard is designed differently than the standard 10.1 inch; it has the pogo port at the bottom, though it doesn't stay connected quite well.

I'm still enjoying my 8". Battery life is a bit short, but it normally sits on the coffee table near a charger. I don't miss the lack of stereo speakers. If I want stereo, I can always plug speakers into the headphone jack. I disabled some of the built in Walmart apps. And YES! The Cameras are indeed lousy! Nice, quick review.

On the 3dMark Slingshot Benchmark, the Nook has the worst fps in most columns, but the highest "score." Is a lower score better?

For the money with straight - more or less - Android 9 it's worth considering. Might be handy just to load up all those apps which would be convenient sometimes but I really don't want them on my primary device because I suspect they will be heavy data miners. I'm talking about apps for local news stations and weather and the like.

A couple of questions: (1) what's the biggest capacity SD card this can handle? (2) how's the volume? I have an older 8" Fire tablet and it's barley loud enough, wish I could get a dB spec on the output. Ideally I'd like something as loud as a Motorola Moto Z smartphone, which is quite loud even if you don't include the optional Moto speaker mod.

Hi and thanks. We bought the 8" tablet last week. Today upon startup, it displayed mirror image of the page. As far as we have gotten; there was a bad update by the camera software system company. If your heart is really set on a PC for this, Deskmini A300W, Athlon 200GE, 4GB ram, 240 GB SSD, about $250. Would recommend 8GB of RAM for win 10 though if you can swing it (add $20 or so for 2x4GB). If you don't mind "used", an SFF PC off ebay for around $75 w/RAM&HDD. CPU doesn't matter much. Then throw in a low-profile GT 1030 for $80. Gotchas: If you want specific things, like 4k netflix for instance, that gets sticky. You'll need something with an i3 kaby lake or better and a HDMI 2.0 mobo OR go with a dedicated GPU (AMD >= RX550/Nvidia >= GTX 1050 3GB) in something else. Cheapest probably is the previously mentioned SFF PC plus a GTX 1050 Ti. If gaming involved, not my area, sorry. Of course you could go with an i3 kaby lake/coffee lake NUC, but that violates your "cheapest" request as now you're in the $350-$400 range once you add RAM/DISK. If you want to talk more specifics on your use-case, come see us at /r/htpc on reddit, hopefully Lon doesn't mind me putting that out there.

You forgot to mention the BEST reason to buy one of these tablets: GPS!!! I have been able to install and run Pokemon GO on my 10" w/ Keyboard version and GPS testing apps confirm signal as well. Fire tablets do not have gps capability, so your value per dollar is far greater with the ONN brand budget tablets. Please make an additional video so consumers know that GPS is available please :)

I didn't expect much but was surprised that it works okay. I use mine to listen to streamed old radio shows with headphones to help me sleep. Audio is fine over headphones. I tried to play higher quality audio files with VLC and Foobar into my den stereo. Again okay, but not hi-fi. Sounds of lossless files are somewhat smeared. Again for non-critical listening it is fine.

Is The android OS 64 bit or 32 bit? With the push for 64bit compliance several games and applications are becoming incompatible with the 32bit version of Android. EVEN IF the processor is 64 bit IF the OS is NOT then a large number of apps and games just will NOT run.

I must have an upgraded one. Mine has 32gb internal memory and was about $129.99. A bit pricier but still well worth it. I had to buy my keyboard and screen protector separately. Limited to up to a 128gb micro sd card for extra storage.

The Kindle (ebook) app and the other Amazon apps you might want are in the Google Play Store anyway so there is no point to sideloading the Amazon App Store, is there? Some of the junk in the Amazon App Store is so old it might not even be Android 9 compatible.

Using the 10.1" tablet to watch 720p 60FPS video on KZbin caused some serious stuttering issues during playback. If you plan on using this tablet to mirror your screen to a larger display, the only watchable experience you'll get is at 480p or below, which is not watchable when scaled up. I"ll probably return this one and get an older Galaxy tablet. Sometimes it's worth it to spend extra for something nice.

Had mine since black Friday. Guess I'll try the keyboard again haven't used it in a while unless I'm in bed watching a movie. It plays online games pretty well although the battery suck but to be expected for the price. Dropped several times and no problems at all. Does what it's designed to do. Hi, I recently bought brand new Walmart Onn Tablet version 10.1 Android. When I powered on this Tablet, it asked for Pin. I didnt had any pin to start this android device so I went to the youtube/ google to deactivated this password page by performing hard reset (Wiped the data out). After the data was wiped out and tablet got started, it asked for WIFI password and then it asked me to enter pin against whom this device was actually owned. This device was not owned by anyone since I got this as brand new from Walmart . I tried an alternate by signing in through Google account. but again it is saying that I should login from the google account which was used on this IPAD.

I thought I'd throw in my 2¢... Performance is good for a 2GB tablet. It will link to my el-cheapo bluetooth OBD2 reader, which is more than I can say for my cellphone. The display is acceptable; colors are OK; battery life is abysmal. The included brick is not powerful enough to keep the tablet charged with the display on, so if watching videos is your thing I suggest getting a more powerful brick (an official Raspberry Pi PSU works fine). USB connectivity is hit-or-miss.. All the keyboard/mouse combos I tried worked, as did my _wired_ logitech gamepad. _Some_ memory sticks worked (brand didn't seem to matter). But none of my USB cameras or wireless game controllers would work (bummer, 'cuz I basically wanted it for a cheap engine diagnostic tool). As it stands, it makes a great monitor for my security cameras (with an upgraded PSU).

close, but no dice, I'm a big Lenovo/Moto fan, and have no problem saying the ONN tablet is much better with full Android 9, and 2GB of RAM, where the Lenovo Tab E7/8/10 have 1GB of RAM, and run Android GO in which a lot of apps won't work with, but the Lenovo Tab E7 is $50 USD, and the ONN Tablet 8in is $64, and as of my comment out of stock on Walmart's website. I'd go with the ONN tablet when in stock.
