As someone who got back into playing and collecting Yugioh, the chaos boxes can be a surprisingly good value if you're also the type like me who is also trying to be a pack collector too. My local card shop doesn't carry anything older than Cyberstorm Access and doesn't sell any of the 25th anniversary reprints either, so these sets have helped me build out my collection of older packs a bit even if I'm getting sets that may not have any moneymaker cards in them necessarily. Ended up getting a Soul Servant out of a 3 card pack last time so I can't really complain too much on the return on investment in that sense.

Sometimes not knowing what you’re going to be initially opening is part of the fun, especially if you end up opening an older set that you haven’t seen in ages. There’s at least the novelty in that from just the card opening experience vs. opening a few packs of Rage and being upset you didn’t pull Mulcharmy or Dominus.

The really amusing thing is the Magic the Gathering version of those types of things do make for a fun way to draft. Although there are easier ways to do it and those can sometimes be cheaper depending on what you're trying to do. But they can still be fun if you accept that's what you're using them for and no you're not making your money back most likely.

It can be really nice sometimes to get those super random packs that are out dated and impossible to come across anymore. Good value not really but it is fun to grab one whenever they come around

The only mystery boxes i get are the cube ones with a mystery item. Apparently this years item is a dog tag. The last one i got like two years ago(?) It was pins. The packs are hit or miss but im in it mainly for the item and the storage cube.

Depending on the distribution of the packs in each box it can be alright. I thought the monster box last year with the card sleeves, mat and card binder was actually a good value

I saw these in Walmart and saw what the hit packs were. I immediately said nope! Granted, it does look like i could use some of the cards that come out of some of the packs, but other than that, the rest will end up as bulk.

I bought two of these today since they were bogo 50% off at my closest Meijer. They got good packs in them I think. Pulled an ulti C39 Utopia Ray Victory from JOTL and a secret Gem-knight Prismaura fusion from one of the other packs. One box had a MAMA pack too. I may continue to pick a few up here and there since they have packs that're hard/expensive to get.

I think these are good for people who just want new cards they don't have but if you have a lot of cards already and only want hits you're better off buying singles or a pack you actually want to rip. Definetely fun to grab one of these and rip away tho.

Honestly I love it, when you´re opening the Walmart Mystery Boxes in general because we don´t have retail products like that in Europe. But... the variaty of packs in your boxes was awful. So tend to vote for "these new boxes suck".

Yeah ill definitely pass on these and I knew there had to be bad sets in here not the ones on the back because there was so many discounted packs plus all those tins at the walmarts u would go to then they just disappeared so I knew right away MJ holdings had there packs for the next mystery box 😂

It makes sense that Walmart and others would try to maximize their profits on the release of the rarity collections and bonanza by selling these mystery boxes. As far as the mystery box itself, it was okay. Saw some nostalgic card that us older players might want for collections. But otherwise, maybe not worth the price in the long run.

I can confirm if you work for Walmart you get free packs. Also we can defect packs and since we weigh them I've gotten plenty of high rarity cards for free
