Did this at lowes, cool co workers and we were short staffed all the time. The asm always coming back there and saying you ain't done work harder. One day the asm was told by manager to help out cause it was only 2 guys unloading a 1500unit truck. Since he didnt know where to put the merchandise on pallets we told him to work the truck. Not even halfway threw the truck his shirt was drenched in sweat he was dehydrated and said literally "time out in tired". We were telling him sarcastically why what's wrong you got this, this is easy right. After that one day he never ever said to us why isn't the truck not finished. That was the most satisfying moment at lowes, seeing him rot in the truck after he talked so much crap to us before.

I’ve worked at Home Depot for 3 years as a freight associate. I’ve seen it all. Unloads can be a pain in the butt when we’re understaffed because either associates call in or quit. But it goes so much smoother when you have a full team in the unloads. And when half the truck is nothing but small boxes, it can get really annoying because we have to use totes to put the small boxes in there so it won’t get stuck in the conveyer. But yes seeing the wall is such a relief it’s insane but at the end of the day it’s all mental bc it can get to your head depending on the piece count and automatically your mood changes.

I've gotten hit in the face with 20 lbs weights before because they were stacked at the top of the stacks. I must be one of the few associates that enjoys cap 2, we got a great crew that gets along, managers join in on the fun, laughing and joking, things are great at my store, ive been here for about 10 months now, and I still love every second of it, some days are better then others, and trucks can get preeeeetty big sometimes, but I still enjoy it, and I enjoy throwing.

Yeah at Targrt I feel the same way. The difficulty of the truck depends on how the distribution center sends the product. A lot of the stacks are lazy and all over the place. Even on the pallets nothing is stacked neatly. It's like they put light weight stuff on the bottom and the 100 + lbs product on the top.

@ashtonadrouzi80217 жыл бұрын
I usually have around 6-7 I throw the truck and look out at them and half of them are taking one box at a time and taking like 45sec to put the box away even though the rocket cart is right behind them. and when I explain and show them how to do it more efficiently....they still do the same shit the next day.
@jgmanutd007 жыл бұрын
Thats a small crew how many pieces do you get average? We get like 8 people on the truck on a bad day. I just worked 5 days straight and out of those 5 days 3 were 2 truck nights. The key is to be patient and tell your guys to be consistent. I wish i was a supervisor and i wish i would hire people for that position sometimes you can't help how people are though. Some people will never change and settle for mediocrity. Good luck man this is the hardest position at any Walmart!

I have about 6-8 people daily. 8 on a good day. I push the line and do lawn and garden, shoes, apparel, pets, and some grocery. Noobs grabbing one box at a time. I changed my backroom team style and started grabbing two/three boxes at a time, I would fill the line up with boxes stacked on top of each other, then I would run out and unload with them. This behavior shifted two guys and their mindset, they would come and help in the truck other guys that wouldn't use my method. We would finish incredibly fast. If you have a 1500 piece truck and you can grab two or three boxes, you literally reduce the amount of rotations you make, thus the truck essentially becomes around a 750 piece truck. Since you reduce your energy spent by about 50%, and transfer that energy into helping the team unload the line, you also reduce their energy spent, and in coordination, people are less stressed. Granted the flip side is when you finish early, management gets excited and now you do other shit that makes the time go by slower. But thought I'd share for those that are like "this is exhausting work!"

This position is called Cap 2 and he’s unloading the truck. This takes hours and is pretty tiring luckily I never did it but my coworkers used to be really tired after this. I wouldn’t recommend this job if you don’t wanna be tired and it’s gonna get bad during the holidays.
@Galactus233 жыл бұрын
Unless you're a 16 year old that is really into fitness and you're already fit so in other words don't get tired easily I really don't recommend this job tbh I don't think they should hire anyone for this job that doesn't look semi fit and of a good age we have a lot of older people in cap 2 before or real skinny people and none of them usually make it not trying to be messed up or judgemental about who we hire but it really is an intense job that should just be left to people who can handle it the store manager here would always say it was like the navy seals of the military

2700? It must have been 65percent all on pallets. It takes us 2hours30min just to unload 1500 with 6 people. You must have gotten real lucky with the truck. How has your experience been now if you are still working the truck. Working alot slower after the first few weeks I bet. I'm sure your not working the truck anymore cause your post is 7 months old. It's rare for someone to continue this kinda labor. My first week I was super super fast. After a month I said why work super fast cause it ain't gonna make a difference and I'm just burning myself out. I learned to pace myself doing the truck. When new hires come I laugh cause they are always super eager and work super fast like I did. But you learn as you go that you cannot keep up that pace if you want longevity doing the trucks.
