After watching this and several other videos, I decided to get a PPQ 22. First impression and first time at the range tells me that I made the right choice. I like the full size feel and balance. The gun shot flawless using several mixed brands of 22 shells. The only exception was one round that didn't fire and did fire on the second try. That round was a Winchester Super X round, which I read is not very good for any semi auto 22. My only complain is the small front sight which is hard to see. I may change the sight out with fiber optic. I would suggest this pistol to anyone looking for a fun and reliable 22.

Excellent review, thank you. I purchased one three months ago from Bud's gun Shop (they threw in am extra mag too!). I love this Walther and it shoots so smooth & is spot on accurate. For me it's a nail tacker. As well I love the full size and especially the hand grip. I have a Glock 43X also but I have a lot more fun shooting this Walter. I buy all different kinds of 22 LR ammo and this pistol eats everything no problem. I had a Ruger SR22 and love the Walther much more. It feels like quality it looks like quality and it shoots like quality. The fun factor alone for me is well worth it. I practice lots of tactical drills in the woods on steel targets of all different sizes and heights. would also sold me was dealing with a solid company that is very professional and has fast turnaround if you ever have a problem.

I bought one of these, manufactured in Germany by Walther before they turned production over to Umarex in the US. The rails cracked and broke after the second time I used it. Their customer service was terrible, taking over a month and a half from the time they received it to get it repaired (despite their 48 hours til replacement or repair promise). They told me their gunsmiths aren't familiar with the PPQ22 and were hesitant to try to work on it. That was after it took them 2 weeks to get the parts, then another 2 weeks where they lost my paperwork and didn't know whose gun it was. I loved it when it worked, but since then I've soured on both the PPQ 22 (I sold it shortly after getting it back, it was very finicky and had a hard time making it through a magazine when clean and running good ammo) as well as Walther as a company. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be purchasing another new manufactured Walther.

One advise to every new shooter: TAKE IT EASY. Precision is first. After that comes speed. If you watch around 10:10 you'll see very bad technique of pulling the trigger. It's pretty much guaranteed that you're pulling to the left or right if you'd be jerking your firearm like that. If the gun moves before the shot breaks: SLOW DOWN and fix your technique. It's easy to fix starting out but if you build up that "bad habit" over the years that's much harder to correct. Quick side note: I primarily use a PPQ M2 .22 for training. It's a lovely gun and the trigger is close to flawless. So make the best out of it and don't go Rambo. Peace out!

As the "equipment officer" stated in "Dr No" (1962) - "Delivery like a brick through a plate glass window" - the PPQ 22 looks like the more advanced version of the seven or eight shot PPK. With a 10 to 12 shot capacity, the PPQ 22 looks like an ideal support/back up, (possibly) the main sidearm for police officers, I'd imagine that military personnel have it as the latter, rather than the main one due to the capacity. Either way, it's a good package - I certainly wouldn't mind owning one.

Picked up one same time as my PPQ M2 9mm. Enjoyed shooting it, till the roll pin in the slide kept backing out and jamming up the works. As I checked into this, it seems Walther was well aware of the issue but choose to do nothing about it till it effected someone. Then a different size roll pin was supplied. I understand things happen, but when you know and choose to ignore, that isn't right. I traded it in (with $$) for a Ruger Mk IV target. Most likely the 9 will be going as it has lost it's luster for me. Yes, it was fun to shoot (when it didn't jam up), the trigger was great.....has all the makings of a fine plinker but for the cost of a roll pin.

PPQs are great range toys. Can't say either of mine (9mm and 45) are reliable enough for carry, but I'll probably get this one too. Because they are great range toys.
@spacebear496 жыл бұрын
What kind of issues do you have? I've owned 2 PPQ's and a P99 and I don't recall any issues with any of them, aside from inadvertently actuating the slide catch with my thumb. My own fault though. The P22 is picky on ammo but aside from that... no problems.
@MarkAndrewEdwards6 жыл бұрын
Failures to eject, mostly. I took my PPQ 45 through a 600 round pistol class. Everyone else had Glocks, except me and a guy trying to run a 1911 Commander. Me and the 1911 guy were the only ones having malfunctions. Also the PPQ 9mm has locked up hard on several occasions with cheap 9mm ammo. Locked up so tight I and the RO had to hammer the slide back to unlock it. Love shooting the pistols but that's 2 out of 2 guns that have had functional flaws. Too high a risk for a carry gun. I will probably buy the PPQ 22 for a range toy though.
@spacebear496 жыл бұрын
@@MarkAndrewEdwards interesting. They weren't by chance reloads were they?
@MarkAndrewEdwards6 жыл бұрын
No, Sellier and Bellot for the failures to eject, TulaMaxx was the cheap 9mm ammo that caused the hard slide lockup. S&B is good ammo, so I don't think that's the failure point on the FTE.
@spacebear496 жыл бұрын

The magazine appears to be the same, same for the sights, the takedown procedure, the barrel and internal parts.
