This is an epic pistol, probably one of the best combat semi-auto pistols in the world. The outstanding Walther PPQ impressed me and my crew on just about every level. Everybody who shot one wanted it. It features world class reliability, accuracy, simplicity, outstanding ergonomics, adequate firepower, and superb value. Its fast reset trigger and grip are perfection. At just 25.5 ounces, it's also one of the lightest making the PPQ a top choice for integration in weight and size critical systems. All details are discussed and shown in this thorough video review of this outstanding pistol. Make room on your world's best list....////////////////////////////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10 (maybe 9.5 with the sight issued discussed)/////////////Awesome music from UK TNPr El Dudio at / eldudio

I should have listened. I was enamored with the HK VP9, and so I got one. I soon found out that it wasn't much better than my Glocks. I now have the PPQ and I'm not looking back. Trust TNP truth!

+proud2pak The VP9 is good though! I still like the feel and trigger of the PPQ more, but some people can't unsee the HK magic inherent to those two little letters (that bring extra zeros on the box). I feel like the PPQ rides that great area like the G19 and p228 for size and concealability. -TD

It is a truely amazing handgun. I shoot club competitions (ISSF) but at amateur level. I use USP expert most of time. My result on TS2 target are around 85 on 25meters. A colleague bought this gun, and had a chance to shoot it in competition. First time I had it in my hands. And I did 92! And just because of 1 accidental 6.This means I am able to put 10 rounds, 25meters, under a box of cigarettes!!! With a stock gun, no adjustments, some bulk ammunition. Nothing of the guns I had in my hands came close. This is the same results I get from competition oriented Hammerli .22LR. Amazing accuracy.

Igor Leyko See man? It's sad how underappreaciated the PPQ is. THe mk1 is absolutely stellar, and pretty carryable over it's competitors too. Seems like all the Walthers kinda snuck up on me though- I've carried a PPk for years, but just discovered the PPS a couple months after the Q only to have it dominate my single stack 9 preference. (THough NF likes his PF9 in the summer, PPQ, and the XD/s) I think it's got a lot to do with their eye for ergonomics- all their recent stuff seems to have a great feel and thoughtful layout in common. Good job smokin' it! -Doodle

As much as I absolutely love the PPQ. I will say however I still feel the P99 AS, once mastered, may quite possibly be the greatest pistol ever made. Yes I said the greatest ever. That gun has been put through rigorous testing. And has been proven to be almost unbreakable. The trigger system was so ahead of its time at the time of its release. And the the reset might actually be even better than the PPQ. It is ultra reliable and has been tested time and time again with police forces around the globe in the harshest of conditions. And the pistol its self is almost a work of art. Sleek, sexy and one of a kind. The weapons ban of the 90's really hurt the pistol in the US and it was never really marketed here as such. But in Europe it's a revered pistol, even more so than HK's. I think people here are finally realizing what those in Europe have known for years. That they make some of the most iconic and highly crafted pistols in the world. They always have. It's a shame it took so long for the US gun crowd to see it. I will forever cherish my P99 and think my PPQ will join it as time proves just how great it is also

Incredible trigger, perfectly balance, sik grip. It is as accurate and reliable as any. It just feels right in your hand, like it belongs, like it's a part of your body. I've put 2,000 plus rounds through it without a failure. I put 1,000 rounds through it before cleaning it. My buddy and I went to the range, he owned a Glock 22. I let him try my PPQ .40, after one mag, he said he was trading in his Glock for the exact gun.

I just purchased the Walther PPQ M2 Navy. I have not got the chance to take it to the range yet. First impressions of this weapon are fantastic! I own or have owned H&K's, Sigs, M&P's, Magnum Research, and Beretta. If my Walther is even close to as accurate as I have seen in all of the reviews I have seen here on you tube then it is going to be my favorite handgun by far. I actually would have liked the M1 Navy a little more as I prefer the "European Style" mag release but could only find a M2 Navy model without the threaded barrel. Pretty rare it seems. I wanted the Navy but without the threaded barrel for CCW. Great Review nutnfancy! Hope to see a update review in the future.

This is exactly how I feel about the gun having small hands myself. The trigger, ergo's, and position of the mag release on the M1's is what sets this pistol apart from others. Especially if you have small hands like us. I personally think the M1 is the best pistol ever made for women & smaller handed men EVER.

I wanted a PPQ when they first came out. Couldn't find one to save my life. Ended up going Glock 19 instead. Last week I picked up a H&K VP9. Watching Nutnfancy review of that pistol was like watching this review again almost. I have to say I'm very happy with the VP9. If I could find a PPQ I could love to add it to the collection for comparison.

Everything about it is so perfect. Easy to clean, best ergonomics I've EVER experienced in ANY handgun, and it eats all kinds of ammo and more importantly, all kinds of reloads that my other 9mm's have been very picky with. A+ pistol. I'm selling 3 pistols since I bought this. Selling my glock 19, xd9 and a S&W 915

I have the PPQ M2 and it is in my top 3 guns (and no Glock is not). I think walther did a great job on the mag release, it's as ergonomic as the rest of the gun, not sure why people would say otherwise. I couldn't get used to switching back and forth from gun to gun with the paddle style. Awesome gun overall.

I rented one of these at the range last week and fell in love with it. I am short and have small arthritic hands. The trigger is amazing and the weapon feels so "right" in my hands all my gloves are jealous. I am by no means a good shooter (about 1 year pistol experience) but PPQ got peoples attention. There was a competitive shooter at the range with me that day. He walked over at one point to see who I was and what I was shooting. Needless to say it was a great experience for a novice

a glock. it will always come down to the most popular. When you are out of ammo and you need a mag the guy next to you will have a glock 75% of the time. 9mm or .40 you have a 50% chance of compatibility with others.
@TheWitnesserer
@TheWitnesserer 10 жыл бұрын
LiveFreeOrRIP That's the reason I went with the choices I made in firearms (Glock, 1911, AR, AK). Not only does everyone have 50+ magazines for all those types, there are also parts EVERYWHERE. Fixing one in case of a malfunction would be a snap. Try that with an AUG or an F2000 or an FNP.

Thank you. Very good thinking. I want a PPQ so bad i want to stamp my feet. BUT it would be a part of my collection and NOT a cornerstone Like my G23 or my Berg 500. Or the AR. My next gun will be a 10/22. I think a .22 might be the best SHTF gun if your heading into the woods and your on your own. but the 4 guns are a must have at home.
@TheWitnesserer
@TheWitnesserer 10 жыл бұрын
LiveFreeOrRIP A 10/22 is next on my to-buy list. I have a GSG-1911 and have been putting off the .22 LR rifle purchase cuz of all the assholes who keep cleaning out the shelves of .22 LR, but ever since I scored on a whole case of them at regular price, I gotta get me a 10/22. Best .22 LR rifle ever made in my opinion.
@JFinne9
@JFinne9 10 жыл бұрын
.22 has taken more white-tail deer than anything else in the US, even 30-30 because it's used by poachers, for the same reason it would be so valuable if the S ever HTF. It attracts a LOT less attention. My only .22 is my first rifle ever, a bolt action made by Marlin. But for .22 I honestly don't think Semi-Auto fits the same POU as .22 in SHTF, quietly hunting for food. Besides the LAST thing you want to do is shoot twice. Still think a 10/22 would be a great SHTF rifle, just not the be-all end-all.

For me, the wider width rear sight opening like the PPQ has (I have three PPQ's, two M1's and one M2) really helps out when your eyes start to get older. I'm 53 and having more "air" in the rear sight has been a huge help as my close range vision has changed. I used to prefer tighter width sights but...not anymore. With the stock sights, I have a much better sight picture than with any of my other pistols. Good review and I agree that the PPQ has multiple uses. Duty, off-duty, IWB and OWB, and of course, home defense. I use mine for all.

If you're going to call out a shooter. Then the response from the trainee should be appropriate to there being an actual shooter. If you're not going for realistic training , then use words like "target". Teaching that the proper response to the trigger word "shooter" is to stop, stand still, upright, and not in cover, apply no suppressive fire(this one is debate able as the situation may be one of limited available resources) and slowly get your target picture before ever returning fire. Is basically teaching someone to die.

The red indicator on the right side is only visible when there is a round in the chamber. I have a PPQ M2 9mm and I love it. This feature is convenient for me especially in a striker pistol. I use this gun for home defense so I am always checking it and moving it to different locations. I'm not entirely big on not having a safety but the indicator does help reassure me and is the first thing I look at when I pick up the gun.

Years ago, I purchased the original design P99, this was before the QA, AS, and other models, completely German made. It was and well, still is an incredible semi-auto. I like the de-cock, I like being able to have my first shot in single action if I so chose, etc. BUT I have to say, yesterday I went down to a local gun shop and walked out the door with my new Walther PPQ in .40 S&W. I think it simply takes everything from the original P99 and whips into shape a superior semi-auto. I'm stoked!

I recently tried this great pistol at a shooting range, in 40 cal. I also tried it against a comparable Glock-gen 4 and a SW M&P. I liked the Walther best. The ergonomics, trigger and grip were just excellent for me and I felt right at home shooting it. I will probably buy the 9 mm version for ammo cost reasons as I plan on putting quite a few rounds down range but I concur with Nutnfancy as to the Walther's excellence. This is a sweet little pistol.

Being a full time soldier and having most of my experience with the m9, handling the ppq is amazing. For the price you cant beat it. My wife has a new FNS 9mm she thought she would like better than the ppq. 100 more for the FNS and she still loves the ppq, she just wont admit it. Perfect accompany to my ar15 for off duty time. Maybe if we could get smarter LT's that don't rely on safeties we could finally ditch the m9.

Update: I fired the .40 and loved it. It felt like the grip was made specifically to fit my hand. The trigger was like butter, and I liked the sights, but I agree, they could be a little tighter. The .40 flipped just a little bit more than I liked, and it was too much for my wife, but based on your review and my range time with the .40, I went so the only shop I could find that had one (unfortunately, couldn't find an Mark 1 - I really like the paddle mag release, but the button is absolutely no problem) and bought the 9mm straight away. Took it to the range last week and had some excellent groups with it. I'm not very experienced in handguns, so I was not sure I was going to get zeroed in straight away. I still have a bit to go, but I could confidently defend myself with it right out of the box. I really enjoy your channel - your sense of humor and delivery are quite engaging, and it seems like every review you do, answers all my questions as they pop up in my head. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your videos and the new ones as they are posted.

I Picked up a PPQ in .40 S&W a couple months ago. About 300 rounds through it so far of mostly Winchester 165gr (white box FMJ) and some Federal 180gr and not a single problem. the winchester shot flawless and right on target, the federal was a little more inconsistent in the accuracy area but no difference in gun function ability. I love this gun, It is easily worth more money then they charge for it. I only with it had an auto slide release with a loaded mag like the H&K P30.

Nutn always polices "picks up his brass" hes very respectful of his environment and wants to preserve it for others and many more to come after him. its a good way to keep your favorite shooting area clean. and not get shut down.

I'm in the hospital right now and watched the review for relaxing. I'm german and nearly popped a stitch when you said "walther" trying to sound german. Very nice I go buy one when I can

Thanks for the great review. I picked up the M2 version, love it. Also thanks for quality reviews with out every other word being "um". I freaking hate that, nothing annoys me more than half a video of "um".

Got the PPQ M2 9mm, best 9 I have shot and so under rated. Love it and keep the good reviews going.

I have a PPQ M1 in 40SW and absolutely love it. also a PPQ M2 (5") in 9mm, very cool look to it. Fun fact: the M1 and M2 mags are NOT interchangeable as the notches are in slightly different locations. The M1 mags have a blue follower and the M2 mags have a red follower.

Trivia regarding the rstamps: In Germany, every weapon made for purchase in-country has to be tested by a federal testing facility, called the "Beschussamt" or "Firearms Testing Department". Every gun is rigorously tested before it is released for purchase and the rounds used have 30% more power than the standard ammunition of its caliber. The "N" beneath the eagle means that a standard shooting pattern was used and the Cross-and-Antler sign means that it got tested at the Department in Ulm.

I handled every gun in the store multiple times and this seemed to be the most comfortable point and shoot one of all....I wanted a gun that i could fire and come reasonably close just by pointing even if i didn't have time to aim properly and this gun fit the bill nicely....Just finished a handgun safety course for my concealed carry permit....

i am stoked to see this as the P99 was always one of my favorite designs for a pistol. loved it since i was 11 till now, I am glad to see the PPQ as it hits all the right notes again and I'm blown away by it.

I bought one in .40 caliber after doing some range time with a rented one. I did compare it against similar sized Glock, S&W, and Springfield variants and I came away favoring the Walther. It is a sweet pistol and I love mine. I do find it a bit large for my personal concealed carry system but it is my preferred home defense option. I also wish there were more aftermarket items for it and you could actually find extra factory mags. Nonetheless I agree with this video. It rocks.

I have HK, Glock, FNP, 1911 Colt and Springfield, Ruger LC9 AND in a class by itself, a Walther P99c 40 cal. It is my most accurate pistol - and has never had a failure of any kind. If the PPQ is better, I really can't imagine that.

This is an awesome pistol I've put 800 rounds through mine without any malfunctions yet! I put a Viridian XL5R red laser/ light on it for 200$ instead of night sights just because I like to be able to 100% ID your target and I am not as good shooting while holding a light. The stock sights are amazing and with the laser I purchased I absolutely love it.

Hmm... I never realized that's how the ads worked on here, I appreciate you clarifying that for me and for any others who don't know any better. Now it makes sense why I've gotten tons of political ads for Ron Paul and the ocassional outdoor product ad. And yes I do feel silly now, but at the same time I'm pretty stoked you responded to me, I'm a big TNP fan and enjoy all the videos/input you share. In fact I'm now trying to convince a friend to pick up the PPQ so I can give it a try, TY Nutn ;)
