You don't have to bring the slide back for takedown. It's not a Glock. Check your chamber make sure it's empty, pull the trigger, pull the takedown tabs down and pull the slide off. The absolute easiest gun to takedown, this is one of the best features of the PPQ that gets over shadowed by its amazing trigger.

However, I have had some FTEs when using old cheap 115gr ammo. When using quality ammunition (any modern commercial), I have never had an issue with the pistol. When I carry this pistol, which isn't often due to its size, I feel completely confident that I am WELL armed.

The PPQ is an excellent pistol. IMO it's the best striker-fired pistol out there south of $1000. Eric mentions it somewhat, but this thing has an AMAZING trigger, not to mention the reset is around a tenth (.10) of an inch! I have the M1, which has the "European" paddle-style mag release, which I've grown to love as well as it is ambidextrous. I've run pretty much everything in 9mm through it and been pretty brutal with it and it's been rock-solid reliable. Several thousand rounds later and to date (knock wood), not a single malfunction. Not one. Eric is correct, though. The sights are cheesy. First thing I did to mine was install some night sights on it. Gun is tack-driver accurate.

Just picked up the Walther PPQ M2 .45 and it is absolutely amazing. Such an incredibly smooth shooter. The trigger is excellent and frankly I can't imagine a better gun to have next to your night stand or at the range. I have a few other guns as well, but this thing really seems like a great all arounder. Awesome review! P.S. I've put about 250 rounds through mine and the slide locked to the rear every single time. I know the slidestop is what messed yours up, but just wanted to mention it.

Hey eric - Greetings from Germany The reason why guns for German military use (police im not sure) need a certain trigger weight is because of a drop test. In a manual out of the time my dad was in military service (1980s) a new test was mentioned ; G3 rifles needed to pass a drop test from a few more feet than standard because the bundeswehr made poor experience with uzis falling and firing. I think they just kept the new drop height and expanded it to pistols, so new models still have to comply and triggers are heavier. Keep up the good work :)

The problem with the slide not locking back is due to your thumb or part of your hand holding down the slide release. I had this same issue with mine until I figured out what I was doing. I had to make a conscious effort to keep my thumb away from the slide release. I'm used to it now but it took awhile :). Edit: not a broken slide stop, just a grip adjustment. One other edit: The M2 Navy comes with a second recoil spring that is meant to be used with a suppressor - not sure if you guys were running that spring while testing with the suppressor on?

I've had the PPQ M2 for just over a year and had two issues both to do with grip, Firstly, I was touching the mag release and the mag dropped out a couple of times. Pete at the Armory Channel pointed this out and hated it. I haven't had it since becoming aware of it. Secondly, the slide not locking back. I think I was press my thumb against it and causing it. Again, once aware of it, no probs. Love the weapon.

I bought the PPQ Navy after I went through a period of buying all HK’s. While is still have and love all my HK’s, and also love my Glock 19X and Glock 45... I have to say that the PPQ has become one of my favorites. I liked my Navy so much, that I bought a second PPQ (not Navy). Both will be getting Meprolight night sights. If you go with an Osprey suppressor, you don’t need taller sights.
@TurnStyleGames9 жыл бұрын
Good video. As an owned of a couple of Gen 1 PPQs (M1, Classic etc.) I can agree with the trigger being almost too light. Not a concern for competition, running courses of fire - but as an ex-LEO I probably wouldn't have gone with it as a choice. Regarding the slide not locking back (when not broken!), pretty common with the larger slide-releases (happened frequently on similar HK duty pistols I carried). Simple fact is our thumbs/fingers ride up a bit in a proper grip and tend to knock it out of place, preventing the gun from locking open. It's something you can counter with a small grip change, but I did it for four years in a row on/off with my old duty P2000. While the slide release is easy to manipulate and ambidextrous, it's large size does result in that issue.

I've carried the Q almost every day since early 2013. Probably 11k rounds based on my email receipts from freedom mun. The slide has never fail to lock except when I've had my thumb on the catch. It will feed and fire anything in 9x19. The grip is admittedly very slick and I have corrected it by gluing grip tape all over it. Sights are cheap but they work fine. I've run the Q through both tactical response and Ludus. If you're considering this gun, get it. You will not be disappointed with the performance or the trigger.

Ive noticed that a few vids on this gun have tried to point out the pre loaded sear like its a new thing among striker fired pistols. No one has EVER mentioned the same thing about S&W M&P pistols in all the years its been around...
