I almost bought one on these for Harmonica but I went with the Joyo American sound pedal instead. but These would probably good for harp as well . thanks for the review

I’m not super experienced with “amp” pedals - pedals named after amps. Can you consider this a modeler? Can you run into a direct box into a PA and get the sound of the amp with the amp’s dynamics? Or is it just an approximation of the sound? Can someone help me on this?

It’s an approximation of the drive sounds of those amps. There is no cab modeling so you probably wouldn’t want to run direct unless you were doing something experimental.

These are not modelers, but basically analog preamp pedals. You can use them as distortion/boost/eq in front of the amp, or as a preamp through the amp's effects loop return.

Does it make sense to buy the Black 65 if you already have a blackface amp?

A fender amp doesn’t have gain/ master knobs so you can’t get those drive sounds without turning the amp up. This is like adding a master or 2nd channel to your amp. I use blackface deluxe and only play clean so I have no use for like 90% of these pedals. I would probably buy one if I played rock or anything that uses drive.

A '57 Deluxe reissue costs $2,400, making the pedal less than a tenth of the price. $200 is also a fairly typical price for a USA-made overdrive pedal with this many controls.
