Wanda is rewriting reality, so to me Vision and her kids are real. They can think for themself like real beings. And SWORD was tracking vibranium of Wanda's Vision in the hex which means Wanda made real vibranium out of nothing.

"The Brady Bunch" was the show on TV at hydra base. Agatha does mention that the reason she believes that Wanda is the "Scarlet Witch" is because of Wanda's spontaneous creation ability. I interpret that is being able to create life as if she were a god.

Every time I re-watch this episode, Wanda's heartbreak feels so raw, specially on the realization that she would never have a happy home with Vision, that it makes me so emotionally broken too. Impressive acting by Elizabeth Olsen.

"What is grief, if not love persevering?" is such a powerful line. I think it speaks to everyone who has experienced loss. Those who have not experienced it, will understand later in life. So good. This episode had so much emotion.

If you go back to look at the security footage, none of it shows Wanda taking Vision with her. Only showing her walking into the facility, and the story was a crafted lie by the SWORD director for Jimmy and the others.

yes, Hayward did plant the seed for Wanda to ressurect Vision. Many people miss that little detail but i think makes a huge difference. Im not *glad* it makes you sad but it kinda shows how invested u are on this show Oh and the "i cant feel you" from Wanda to Vision's teared body is a callback to Infinity War when Wanda tells him "i only feel you" while Visions worried about the stone, and Vision says it back while she is destroying the stone(and killing him), which for her was like days ago because she got snapped. Truly heartbreking😢

@@bastiancalderon2807 From what we heard in the conversations between Jimmy, Monica and Darcy, it seems to be somewhat common knowledge that the Mind Stone was a part of VIsion, and that Wanda's powers also came from that stone. As the stone was the only thing Vision was missing, Hayward probably made that connection.

Director Hayward played the group *edited* footage of Wanda's visit to the SWORD headquarters. Did she come there? Yes. Did she open the doors with her powers? Yes. Did she shatter the glass and fly down to where the Vision's body was? Again yes, but that is where he selectively ends the video. He claims Wands stole the body, but we now know that part was a lie. We never see her take the body but because of the video and his statement we believed it.

The kids, Vision and everything inside the hex were REAL. "Everything inside might look fake but it's real" said Monica. "Wanda's rewriting REALITY" said Darcy. So if Wanda is rewriting REALITY, she's bringing the kids and Vision into REALITY and hence, they're REAL. For that pocket reality, called the hex. The kids and Vision wouldn't exist outside the hex because they belong to a different reality and two different realities don't intermix, hence, outside things can't exist in the hex without getting reality wiped and the hex constructs can't exist in the outside world. Two separate realities, equally real, existing side by side. Wouldn't matter if the kids didn't have a proper conception, they're still Wanda's children, birthed by her through actual labour pain. She's capable of spontaneous creation, as Agatha said.

I think the key point that many reactors (and critics) miss about the entire MCU, but especially WandaVision, is that the colours associated with each infinity stone are relevant metaphorically even when the stones aren't present. Wanda may have gotten her vast power level from the Mind stone (yellow), but when she uses power it is red (Reality). Agatha/Agnes is associated with purple, the colour of Power, and she herself is clearly obsessed with accumulating as much power as possible. Bigger picture this creates some very interesting ideas that Marvel seems to be ignoring for the Multiverse Saga, but I'm sure this will come up again in the future. For now the relevant point is that Wanda's creations are real because her powers are red. Similarly, Captain Marvel absorbed power from the Space stone (blue), but her powers aren't specifically space based.

So, tiny little tidbit from the comics here, in reference to "White Vision." In the comics, Vision had a somewhat similar backstory to the MCU version, in that he was created by Ultron to fight the Avengers, but wound up turning on him. But rather than the Mind Stone serving as the blueprint for his brain, it was a brain scan of a superhero named Wonder Man who had recently been killed. Later, Vision is deactivated by hostile forces and his mind is wiped. Wonder Man, who had since been brought back to life (like most characters in superhero comics) refuses to allow his brain to be copied again, so Vision is activated without it. While they are able to restore his memories, he is left devoid of emotions and personality, and his skin is now pale white. He remains this way for quite some time (much to Wanda's dismay) before he's restored to his previous self. Heck, he was White Vision for long enough that I'm more familiar with that version of Vision than the red and green one. So for fans of the comic, seeing White Vision was not only a great callback, but we also knew immediately what that meant.

A lot of people watching the show don't really understand Wanda's powers. As someone who's been into the comics since before I could read, let me clarify. Wanda (in this form) is what we in comics call a "reality warper." That means she has the power to make or unmake things however she wants them to be. While the kids were "made up" they are every bit as real as anything else. They aren't an illusion. They actually tried to explain this (badly) when Monica got ejected from the hex and her clothes didn't "change back." Wanda's power as the Scarlet Witch allows her to create from nothing - something that is exceedingly rare even for people who can warp reality. The whole storyline of the show is actually a smaller version of a set of stories involving Wanda in the comics called "House of M" and "Avengers Disassembled" in which Wanda rewrote the entire universe, not just a town. It was a world where everyone was given their hearts' desire, essentially. It was only broken when Wolverine went through and started "waking up" people the same way Vision did in the show. At the end of the story, Wanda shows the true extent of her powers and just whispers "No more mutants" - wiping out almost the entirely of all mutant powers across the MULTIVERSE, not just her universe. It's one of the most iconic comic panels in existence, and was the absolute height of Wanda's power.

The writers really did their research on this one. That Dick Van Dyke episode is called: It May Look Like A Walnut (S2 E20). Here the character' Rob, a writer for a comedy verity show, dreams everyone has been taken over by alien space walnuts. A nod to the original sci-fi movie Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1956). So, when Wanda's brother says "at the end we wake up. And find it was only a dream." This is what happens to Rob... And "unfortunately for Wanda". Sure note: Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978). the "remake" is actually a continuation. Featuring the lead actor from the original.

Not exactly fun fact: While burning people as a punishment had been a thing in Europe, it did not happen in North America. The notorious Salem Witch Trials did see people executed, but by other means. The seven (I think) women were hanged to death. The one man was pressed to death, They laid him down, put a wooden board on top of him, and then piled rocks on top until he couldn't breathe anymore.

Grief and escapism are such powerful themes for this show. Especially at the time this show was released with everyone dealing with the pandemic, lockdowns, shared grief; and a lot of us using escapism as a coping mechanism for all the chaos we were dealing with like playing Animal Crossing for 9999 billion hours. A lot of us really connected with Wanda’s character.

The big take-away line from this series was "What is grief, if not love persevering." For me, the big legal question here is, given that Vision was made from vibranium stolen from Wakanda, is his body not then legally the property of Wakanda? Should there be a representative of the Wakandan government present?

That show was The Brady Bunch showing Cindy Brady the youngest Brady daughter and the family dog Tiger. 😅. Circa the 1970s. The scene where Wanda finds Vision's dissected body was taken literally from the Vision Quest Storyline of West Coast Avengers vol. 1 #42-45 written and drawn by Canadian born John Byrne. He also worked on Uncanny X-Men during the Dark Phoenix Saga. 😊 This episode is the first time that they refer to Wanda in the MCU as The Scarlet Witch. Many were wondering why they didn't use her code name and the answer is they wanted it to be an event. That event is here. 😮 White Vision was the end result of his dissection and reassembly. So that is comic book accurate. 😮

That show was The Brady Bunch. The Brady Bunch is a Sherwood Schwartz-created American comedy that aired on ABC from September 26, 1969, to March 8, 1974. The show centers on a huge blended family with six children, three boys and three girls. Following its discontinuation in 1974, the series made its syndication premiere in September 1975. Though the show was never a ratings or critical success during its first run, it has subsequently become a popular syndicated staple, particularly among youngsters and adolescent audiences.

When we last saw them in Infinity War, they were still trying to figure out if they could be together, so it would be unlikely for Vision to have already bought a house for them at that time. Hey, Emme! Beware Senor Scratchy! Not many bunnies chow down on sparrows! Villain monologue time! Agatha is revealed to have been sentenced to burn at the stake in Salem, Massachusetts in 1693 but not by witch hunters. Her own coven led by her mother condemned her for practicing forbidden arts! She protests it occurred unbidden due to her innate power and pleads for guidance! Rebuffed, she effortlessly wrests power from them all when they attempt to immolate her leaving them withered husks! In the comics, Agatha is burned at the stake in modern times by her own coven established in Colorado called New Salem. The leaders of the coven called THE SALEM SEVEN did the deed. She resurrected despite their efforts. She is ancient and witnessed ATLANTIS sink! Did you notice the intangible crown that appeared over mom's head like Wanda's comic tiara when she poured on the energy? Pietro is revealed to be a fake but who he was isn't made clear. Agatha wants to know how Wanda accomplished coordinating all the fine details of the Hex and takes Wanda on a trip down memory lane. SOKOVIA: Young Wanda and Pietro watch DVDs of old American sitcoms to learn English with their parents. "The Dick van Dyke Show" is her favorite! One family night, their apartment is leveled by a bomb and another one lies undetonated in front of the twins for two days while they're trapped in the rubble. Its blinking light was the toaster's blinking light from the commercial and the bomb is labeled 'Stark Industries'. Old news? Yes but Wanda is what kept the bomb from blowing! She already had latent magic ability! Is she a WITCH or is this her retcon into being a MUTANT as she is in the comics? HYDRA: As a Hydra volunteer, she perceives the Mind Stone contained in the Chitauri scepter gem and survives contact with it either because of a PROBABILITY HEX or her MUTANT GENOME. She either extends the hex to Pietro or his own genome protects him. In a flash, she sees a silhouetted figure wearing a tiara that looks like her alter ego. A glimpse of her future? She rewrites the CCTV footage and the encounter is not recorded. AVENGERS HQ: Post-Ultron, we get a tender scene between Vision and Wanda about managing grief that tests Agatha's patience for schmaltz! Lol. Vision was key to helping her cope with Pietro's loss. SWORD: Post-"Endgame", Wanda attempts to retrieve Vision but she doesn't storm the facility and Hayward is accommodating and sensitive! He can't permit interment due to the priceless vibranium that can be recovered but he permits her access to the disassembled body. She is satisfied that he is inert and being treated in accordance with his will. This means Hayward doctored the footage to spin a narrative that focused on Wanda as a thief after her Westview activities became known to mask his off-the-books weaponization project called CATARACT. WESTVIEW: Wanda receives a deed to some property in Westview apparently sent to her by Vision. Did he really send it or was this SOMEONE ELSE'S BAIT? She sees Mrs. Hart, Herb, Phil and Dennis in town, examines the plot of land and generates both the Hex and an imaginary Vision in an outpouring of grief. Everything transmutes to a 1950s black-and-white aesthetic and her hijack of the town is complete! Agatha applauds from the empty studio audience that fronts the sitcom set and finally has her answers! Wanda races outside to the cries of the twins who are being energy-garroted by a floating Agatha who declares Wanda to be a type of sorceress called a SCARLET WITCH or one capable of PARTHENOGENESIS! As far as Agatha knew, such a being is supposed to be a MYTH capable of wielding CHAOS MAGIC! END-CREDIT SCENE: Hayward brings Project Cataract online using the residual energy the drone Wanda returned to SWORD was wreathed in. Vision's reassembled white body is on display humming to life which proves that Hex Vision is an imaginary construct and that Hayward has violated the synthezoid's wishes. This is the version of Vision from West Coast Avengers' "Visionquest" storyline who is an emotionless automaton. QUESTIONS: Is Pietro NICHOLAS SCRATCH or a townie serving Agatha? Or is he Agatha's master perhaps MEPHISTO, NIGHTMARE or GRIM REAPER? Was Agatha a resident of Westview already or drawn to Wanda's power from elsewhere? Is Agatha trying to HARNESS Wanda's power or SUBDUE the threat she poses? Has DOTTIE been identified? Where is the beekeeper? Who is the missing witness? Will we ever see 'RALPH'? Will we ever see the AEROSPACE ENGINEER? Is the tome in Agatha's Sanctum the DARKHOLD? Is Wanda MAGIC or MUTANT? Can the TWINS survive beyond the Hex? Could DOCTOR STRANGE cameo in the finale?

The scene of Wanda coming across the disassembled remnants of Vision’s body in the SWORD lab is taken from West Coast Avengers #43 into #44. Instead of dying heroically, Vision was taken out of commission by the world’s governments for trying to take over all of the world’s computers. He was reduced to nothing but metal and circuitry in order for writer John Byrne to drive home Vision’s lack of human biology. The Post-Credits Scene and White Vision. Vision's personality was completely erased in West Coast Avengers #45, so when he was rebuilt, he appeared as "White Vision."Agatha's attire at the end of the episode is a reference to her appearance in Marvel comics. When Agatha tells Wanda that she's employing "Chaos Magic," I burst out laughing since this is exactly from Scarlet Witch's comic book past. In the comics, Agatha eventually trains Wanda, which allows Wanda to gain more mastery over Chaos Magic.

There was no witches burn in Salem like you said at 4:38, it is a common belief but it is incorrect. The "witches" in Salem who were executed were killed by hanging, except one that killed by being crushed to death. Witches were burned at the stake in Europe, mostly in continental Europe, most but not all in England were killed by hanging. There is no known case of witches being burned at the stake in the English North American colonies after a trial, following the English tradition, and was killed by hanging. There are some cases of being burned at the stake in the colonies for other crimes but not for witchcraft. It should not be surprising that is was mostly slaves that were executed that way. Crushing was a way of torture to get a defendant to plead guilty or not guilty by placing them between two pieces of wood and then placing more and more stones on top until they plead or die. The reason to avoid pleading innocent or guilty is if you were then convicted was then your property could be forfeited and your heirs get nothing. If you died in the crushing you were never convicted and no property could be forfeited. There are problems with the justice system and punishments today but it was worse in the past.

Um, Emme. The episode went right over you a little bit. Wanda can create reality... actual reality. The kids and that Vision are real. Darcy and Monica even confirmed this a while back, but I guess that confused you into thinking it's all in her head. This ability is what drew Agatha to West View. Also, I love that retro looking outfit. Fitting

What is real? The kids exist. Vision exists. The fact that Wanda created them doesn't mean they aren't real.

WandaVision episode 8, like episode 4, abandons the show's sitcom pastiche style totally in order to explore more into the context of the world outside the hexagon and Wanda's own history. That doesn't mean "Previously On..." doesn't take the opportunity to mention some legendary television. The first stop on Agatha's Christmas Carol-style journey into Wanda's history is, of course, Sokovia, where they witness the day Wanda and Pietro's parents perish. However, before the street unrest develops and a Stark bomb destroys their home, we learn how Wanda came to enjoy American sitcoms.

@17:35--No, we really didn't. If you rewatch what Hayward shows, the security footage ends with Wanda breaking the glass and floating down to the floor where Vision's body was. Then it cuts out. We literally NEVER see Wanda even approach the body, let alone anything else.

5:37 Afaik she isn't her actual biological mother. In witch covens, the "leading" witch is often called mother, similar to how a priest is called "father" or mother Theresa. She is basically the "mother" of her new "family" the coven. Structures like that are often copied from religious institutions.

16:18 Someone made a comment about your pronunciation back on episode 4 so I looked up the "proper" pronunciation . So it seems both are correct. The first is the British pronunciation, the second is American. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGbLkIGFm9KeatE

It's funny how everyone hate director hayward for saying: "he isn't yours" when it is true, vision is goverment property ever since he sign the sokovia accords, so actually that is vision fault

He's only seen as an unreasonable villain because Wanda is the heroine, when she's actually pretty villainess herself.

So every single being who signed the Accords is now government property? Tony Stark and all of Stark Industries belongs to the government because HE signed? No, that is not how it works. The only reason anybody is trying to say otherwise is because Vision was not conceived in the "natural" way, much like Data in Star Trek the Next Generation, there are those who want to deny his rights and his personhood because he is "artificial." It is not an easy question to resolve, but it is of great import, because eventually there WILL be sentient beings that are not "human" whether we created them or simply encountered them, or just realized that they were sentient, and how our laws will treat them is going to reflect strongly on what we are as a species and a society.

Seeing as how Vision was property of Stark Industries, they either payed a GODLY, disgusting amount of money for the corpse or Stark Industries just gave it to them for some odd reason. Either way, the Avengers apparently just didn't care enough about Vision at all to get involved.

He said "sentient" that way because that's the way it's pronounced. Every time you hear or say the word as you yourself do is wrong. Look it up. Knowledge is power!
