Excellent video! Thank you! I had the SkyBell HD (the big round one) and boy, was that a pain to install as I, too, have a narrow place to put it. It just died on me after 8 years and was 2x as expensive as this one cost me. I picked this one up for less than $100, but I got just a Skybell brand (made in Vietnam, though). Must be an “in between” version. All the problems I had with it were the same problems you’re having with it re: the app not showing you a live view and iffy internet connection issues. My Ring camera has zero problems, but I didn’t want to have to pay for 3 ring cameras on a subscription and I’m used to my SkyBell experience.

I have been testing a lot of doorbells lately to try and find one I like. The one that "fit" the best on my small trim was the Wyze doorbell, but I had to do some odd stuff to make it fit. They also have moved to a subscription module which I don't like. However, it is one of the cheaper subscriptions out there.

Complete junk. General Contractor here of 30 years. Our (GREAT) alarm co. installed the Skybells on our own home. The knock out of synch. PLENTY of signal to both units. We even have wi-fi boosters in the home. They're junk. I have a friend with RING and NEVER, EVER has had an issue. Also with Skybell... if someone is at your door and you look at the camera while they are there (if it's someone you don't want to see/talk with) the Skybell does NOT record and incident. So, what's the point? When you get a notification someone is at your door, by the time their app logs you on to see who it is... THEY'RE GONE! Cripes... Amazon BLINK cameras have WAY BETTER software (and sensitively adjustments). With the sun on our front and trees moving, even on the LOWEST sensitivity we're getting notifications every 30 fricken seconds. WHAT is we're away or driving. Does idiot Skybell want us to DISABLE the motion feature of our doorbells until the wind stops? WHAT KIND of security is that? I'll bash these cameras on our business page, website, to clients and anyone that'll listen. Skybell is UNreliable JUNK! Skybell is the saddest joke on the electronic market. SKYBELL = JUNK!

Is the recording stored on the company's servers or can it be saved to your computer ?

Recording start on company server but can be saved to your phone which can then be transferred to a computer.

I just received this as a gift and was curious what the plug in the back is for ? I didn’t watch this entire video I kind of skipped through so maybe I missed it but I haven’t figured it out . It’s not for installation so what does it do ?

Not sure what you're referencing When you say plug . Device has Contacts that attach to the faceplate To give the doorbell power but no plug .

It is shown at about 2.12 in the bottom right corner by your hand . Similar to an old phone charger .

When I installed ADT they used this doorbell. I cancelled ADt is there a way to still use this camera without a security company?

You should be able to register the doorbell through the app to by pass needing ADT for it. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skybell.app&hl=en_US

Does the app automatically find the doorbell when it goes into sync mode? My app keeps trying to get me to sign in, but there's no way to setup an account. To this point it was still charging, with the led flashing red and blue... so if I wait a few more minutes, thecapp will detect to doorbell??

Is there a way to use geofencing so when my wife and I come home, it doesn't activate the camera if we are carrying our phones?

The app and device itself lack this functionality however you could jury-rig something using IFTTT.
