Thanks again for another random place in the scorching weather of the Philippines. Yes I do think a day tour with a tourist guide is better in Escolta, China town and other places in Manila. Keep hydrated!

Hi Seungha where are you staying right now? Try touring the Quezon province. There are a lot of nice places there.

Escolta is now a neglected cultural district of manila. It was once called the wall street of the philippines and luxury goods were being sold there during its golden age. I hope that they revive escolta to its former glory.
@milesbernabe9195 Жыл бұрын
Hi Seungha, ESCOLTA is a luxury place especially during Spanish era. It's a place where spanish, chinese & rich filipinos used to trade goods. Before there were stores where you can buy luxury items. But now that we have SM malls, Makati & BGC, you can no longer find special things there. What's remaining? Offices in architectural buildings. Just for you to know.😊

man, you are getting much better with your Tagalog, you remind me of my University days mate I was a "batang Quiapo" myself, born in the Philippines but now living in NZ, my Team Leader is from South Korea too, I love Korean and Japanese thought process, highly intellectual, seriously and when it comes to discipline and politeness, I highly respect the attitude as compared to Filipinos we are very laid back... until we go overseas 😂... you rock mate and take care...

Seungha you probably started in Palanca. There's Quinta Market. Under the Quezon also known as Quiapo Bridge is the famous Palabok. Along Palanca is the famous Excelente Ham and beside it is a more than 100 years old Hopia maker. If you go further along Escolta, it will bring you to Binondo.

You should have walked straight ahead until the end of Escolta. Then you would have reached Jones Bridge to the left and to the right the Chinese arch going to Binondo. Along the way you would have passed by old buildings. During the 70s, I walked that street to our office from Monday to Saturday. It was the address of big business then until they all moved to Makati. I aplogize on behalf of the SG who's not attentive to his duty.
