In UAE you get everything fresh, although imported due to multiple daily flights. You get more fresh than Kerala as first quality is always exported. The expiry dates in almost all items are 1 year or sometimes more. Think about how healthy that can be for you. Now most people don't know this - check expiry dates in UAE. It's never more than 3 months with some items 1 month. Clearly things are manufactured for countries like Aus, Can, US, UK with more preservatives and additives A Sadhya pack and fish lasting for 12 months is the most dumbfound statement and a joke on the plight of Malayalis here! It's just unfortunate work culture with most of the Kerala men and women in the Nursing field who take up all the odd hours for penalty rates and do all the available over time at the cost of feeding frozen food for the family. So where is the time to cook fresh when the family barely eats together on the same table! Having lived half my life in UAE and other half in AUS I can clearly uphold these observations. For all the naysayers, our family ensures that we cook and eat fresh as much as possible.
