My buddy been talking about buying a ram 2500 with the 6.4 hemi and been asking about fuel economy on them when not towing so do know what's Mike gets with it? plus I love your videos

@@nathanvanfossen1391 It ranges from 11 mpg running around town to 14 mph highway. Just hit 1,400 miles on the odometer today. My commute is 5 miles each way so it doesn't see highway much.

okay sounds good thanks he has 2002 2500 avalanche with the 8.1 liter vortex now and getting between 5 to10 miles per gallon so he was thinking about upgrading to the 6.4 hemi he's pulling a 6500 pound boat a 7400 pound traveltrailer and he goes up in the mountains. I told him to buy a 2500 cummins for the fuel economy. I bought 2017 3500 megacab cummins and I'm averaging between 13 to 16 pulling and 15 to 20 empty because of the wind

OK Mike, turn in your M.A.N. card, you read the instructions, and that's against the rules. Don't feel to bad, I had to turn mine in a few years ago when the Ohio Department of Transportation closed I-75 around Dayton and sent me off of the highway with narry a detour sign to be seen. I had to stop and ask directions, BOOM, M.A.N. card gone. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but them's da rulez. Personally I bought a Extang tri-fold hard cover. It was about $800 in 2008 but was more secure than a tonneau cover and I was traveling and kept a few thousand bucks worth of stuff in my truck bed. They also sell a seal kit (at least I think it was them) that pretty well sealed the tailgate. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

You might want to look and see if they make stake pocket hold-downs for a Ram. Usually they're like an expandable plug. With what we haul for camping, (and tools) with our Tonneau, that much water inside the bed would be BAD!! They may also make just covers, in case you don't want the hold-down rings sticking up!

My wife surprised me today by ordering a Lo Pro tonneau cover for our 11 Ford Ranger. Our Ranger is mainly used for work around our property. We get 5-7 feet of snow every winter and I’m tired of the bed filling up with snow. We put 260# of sand bags over the rear axle for added traction in the winter, (our Ranger is a 4WD). My question is, Does anyone know how well the Lo Pro holds up with 2-3 feet of snow? I’m kinda afraid that the weight of the snow will cause the tonneau to collapse. Do I need to worry about it?
@WanderingWagners Жыл бұрын
That's a nice gift! I wouldn't leave feet of snow just sitting on it at all times. I would brush it off just like you would any other part of the truck, or sidewalk etc. Not sure if it would handle that weight.
