4:20 there is a mod called "Summoner's Association" that adds several things, such as additional information (number of minions and sentry slots), option to teleport minions (in case they get stuck in the terrain), summon dummys for minions and auto spawn minions

Worm scarf was an interesting choice. I'm used to everyone going with Brain of Confusion since the 1.4 buff to it giving a 16.67% dodge chance on top of the confusion.

for boosting whips craft Berserker Glove, it's pretty damn good for summoners and I haven't seen you use it. also, if you try taking on Duke Fishron, get yourself a lot of speed-boosting accessories (or use the Gelatinous Pillion instead, it's a bit harder without the dash though), and learn attack patterns, especially the third phase. Duke in the third phase is a serious pain in the ass. have a nice day

Can confirm as a summoner geek that obsidian armor is viable until Golem, if you use it with the blade staff. For mechs, its the best available.

Quick tip for farming blood nautilus in future summoner playthroughs, use frost armor and a cool whip, the whip deals frost burn and spawns a snowflake that will track the nautilus, plus you can run fast minions as well to give you even more of an edge

Just a bit of advice for future playthroughs, Hunter Potions will make the Destroyer glow bright red, even while underground, which should help with not getting surprise killed by it.

You can use mounts as a summoner, they dish out summoner damage, so it gets all of the boosts, of course it's not the main attacker, but the extra movement patterns and damage do help, the queen slime mount unicorn, that desert beast one and the ones from the events are very good. I'll say it again too, use sentries, they are good for exploring, the explosive mine one, for example, gives out light and can be spawned in any place in can stand on. As a summoner, you have a very nice time building/farming things, so if you want to, you can go a bit extra on them, I myself got most of my farm objectives while fishing, to be more productive. Lastly, about flasks, you need think smart about them, if you're in a fight where you can attack the opponent constantly without fear, use the ichor one, if you're in a fight where you need to think more tactfully, retreating and at a distance where your summons don't do much, (each of them has a different range, get used to them), or maybe even an event fight, use the venom or cursefire flasks.

Just in case you haven’t noticed you can turn off evil biome spread so if your not planning on spreading anything from time to time you can just turn it off. And also if you can upgrade your feral claws into a berserkers glove if you haven’t yet

1:00 There is a decent amount of debate on whether spider or obsidian is better, but I think the overall consensus is that as long as you have a whip with minion tag damage spider armor is likely going to be a lot stronger than obsidian, as obsidian only buffs whip damage instead of summoning damage. Obsidian is great early where in many scenarios the whip is your primary source of damage.

There should just be in a calamity mod accesory for summoner that gives dmg or something based on number of diffrent minions that you have summoned (Idk if that would be broken or useless or hard to make but that would be cool)

Amulet of many minions. When you have multiple minions summoned it gives you the buff "minion variety" which gives more damage. You don't even have to craft anything though some accessories increase or decrease the damage gained from minion variety

In case you do another summoner playthrough, especially one in a crimson world, I would highly recommend getting the Berserker's Glove. It's an upgrade to the feral claws that also provides a substantial amount of defense, courtesy of the flesh knuckles. 7 free defense is nothing to scoff at in expert mode!

I have an idea for a playthrough that I came up with earlier today and actually started Basically Majora's Mask but in Terraria. You start it off like a normal playthrough, but after 5 days have passed, you must create a new world with the same seed and continue off where you left with the same character, rinse and repeat until you beat the game. You'd probably need a lot of route planning to get through this, but it might be a lot of fun, and maybe even a bit stressful too! I'd love to see you try this idea, and thank you for reading.

We need a playthrough where you only use biome specific weapons and items in those biomes. So using the sand gun when in the desert or the blade of grass when in the jungle and that sort of thing. I think it would be a great playthrough and also hopefully pretty challenging.

If you don't mind lava fishing, you could grab some obsidifish to make potions of return, then research them for easy travel back to places like the temple, without setting up pylons! Lava fishing is a pain though, still there are some useful things you could get from it ;)

As someone that fully plays summoner, i want to say that while yes in this specific run the obsidian armor is better given you have all the summon slots you would need but in a normal run spider very much is better because although you do lose a 3% increase to summon damage and lose whips buffs with 3 summon slots as opposed to obsidian's 1 slot it ends up becoming better overall in terms of dps given that most dps as summoner comes from the summons with help along the way from whips

I know it's probably too late, but you might want to consider investing in the Icy Whip to replace the Firecracker (plus it kind of has a minion, if you stretch definitions a bit). Also it's probably worth upgrading your Feral Claws to the Flame Gauntlet, since it's a decent upgrade and doesn't hurt much. Loving this playthrough!

It might be outclassed by now, but perhaps you'd like to try. The Cool Whip has decent range and spawns a snowflake that doesn't really do much damage but can stun some enemies with knockback. I think what you'd primarily want it for by now is to apply frostburn enemies to make up for the lack of damage. If not though, definetly go for the Bersekers Glove, a must-have for any summoner.

fun fact, the pirate staff is 1/7 from the dutchman and 1/1200 from normal pirates. On avg it will take 6-7 invasions to get.

i just wanted to add here the cool whip might be a better weapon. its a drop from wall of flesh. its special thing is it spawns a snowflake kinda as an extra minion for a few secs. also i think it has more range then firecracker.
