Hi Tiff. I don’t have a Juki (yet) and thought it would be difficult to oil, but you’ve reassured me! I’ve seen people who have the industrial one and it seems to lie in a tank of oil, and that’s scary! I think I will have to take the plunge and get me one like yours..I prefer all mechanical machines, believing that less can go wrong. ❤️🇦🇺

Thanks for this video. Very interesting. And your single handed manual dexterity is also impressive. My White sewing machine is 65 yrs old, runs like a charm, well maintained. Video gave me the chance to see the new changes. Thank you.

Ya the machines are forever changing. This one's insides look way different than my first machine I had that was bought in 1982. I think the inner workings are fascinating to look at and see how it works.

I don’t have a Juki but your explanation was excellent! I love how you gave your special names to the machine parts. Actually, I understood exactly what you were talking about too. 🤗

Ya I don't know exact stuff. I know car parts 😄 🤣 😂

I have a Juki 2010 and love it. I know if you follow the manual instructions, you would WAY over oil your machine. So I oil when it sounds "clunky." Works for me. Then I watched a video from a Juki dealer and they said to oil every 3-4 MONTHS! So maybe I still overoil my machine. So hard to know who's "right" when the info is all completely different.
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
Ya, it's different info from many places. I have oiled once a week on average, but I sew more than the average person. I've not had issues with how I do things. But I have heard from others that they get oil on their things oiling like I do or even as much as the book or online websites say. But again, most don't sew as much. I also only add a drop. Some sites say more and it's rather confusing. I say do what is best for how you sew and how the machine sounds and runs 😊

Thank you sooooo much I am getting my machine tomorrow and I don’t have a dealer anywhere close to me. I knew nothing about oiling it. I also need to learn to thread it. You are amazing!

Congratulations on your new machine. It's pretty easy to keep clean. I don't recommend taking it apart like I do till after the warranty is expired. They will not honor a warranty if it's been apart. But there is a door in the bottom of the machine that for the first few years you can use to vacuum it out. As long as you keep the bobbin area and such clean as well as oiling weekly you should be good. 😊

Thanks for the inter workings of a Juki! I need to remember to oil more. I do keep it clean but don't trust myself to take it apart. 😅
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't take it apart either if I didn't trust myself. It's best to leave those things to professional machine repairs if something is bad or wrong with it. But a normal cleaning you can totally remove the bottom and clean the gunk out of it.

I just realized I don’t clean and oil my machine enough … thanks Tiffany

Wow! I don’t have a Judi but I can see similarities to my Babylock Accomplish…. I need to oil it! There is a minimum 7 week wait in my area for servicing and you have to give them your machine for that long!!!!
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
Wow that is a long wait. I wontlder why they don't have a wait call lost instead where they call when it's almost your turn.

Wow Tiffany thank you, my 2010 is new and you explained everything perfectly. I wasn’t sure how often to oil, was afraid of taking apart to clean 😅 Now I have the confidence because you took the time to explain and show in wonderful details! Love your decals, where can I find stickers or decals for my new baby?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
As far as taking apart to clean, I do not recommend taking everything off. Just the bottom of the machine. And you can either vacuum out the bottom or you can blow it out with an air compressor (it has dry air as opposed to canned air being damp) The full take apart I did to try to find a issue with the electrical. I felt the need to show some non talked apart stuff in the machine so people can better understand the machine. I do not really recommend it unless after over a year of sewing that you see more dirt. I have a how I clean my machine video here: kzbin.infoRJGnMhVeSjg The machine tattoos can be found here: shrsl.com/3zrco

Very interesting, thanks for sharing! It looks like (according to service manual) the 2000 and 2010 share the same main circuit board, which has a 3-wire jsp connector for the speed control slide potentiometer. I assume this means that tinkerers can add speed control to their 2000 for a few bucks in parts... You didn't show the side panel, so I'm not sure if this is just a slide pot wired direct, or if it has additional resistors, etc. Either way, someone might see this and give it a shot! :)

Love it! I have a suggestion for your needle threader. The part with the hook that grabs the thread from your needle can break off or bend. Its a little part I think it’s under $10 at Juki Junkies and it snaps on the front (the part that goes down when you try to thread it). They have a KZbin video on how to change it and what goes wrong. Also, I thread mine thru the first and third hole (skip the second) when you first thread from the spool. Don’t think it’d make a difference, but worth a try since you said your thread breaks sometimes. Anyway, can’t hurt to try, right?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
Ya I tried the one and 3 and all 3 loops. It still breaks both ways. On the needle threader it works, what happens is the bar gets stuck down and makes a funny noise when I force it back up. It's been doing it a few years. The thread guide at the needle is the only thing I have ever replaced. That gets in the way when bag making so it has broke a few times. But it's like a 4 dollar repair. Since I stopped making bags on the machine I haven't had it break since lol

I have this machine have had a 1 year and now my thread keeps breaking any ideas of what could be causing it… needle changed, machine is oiled so haven’t been able to figure it out and I love my machine… no service centers nearby
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
Maybe the thread brand 🤔 I only say that cause mine does not like little spools of Aurfil and Mettler and off brands. I don't know why it has troubles with small spools. Other things could be thread weight and needle combo or maybe you have something in the thread disk. The tension in the disk and bobbin could be too tight. Honestly it could be anything. There is a page on FB called Juki Junkies and they have more info than I know on there. They may have a website I think too 🤔 Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

@TiffanysQuiltingLife10 ай бұрын
I honestly don't know. I just know how to clean them and greese and oil. But I am sure it's something mechanical.
@kristenhills7 ай бұрын
I really hope someone knows the answer to this because I have searched my manual everywhere and the internet everywhere and nothing yet. There’s a hole on the top close to the bobbin winder that is NOT listed/shown on the manual. What is this hole for??
@TiffanysQuiltingLife7 ай бұрын
There is 2 oil holes up top by the bobbin wind and 2 holes by the pressure gage on top and 2 at the bed of the machine one by the harsh and one by the needle plate. All those are for a drop of oil here and there when sewing all the time.

Do you oil the springs
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
They get oil on them when things start spinning. If anything looks dry during the cleaning I drop oil on dry stuff. But it's pretty well lubed from all the ports to oil. It splatters in there when ya sew at high speeds all the time like I do.
@lzal9204 Жыл бұрын
Well, who knew there were oil holes!?!?! I love my juki but it is hard to get any info from them. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired.
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
Yes those oil ports just need a drop or 2 no more than 3 or 4 days of constant sewing.
@beverlydavis5142 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for showing us but when you took it apart and cleaned it. How did you clean it? Did you use canned air to blow it out?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
I use an air compresser to blow out all the dust in all the cracks and crevices. I have an attachment for my compressor that does fine spray.
@SuperBeccajean Жыл бұрын
Why would you ever have to take it apart?
@TiffanysQuiltingLife Жыл бұрын
To clean it. It's my way of machine maintenance. I do the complete take apart once a year (or at least I try) and every 6 months it gets blow out only. And weekly gets dusted out the bobbin area. Each year it gets so much lint built up throughout the inside of the machine.
