Wonderful Alistair, great to be taken on another of your boyhood haunts! What a spectacular circuit, even though you had to go up via the tourist route! To be fair there weren’t too many sharing Wansfell with you. Loved the Tower and the fact that it is still there, intact, a century later! Lovely big screen entertainment! ❤ 🥾

I did the waterfalls with Mrs Metalman a couple of months back and had intended to come back for Wansfell but ran out of time, so it will be next year now. Looked dam windy on the top but still got a view and wet feet by the looks of it too. Looked a nice circular walk but one I will be wanted to do in the warm and the dry, cheers Alan

I've always wondered what them gates were in place for! I seen many of them a couple of weeks ago around the Troutbeck area. Thank you for another great video.

Glad you enjoyed the video. Back in the day a man would walk a section of the route of the aquaduct on a regular basis to check for leaks! I think I'm correct in saying all the padlocks used the same key, but many of them are no longer kept locked and it's no longer walked! Thanks for watching and commenting, it's much appreciated. @@WainwrightWalksWiaLocalLad That's really interesting! I did see that some of the gate's have a padlocks on them but are so rusty now that you would need to cut them off anyway! Walking the pipeline now that's a Wainwright in itself!
