The frog can actually be very damaging to your knees, so it’s better to lay on your back in the same position and gently press your knees down. Just heard this recently from experts, so I thought I would share 🙃

Butterfly is the same damaging to knees and hips -its okay if static but pushing/flapping/Bouncing all very damaging I’ve been doing them my whole life but in the last couple years I stopped using it when teaching

@@Its_Elise_C dynamic stretching can be very damaging in general for any stretch, most experts advise against it, the reason is typically because it's easier to pull or tear a tendon/muscle because the force generated pushes them beyond what is comfortably possible for the individual

How come my butterfly is flat and most of my hamstring stretches are all the way down and I still can’t do any splits? 😭😭

as for the butterfly stretch, that stretch is more of a thigh flexibility stretch and less of a hip stretch, and hamstring stretches may be all the way down but without the hip flexibility you will get no where

@@Ant_0n_y0u alright! Thanks! I focused on my hips a lot yesterday and I got down a lot further! I had good hip flexibility but really paying attention to it and stretching my hip flexors really helped get down! I’m only 4 inches away! Wish me luck!
