RC drift is probably one of the most challenging forms of the hobby to get better at! Dont get discouraged if you get your first car and it’s harder than you thought. Other better chassis that are ready to run including the MST RMX, Redcat RDS and i believe yokomo still has there rtr. Thing thats going to be a determining factor is the price.

@@007teal There are definitely better chassis but here in the US Traxxas has the most name recognition and I really think it could be a major boost in helping people out there get into it. I really want to test one out and see what it can do and make some videos about it. It would be interesting to compare it to my competition chassis. I want one to drive outdoors lol. Im afraid to drive my Shark on the streets.

I’m exactly the kind of person this would be marketed to in RC. I have an interest in drift but not enough to invest in or build a 10/10ths dedicated rig. But for something I can run on the driveway, this is perfect. And I love the GTD inspired shell.

The fact this is being driven outside, and has some bigger tires. ..... makes me interested. My issues with the majority of drift cars, that I have atleast drove.. is that they are low, and don't work well outside. I like this. It allows me to have more fun. Will I buy it. I don't know haha. But it looks great. Traxxas always does a good body. Great video man. 😎

I drove a modern drift car for the first time last weekend. It was SO TOUGH because the car was trying to drive for me. Now Yes I'm used to AWD platforms, that's all I've ever gotten. But I feel it's easier to drive it when I know that the car isnt trying to drive for me. lift off the throttle, pitch it in, throttle through. Or pitch it, break traction with the throttle and let it slide. They threw me a MiniZ (also my first drive with those) and I was keeping it sideways a lot easier - still not great but I'm also not a drift guy. But that little MiniZ was definitely a hoot. But I went right back to running my Fazer Mk2 around the race course since it was points day lol

I converted my 2.0 to rwd yeeeears ago lol. When the 2.0 came out i did it. Wasnt hard andit drifted pretty good. Its pretty well balanced. But the traxxas avc was still limiting it compared to a stand alone gyro

I’m new to RC and loving my TRX4 for trails and crawling, but have been wanting to get into drift. This is a brilliant release from them-$330 and all I need to do is throw a battery in it? Sold. Great that it’ll run outdoors until I feel like going to the indoor track. I don’t love the body, but I’ll just bash this one until I get good and then snag an M30 body to not smash 😁

I put a max8/5400kv 550 combo into my 4Tec 2.0. On 3s it is a literal drift missile. I can get almost 2 5000mah packs through a fresh set of Traxxas tires before they blow out. This is a cool offering from Traxxas but I think they should have put their 2s brushless system in it and added another $20 to the price.

Commenting and liking to support the channel. I do agree that the more people in the hobby the better and affordable RTRs do that, but this really seems like minimal effort on Traxxas' part. Its a 4wd platform with some parts missing to make it 2wd with increased steering angle but still at 4wd pricing.

Actually have a connection with traxxas and the guys there tried out the different motor/esc combos they had and couldn’t find one that worked well enough. Also brushed made it easier to keep the price lower. I was surprised initially too

is it a normal size body? the fit and finish of the body is pretty nice specially around the wheel arch. not many rtr's out there that gives some attention to detail to the body.

Pretty cool seeing more drift chassis but sadly i would say that traxxas failed at this one. I mean look at associated who also just released a chassis. The MST RMX RTR is better, the Redcat RDS i'd say now looks even better than the RMX. I loved my RMX. The determining factor is going to be price on this. If its cheaper than yokomo, MST, or Redcat then maybe as a beginner option.

Interesting that it is only a 190-200mm chassis... that's more in the range of the 210-225 mm D5 lite rather than the normal 255 mm comp spec cars. Also I've been told by many RC drift guys that you actually want a really open diff in the back, helps control yourself through corners as your wheels have almost 0 traction anyway, with a diff you can hold the angle rather than with a locked wheel it would like to spin out (on hard surfaces like polished concrete anyway aka Stricklys)
