Leather, my father was a cobbler all his life since he was 10 years old. When I got older, I worked with him, in a boot shop. Every time I smell leather I think of him and it makes me think his spirit is close. Beautiful journal!!

Going back in time as I watch this video. I'm sure as you made your journal you didn't realise exactly how much fun you would have during your adventures. My craft space is a project in the works too. I have a crumpled well worn piece of paper with the litany of names for when I pray, but not an actual journal. Is a good thought you have.

Ideas and project lists... never ending on the homestead! So many projects going on all at one time, definitely hard to not feel overwhelmed- I learned that as long as no one gets hurt its okay that the work didn't get done today. I decided to paint my bathroom floor, and then painted on a nautical compass in the middle of it - until I could afford to put in a new floor. Forget the new floor, I love the paint job better than anything I've seen in the flooring stores. Check out the floor stencils they can look amazing and pull the whole room together.

It makes me feel better to know others have a messy house from being outside all summer. I need to tackle mine soon, it’s driving me crazy! The piles in my sewing room might be the first things I work on. I’d love to have one of those journals for a gardening log. I have access to a lot of leather, sounds like a pretty easy project. I wish I could come down to Santa Rosa to meet you, but maybe another time. I hope you have a blast!

Think hard before painting the brick,,,, much easier to paint than to remove paint afterwards. Check into epoxy floor painting, they have some super cool mixes they can do. Can look like a night sky, Sandy Beach, Pebble Creek, it's wild all the looks they can do. Just food for thought!!!! Have a Great Day!

I think one of the best parts of homesteading is seeing the vision sometimes long before it's time! Planning patiently in the waiting tends to give way to big dreams bannered in anticipation, gratitude, and thoughtful love. You seem to lack none of that. Prayer journal! What a good idea! One year at our church I made prayer baskets. I too should write my prayers out, there are so many things that distract my prayer life. Maybe that would help me. Can you tell us more about how a prayer journal works? You said you write your prayers in it to keep you focused. So do you actually write prayers out or is it a record of people and situations you want to remember to pray for? I have a terribly hard time focusing... “Heavenly Father, my sister has been...Oh! I wonder what I should fix for dinner?” See what I mean?

It reads a lot like letters to God. About what I’m feeling, thinking, needing, afraid of, hopeful for. Sometimes they are brief and sometimes they are long.

You should come up with ideas for the tiny leather scraps. I used some I had to make baby shoes for a friend who did not want to use traditional shoes on her kids. I made flowers with leather too to dress up the little girl shoes.

We keep all the scraps and have done leather cuff bracelets and pen holders and wallets. Baby shoes are a great idea. Also, I got the fig cuttings today! THANK YOU!
