I'm 48 yrs old and I'm starting a 6 month welding school next month. I have no idea if I'll be able to do the level of physical work required of a welder, but I have to do something NOW! I've wasted my whole life f-ing off getting in trouble, getting high, etc. Welding seems to be the quickest trade to learn and earn that there is. I truly hope I can make it in this field as I have a 9 year old son to take care of. God help me.

@@pacheco3328 Not good. Welding school was a bust. It turns out I'm horrible at welding. Just couldn't get it.... Hard to explain. The instructor kept telling me that I just need more time burning rods. Repetition, practice, TIME. Unfortunately, time is something I don't have allot of. Anyways, I'm back home at my old job making shit money and looking at a bleak future. Wish I had better news.

Great content, I can tell you all from my experience that pipeline is a job that requires you to travel no matter what!! Everything can change in a matter of minutes, if you wanna do pipeline just expect to travel a ton and also don’t expect to go home whenever they say y’all will because in most cases that’s not the case.. but if you don’t care, and you just need some money then yes this is the job you wanna start with because what you earn here, I promise you that you will not earn it anywhere else if you don’t have a degree of some kind... And this is just entry level pay if you get employed as a labor hand... So my advice to y’all is be ambitious to learn every day even if it’s small things, but learn them because as soon as you know, after just months you will see how much you’ve grown in the job... overall, just put yourself out there and let them know that you’re always ready to work.. Also: just be patient with whatever you’re learning atm because that’s all it takes, is time....

Hey great videos, I’ve been pipelining for 4 years and on the road for 1.5 years now and you haven’t said anything that isn’t true. And there’s a saying on the pipeline, “you can either have a lot of money or you can have a lot of stories!”, but don’t party too much cause there’s story’s of welders having to sell their welding rigs just to have the money to get home. Just had to put that out there, it’s funner being the guy with a bag full of money and a harley
