I'm not an expert on this but I wonder what would such comparison looked like if the outcomes (e.g. average arrow speed or total time or number of arrows shot in a time limit) or inputs (e.g. bow poundage) were somehow standardized by archer's body weight. For example, to make a comparison valid, Peter Bogár would shoot a heavier bow than Justin Ma. Or, if they both shot a bow of the same/similar poundage, measurements would be adjusted by body weight of respective archers.

@@TheWayofArchery He is impressive, but I must say I prefer your technique, the longer draw may be a bit slower but will surely use the back muscles better, and probably be more reliable and accurate. I have always shot English longbows, but after looking at your channel I'm very tempted to try an AF Chinese bow.

That guy never draw his bow to #100 Is a fiber glass every arrow was sticking out good few inches and #100 was achieved because of stacking so I would not call this as clarified

Thats fairly fast! I am not that knowledgeable on Asiatic War Archery so this may seem dumb....How many arrows, or how long would Archers need to be firing arrows? I guess all they could...would make sense.. Looked like by #6 you were struggling a bit...at 132 pounds....I was impressed! Can you imagine shooting at this rate for like 100 arrows or 15 minutes...thats my question. How long would an archer be required to keep up sustained volleys? To best of your knowledge. I cant comprehend the endurance that would require, its mind blowing

@@wizardjacek86 You mean Peter Bogar's result? I did try to measure his draw as he shot, and it seemed approximately right, but it is possible he was drawing short by an inch or two. I was thinking that would only reduce the draw weight to about 90# at worst. But you mention stacking... at that rate the draw weight could be even less?
@wizardjacek864 жыл бұрын
@@vanivanov9571 yes I meant by the looks on the videos inch or two with fiber glass bow could be even #10-20 with stacking. I’m not here to criticise but I think full draw was scarified for speed which is pretty normal in this occasion. I’m not saying he can’t do it with full draw.

Nine arrows in twenty seven seconds with a 100# bow is insane.

for the arrow to hit target that close and that hard (unlike hitting fiber target such as haystack) , wouldn't it put too much shock on the arrows that could create micro fracture?
@TheWayofArchery5 жыл бұрын
Depends on quality of release. A bad release that introduces a lot of sideways oscillation will definitely put more stress on the arrow upon impact.

@@TheWayofArchery what kind of arrow do you use for that 100lbs bow and safe for shooting in that very short distance?
@johnhanley99465 жыл бұрын
I have a question about the way the bow is draws in this video. The archer seems to be ducking his head under the bow a little bit, I guess because it's a heavy bow. Why doesn't he raise the bow higher before the draw, the way I've seen done in Manchu archery? Wouldn't that help to make a heavy bow easier to draw? Is my impression of what's happening in the video incorrect?
@TheWayofArchery5 жыл бұрын
I find it stronger not to raise the bow too high, because I want to keep my bow shoulder blade settled. But the essential "pushdown" motion of the Manchu draw and my draw are similar, just the starting positions may be different.
