How do you keep the led’s from blinding you so you can see out the slits?
@Heroesworkshop3 жыл бұрын
You can cover them with some thin foam. I used aluminum tape over that area. I forgot to mention it. Sorry about that. I used foam in the old tutorial I mentioned and linked in this video. You can see it here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rabMnpKigauhkNU
@Red-yn9fv3 жыл бұрын
@@Heroesworkshop no it’s all good, I just wasn’t sure if you had covered them. I did an evil rocketeer helmet and I used some black felt fabric to cover it. Probably would have been easier to use foam lol

Thanks April. I was actually tempted to make this a Punisher War Machine but I wanted to keep this video with its old school theme. I suggest using the Mark II/Iron Patriot War Machine helmet for that look. It’s the one Hot Toys used for the figure. It has a better surface area on the faceplate for the skull design. 😎

This was actually quite enlightening to see, i recall being drawn into this with your original video series, which had the War-Machine at that time. I have been procrastinating my own project for far too long. Currently I'm working on a unrelated project. As I'm nearing completion of that one, i hope that this rejuvenation will inspire me to move forward. Again i have questions. What are the dimensions of your cutting mat? I've been using a glass sheet. Your aluminum ball is made of foil? Have you considered preheating the ball prior to forming the foam? I've lost my pepakura program on my computer as it had died. I don't have the recovery key, so anything i do will be freehand. Are there pieces that you yourself has done freehand, with satisfying results. I'm considering a freehanded foam mock-up helmet, a precursor to aluminum, which i eventually would like to do. I'm probably going to be picking your brain on this one. Lastly i really loved this video and thank you for the inspiration...

Stealth thanks for another great helmet. We all see the 17 minute tutorial but, how long do you actually work on the build itself? I'm amazed you can crank out a build video every week! Hats off to you dude!
@Heroesworkshop3 жыл бұрын
I work on and off during the week. Sometimes I’m preparing templates for the coming weeks or modifying models. Sometimes my mental health declines and it’s difficult to work on things but on a good week, when I’m actually working on the thing itself with no outside issues, I can finish a build in 2 days because I let the contact cement and sealant fully dry overnight before painting. For the Cap shield, that was a one day build as I completely ran out of time that week and I really wanted to finish it.
