So, fun fact: The "smokescreen in the air" thing was actually tried, in the form of a rear-firing flamethrower. If a pursuing plane got close enough to get burned, that was of course a nice outcome, but even if not, the thick black sooty cloud would do a number on their windscreen. The plan was abandoned when saner minds realized that putting a pressurized tank of flamethrower fuel on a plane was just asking for sudden fireballs.

John- don't turn, the F-80 is fairly fast and accelerates well for a beginning jet. However, the F-84 B is much better as it is only .3 br higher and is about 100 mph (160kph) faster. With the F-84B, your acceleration is absolutely shit so get up to about 550-600 kph (around 350 mph) in a slight climb, climb to 4 km, then dive into the furball(at least 750 kph speed at the bottom of your dive), make a gun run on a 229 or something that has been turning/has less energy, then go straight and wait for any pursuers to break off, zoom back to altitude, and repeat. This works for the F-80 too, but it isn't as fast.

P-80 is without a doubt my favorit world war 2 jet. And yes it is a world war 2 jet, it flew recon missions over italy at the end of the war. That makes it more of a world war two jet then the HO 229.

I might just be weird, but I find early Jets to be a fun tier to play in WT. not perfect by any means, but Shooting Stars and Meteors vs 262s and Hortons tends to feel at least acceptable and believable

The trick to avoiding packet loss right now is to play on EU servers from the US. It makes my 70ms ping go to 140ms (ocean and all that), but my PL goes from 5% to 0% since the EU hamsters get healthier feed so it's much better to play on.
