2:55 I really like that moment as a good way to show that Earth doesn't just rely on the Justice League and co but is able to put up enough of a fight to force the Reach to get involved. Based on how the Reach's fleet was destroyed, it stands to reason that had Earth's military not stepped in, the Reach probably would not have had enough manpower to stop the rest of the missiles. But because the military did step in, there was a small enough amount of missiles that the Reach thought they could use their fleet to keep the Earth safe. Without the military stepping in, the Reach probably would have considered the Earth a lost cause and would have just left, but instead, they had enough arrogance to think that they could reveal their fleet and still keep the Earth's population on their side.

What I really appreciate about this scene is that it is a visceral example of why the Earth Governments tolerate the Justice League organization. Even the entire Reach Fleet couldn't do what they were doing, would have been decimated even at three times its total strength. And that isn't even taking into account the giant weapon fired at the start. I love seeing the other nations and powers of the world participate, mostly because, when their way fails and the JL succeeds, its realistically justifies their existence in a way nothing else really does.

To be fair, the War world's missiles weren't dangerous due to sheer power (Shazam was outright punching through them and ignoring the damage of the explosion), but rather the sheer quantity and being potent enough to destroy cities and ruin the planet's environment to where it would be impossible to survive. Disregarding the likelihood of Apokolips having weapon systems capable of intercepting Warworld's, or the potent techno-sorceries of the New Gods, if necessary Darkseid would just throw as many parademons to be blown up in the sky to intercept the missiles, while confronting Mongul

Granted it didn’t work very well but since it was doomsday they were dealing with I’ll excuse it. There was also in the final part of JL Crisis on two earths where the US marines arrive with tanks on the moon and arrest the remaining members of the Crime sindicate Other than that though I don’t recall many moments in the DCAU. Edit: this is one part that I appreciate in the Invincible TV show, we see the GDA deal with monsters and possess powerful special weapons. They also have hero teams, successfully weaponizing super humans. We only see them rely on the main heroes when they face unique threats like Viltrumites, who are very resistant and extremely fast. Making it so that most special weapons can’t hit the Viltrumites and most heroes are going to be fodder if sent in. Sorry for the text wall.

Love that they even put the War World right next to the moon for size comparison. Probably around 2/3 the size of Earth's moon, possibly about the size Pluto. So War World could be large enough to be classed as a dwarf planet. Side note, Death Star I has a diameter of 120 km. Death Star II has a diameter of 160 km. This iteration of War World is about 2,300 km in diameter.

It’s kinda tragic that we never got to see the rest of Justice League’s heavy hitters in action. Would’ve been so sweet to see Icon, Superman, Martian Manhunter, Black Adam, and Bizzaro alongside Shazam and Captain Atom. Maybe finally give Firestorm, the Shazam Family, and Booster Gold some animated super fight spotlight. It’s why I really enjoyed the original DC Injustice and Forever Evil, they have new life to often forgotten power houses as the heroes struggled to scrape together a new super team strong enough to tear down Superman level rivals. Even if they couldn’t go into space, watching Red Tornado, Metamorpho, El Diablo, Aquaman, Etrigan, Donna Troia, Mr. Miracle, Swamp Thing, and Fire play defense on earth would still be wicked.
