One of the most insightful interviews in regards to the societal conflict and social awareness. Am hearing him for the first time and while listening I found so many things which I have realised in my life as well as few things which I haven’t ever realised. So much of clarity in thoughts that you feel addictive and completed listening to it at one go. Thanks Mr. Pandita for speaking about Kashmiris but more from a very very constructive manner. The thought process regarding ‘sentimental education’ is a novel thing for me atleast and have given me a thought to pursue it further. As usual Irfan sahab’s question add so much value and direction to the conversation- amazing!

I watched "Shikara" last night and I felt I should have watched it in theatre. Even now IMDB has low rating for this movie, movie is slow for sure and doesn't give you what you expect still the characters played by new actors were just mesmerizing. I found message in this film. I had the patience to watch the entire interview. Mr Pandita is exceptionally intelligent, very articulate and very well meaning. His book on Kashmir is an example of his capabilities. But his virtues are marred by self righteousness and a deep seated sense of self denial. Whatever the reason for this , it has led him into mediocrity of thought and consciousness. If he says he has read great literature, he must know great writers speak uncomfortable truths as they understand it. Mr Pandita must stop taking refuge in moral science, it will make him more credible. I wish him well.

I so agree with you. When the interview started i also stared reading his book 'our moon has blood clots' and by the end of both the book and the interview i realized he tried very hard to keep a balance in other words you can say he tried to be secular and I wasn't very convinced.
