Kel’Thuzad should have come with Arthas. In the level of his loyalty, he should have not let his king go to take risk alone, despite the aiding of Anub’arak. His king’life always more important than the land he succeeded from his king. And if Kel’Thuzad has come, there would have been an equal battle with 3 heroes in each sides. The story would have been much more perfect.

I must say that the Arthas-Illidan fight at the end looked much better when I was 12. However, this game really was - and is - something, if it made the nerdy 12-year-olds whose native language wasn't English sit around and discuss the lore for hours on end. Just like with Age of Mythology afterwards, we'd memorised pretty much all of the voiced quotes of the units ("What lies before me", "Our paths converge" are my personal favourites (we'll get to hear them in the next video), and, as a friend joked "Ready to ride!" should've been more like "Ready to DIE!", given how fragile the Orc Raiders are), and... well, it was just a really big deal. Watching this series has been an absolute nostalgia blast for me, and I can put some pieces together now, pieces that I couldn't link back then - about the Burning Legion and stuff like that. Thanks for making this possible, Rythian. I also intend to enjoy every single bit of the Rexxar campaign. Not now, obviously, as the videos aren't out yet, but I'll wait patiently.

Now that was a great ending. Some can say that Rexxar’s campaign was the actual ending to Warcraft 3, but in my point of view, the Story sort of started with Arthas and it ended with him being the Lich King. Plus the credit scene in the Frozen Throne was a lot better than the Reign of Chaos credit scene.

I'd say frost wyrms fully upgraded with statues is the way to go. The hardest part of this mission is to do a successful rotation of the obelisks preventing Illidan to capture one. If you're not careful in the late game you'll always end up with 3 and Illidan with 1 and you can never capture all 4. You need to have 3 captured, hold on and have your army ready to attack on the second obelisk Illidan goes to. Then you kill him and rush to the base protecting the last obelisk. Also found very helpful to have one meat wagon and 3 necromancers to produce skeletons to send first before each attack distracting the naga from my frost wyrms

Benjamin Doe If he'd do something like that he'd probably do a skirmish with one or two of the others. Warchasers is unlikely. Do remember that this game is more than a decade old and it's likely that Rythian is the only one of the Yogscast to own a copy.

You can easily kill Illidan when he's getting a obelisk because he cannot attack in the meantime, you can use the heroes to focus him down(death coil a few times) while your army fights his.

It's quite funny that this mission, when played on Hard, actually isn't the hardest mission in the game. Illidan and his army can be safely dealt with with Anub'arak tanking everything and their mother, and Arthas using Death Coil ocassionally (naturally, with Anub'arak full of Strength and Armor boosting items and Arthas full of Intelligence and Mana regeneration). Meanwhile, you mass your forces to attack Kael and Vashj's bases. From then on it's a matter on timing attacks as you'll have like 6 gold mines ready for use. March of the Scourge was the only mission I could not complete on Hard without kiting buildings.

Imsoevil711 Never count WC3's stories complete in WoW. The change to MMORPG was exceedingly drastic and while it worked out for Blizzard and a lot of the fans, it butchered the lore. But that's not Blizzard's fault. It's the fault of the genre. For an MMO to work, everyone needs to be able to do everything. The includes killing Thrall or Jaina or Illidan or whoever the boss you want to name is. In RTS games anyone can die at any time because there's no game play restrictions on it. Because of that the story lines were changed. The Forsaken is a great example of this, there's no story line reason for them to retain their autonomy from Arthas and they Lich King. They did for game play reasons alone.

No offense, a long time Warcraft 3 player here and I love Warcraft 3 but their melee map is not good. In fact it is straight up bad in general, nothing like the campaign at all. When I'm in a battle, I should focus on killing my enemy not saving one units. I should have a big battle like a real War not a hit and run Tactic. Their custom map is way better as I have played a lot of Warcraft map that resemblance Starcraft 2 play style which actually really good.

You had 3 big fuckups here, although you did make 1 of them up. 1: You didn't get the Ghoul upgrade for attack speed. That boosts logging speed as well, so it's really useful, and makes Ghouls a lot more dangerous. 2: You skipped out on the Disease Cloud upgrade from the Slaughterhouse. A DoT on your artillery is really, really nice. I know it's below the Abominations, but it does apply to Meat Wagons as well. 3: You waited far, far too long for the level 3 upgrade for your Frost Wyrms armor. You did notice, which is good, but you should always keep your upgrades coming.

Shinji Ikari I hardly think any of these are "big" fuckups. I was pretty much over 1k lumber at all points - I really didn't need the frenzy upgrade. 2: My meat wagons were pretty much only brought along for the siege damage to buildings, which Disease Cloud does nothing for. 3: As you said, I upgraded it eventually. There are always minor optimizations with everything, but none of these are "big fuckups". come on now.

YOGSCAST Rythian Boosting Ghoul DPS by 25% is one hell of a buff. Even when you threw them away instead of grouping them with your main attack force(Shame, shame!), they would have done much more damage. The cloud does actually hurt buildings, and other things around it. Yes, but you kinda should have done it a lot sooner.

That is good stuff. Arthas even if it is in death you and the people of this world will protect it from demons gaining it. Well I guess we learned something. I love Arthas but. The lich king and scourge was created by demons. The orcs gave into the blood of a demon and are kinda invaders. The elves night and blood(old high elves) gave into demon by Illdian. Only the Dwarves have the moral compass to not give in and stand their ground to the death. That said Arthas is king, killed the dreadlords by a servant he made, and saved his people even if they undead they still his people. Good Job.

this mission was tough for me back in the day, i haven't beaten it yet but i got through kael and vashj, i figured out where illidan's base was and tried the frost dragon offensive to take it out but they had their defense on point and so i never beat the game finally i hadn't thought of rush through the obelisks one by one, excellent work

so I finally finished this game today on hard and I must say that what I always considered to be the hardest mission (this one) was not really that hard in the end, mainly because you have ton of gold mines on this map that rarely get attacked I had much more trouble with missions like twilight of the gods, under the burning sky, the dark lady, a new power in lordaeron, march of the scourge, balancing the scales, the awakening of stormrage - if I had to make a list of hardest warcraft missions, all these would be higher than symphony of frost and flame, at least for me

oh yeah, I hate those, I beat march of the scourge by building only towers and almost no troops, it worked in twilight of the gods I trained only hippogryph riders to win and under the burning sky was the worst, I only got lucky they didnt kill kelthuzad in time, if I had to "defend" him for a second longer, I would lose
