As a SW architect I can promise you that the process WG is talking about may exist but is defiantly not followed... What it appears is that there is a guy at the top who dictates all the moves, and all the team lines up behind him... and since is based on the 90's soviet ruling system the priority for the entire company is to protect the big boss (probably in Kremlin), protect next boss (probably CEO), protect the chief on WoWS, and so on the so forth... The least protected are the players (customers) and just above them are the devs who work outside Russian borders... For most other companies, the order is board of investors, then customers and then parts of hierarchy I mentioned above.... but soviet companies (this was also true in the 80's and 90's) really don't care about customers, at all... They don't care about the board either since investor are in most cases "dubious" persons who use a multinational company to laundry money via off-shores (like Cyprus)... PS. I am not talking about all Russian companies, I only talk about those who appear to be build on soviet "standards" and WG, based on the way it acts and communicates is definitely a soviet company...

Cv's are ok except from a certain few like fdr & the russian ones, though lowering the damage of all other cvs by 20% would make them more fair. (and reduce the spotting range in exchange for some AA nerf or change). Submarines are changed and no longer proven to be anti-dd proof & they're honestly very easily countered. (though all bbs and cruisers deserve some sort of depth charge mechanic.) Yes I hate the +2/-2 MM, I only find this good in specific ships, would rather have it be +1/-1. Smolensk is kinda overrated since its nerf range, thunderer is still a terrible bb for a structured team (hence why you don't see pros using it), petro is getting a nerf (wait and see, petro is terrible vs threats who angle vs it ). Yeah games are stomps, daily I see at least 4 matches where one team doesn't lose more than 0-2 ships and wins within record times, a skill-based system (which is hard to make) would be nice.

It is not the smolensk, the thunderer, the carriers that is the problem. The problem is how do you allow for multiple types of game play, experiment with new ships and how do you fix things when you get it wrong (for example, the broken economy of the missouri). If wargaming hadn't used the missouri as a cash cow to sell loot boxes, the ship's economy could have been fixed. As the community has generally become aware of the problem of loot boxes during some events and the actual odds of getting a missouri (plus they will eventually publish the drop rate), it will no longer be the cash cow it was.

Totally agree with you that playing for more than a few games now gets stressful. Match making either puts you in a roll over team or on a team where the game is over in 7 minutes. I'm not claiming to be a great player but in the 6 years I have been playing I would have more wins than loses in any given evening of playing. I feel now that I'm nothing more then cannon fodder for Whale's that throw vast amounts of money to the game. Premium ships are incredibly expensive and loot boxes have unreasonable odd's. What I feel is that WG now has a 6 year old game that is declining in its popularity, because of changes they made and not listening to CC's or anyone else in in the player base. So yes they do not care about the long time player base but have chosen to create as much revenue in the game as possible before most players move on to something else. Nothing last forever in gaming, but I do feel if WG was more in tune with its customers (what we are) they would make more money in the long term, than a money grab in the end,

I had the exact same thoughts on the last bit, they’d make more long term than trying to rip as much money as possible from the player base

I think that the 406mm nerf was an oversight by different staffers working on the new German battlecruisers (which were receiving a nerf to their 406mm pen) My guess is that someone was lazy in coding the battlecruisers and instead of creating fresh code for the new ships, and as a result when they nerfed the 406mm pen of the battlecruisers it in turned nerfed the FDG and GK. It is entirely possible that the individual nerfing the battlecruisers was unaware that the codes were intertwined. Mistakes happen. As to the firing I had heard yesterday (dont remember where I read it either) that the individual was fired because the team in WoWS that he worked with previously pushed for his dismissal? There maybe things behind the scenes that lead to this, not that WG cannot even discuss it.

I think the higher-ups in the game just see players as wallets that they need to suck a certain amount of money out of. Just like in any other company, this is just a product to them and they have quotas and ledgers to fill. This is just like any other large game studio at this point which is unfortunate. The real issue is that it seems the developers on floor, maybe just the manager types making game decisions, seem to detest the players and don't seem to actually play the live game... at all. Much like the people in the high up parts of the company they are just pushing a product and need to keep pumping out "new and cool" stuff to keep the big bosses happy. World of Warships is a job to them, and players just get in the way of doing that job asking for things like "balance" and fixes. The response when asked about going through matchmaker and sorting out all the issues it creates is indicative of this... they say they will look at radar cruisers eventually, maybe. Next year. Maybe. World of Warcraft is having the same issue and it seems to be something that eventually happens when a game gets older, the company gets bigger, and the passion is gone. The player base will continue to fall and Wargaming will get more desperate to make money. I really hope someone is working on a new Warships style arcade/light-sim game in the same vain as World of Warships, I am more then ready to try something from people who have passion for their game.

I'm going to look at selling my account to some willing party in order to recuperate some funds for other hobbies. I can't continue to support this game and company with such massive amounts of time and money. Now, I feel like those are not only wasted on WG, but enabling the hole dug by the company to go *even* deeper.

May want to have a look into the account selling, pretty sure WG has a term where you can’t sell accounts as it’s their property, I wish you luck though

@@arch_2076 They technically do, but there was a discussion on the forums where WG seemed *more* concerned with accidentally shutting down a whale's account. So, it seems to be viable at the moment?

What is happening to this game is same thing that happened to WoT. Crazy new things and something that they call "improvements", but in reality they are just things that are making game much worst. And you don't have to be some kind of Sherlock to see that WG is milking this sinking (or dying) cow very hard. But they have time still. Players who decided to leave WoT (like me) can always play WT. But the players who would like to leave WoWS behind there is nothing atm, and I mean "nothing good as WoWS (even the game is what it is right now)".

When other departments within the same company are royally pi$$ed at you, then something is *definitely* wrong. There is obviously some seriously arrogant and ignorant people at the top of the WOWS Team, because now the WOT Team are angry at them. The problem is, as long as the same people remain at in the decision making positions without a higher power forcing change on them, there will be no change. The Game Directors, the two name on the Big Apology, need to go and people who give a damn, possibly from NA where people at least occasionally try to engage with players, need to be put in their place.

They aren't "human beings" per se. They are a corporation. So they have no empathy or compassion. Just the corporate goals. That's what they judge themselves on. Nothing more, nothing less.

Reasons i quit this game: -Toxic players becoming more and more common -and all of the stuff mentioned here.

I've heard more about drama from WG than I have heard about new ships, features ect. for several months now. That is not a good sign.

'quit' game 3 or 4 times. but the latest brilliant content WG produced made me finally quit this game forever. there was a time when i really loved this game but these times are long gone. played this game on high level, met fine ppl and some very bad individuals, waiting for balance changes for like years, spent thousands of Euros, raged more and more, CV-'rework', Subs, removal of signals from achievements, then the continious bad treatment of good and intelligent CCs and now this shitshow. so sad to see the almost best content this game offers is the sheer incompetence and ignorance of this developer/degenerates. cheers, yours fUBAR_REKt aka fULL_HP_bAXXTER.

If there's a problem with a company's culture, it invariably starts at the top and permeates down. I'm not at all surprised that Wargaming's sorry behaviour is endorsed by senior execs. An inability to examine your actions and accept justified criticism is a basic failing in a mature human being.

So if the developers don’t play the game, they should not be able to comment on what the in game mechanics and experience is???
@Roddy2293 жыл бұрын
Mal_h's comment says it all. They give zero fucks. And it's them, they're just not caring about who sees it.

Simple answer to "do not criticize something you didn´t create unless you create something similar" is "do not try to persuade us you can balance a game you don´t even play (and know how to play)". Nobody from WG is able to play a CB, or am I missing someone?

I think WG should take lessons from Iron Maiden on how to treat their fans....

Just to correct : Wargaming HQ is in Cyprus, I mean saying Russia isn't entirely incorrect provided the context but it would be nice if you can be more accurate! I quit WG titles years ago, and I'm not surprised where it is going now. They should be getting mainstream media attention like Blizzard, EA, and Activision.

I've been sort of oscillating between simply quitting or doing something more substantial. As much as I want to do something more affirmative like afk'ing out of every double CV random it would feel bad knowing I'm ruining someone else's game time. In the end even if I'm enjoying every 3rd or 4h game I think its time to quit. Not renewing sub after current time expires. Media drama aside these guys are about as bad and as unscrupulous as I've ever run across in any game I've played in the last 20 years.
