fun fact since besides the chaplain all the members of the second company are fresh primaris marines and thus at must have less 20-50 years of service. so titus having over 200 years has more experience then them by miles in tactics and combat. which is why i like how titus is always explaining things to his squadmates as he is teaching them

Also hus commanders grudge makes sense remember titus used to be the captain of this very company of the ultramarines two hundred years ago.he probably has a chip on his shoulder and is worried titus might have a grudge due being lead by a newcommer in a military unit that if things have gone differently titus would still be leading

To be fair titus being given a crap mission makes sense considering titus was heavily demoted and his superior knows he was a blackshield in the death watch for redacted reasons. in case you dont know blackshields are members of the deathwatch who renounce or have been exiled from their space marine chapters due to disgrace, suspicions or proof of heresy, treason or the like and are given basically the most difficult missions and are basically death sentences each
